    Is this method is recommended for swimming pool construction?

    • @AnimeEdu
      @AnimeEdu  6 лет назад

      Yes, it can be done. By adding water proofing admixture and if possible hydrophobic cement inclusion is more advantageous.

    What is initial and final setting time of this concrete as compair to general concrete ? Means how it is different ?

    • @AnimeEdu
      @AnimeEdu  6 лет назад

      The mix alone will have same initial and final setting time as of normal cement concrete.... However, admixtures are added to accelerate the setting time. Based on added admixtures the setting time may vary..

      it shouldn't have altered IST and FST as its mentioned shotcrete has no special properties compared to normal concrete.

      Nikhilesh Das strength of concrete
      1day =16%
      3 days=40%
      7days=65%
      14days=90%
      28days=99%

      It depends a lot on type of mixture. It depends not only on accelerators but also on % of cement, water and aggregates. In 1 hour you can reach 1MPa

    Shotcrete sounds expensive!
    Wouldn't a cast in place pour be less expensive.

    If it has high cost and less durability then why we use it

      In certain places this type concrete would be more convenient and speedy..

      We use it to repair ovens and mixing pits at a aluminum casting plant. Its the only way to efficiently go inside the pit and repair the broken brick/block/old concrete.

      I like gunite, shotcrete is messy and can be hard work.
