The second episode has arrived! Glad you all enjoyed the first episode and wanted me to continue the series, had a ton of fun with this one. For anyone that hasn't picked up a kitchen scale yet, I bought this cheap scale from amazon several years back and it has taken quite a few beatings and held up well, I'd definitely recommend it. Check it out here: amzn.to/2mL1uA9
beardedfatloss this scale is awesome. My wife called me the other day on my way home and told me my scale fell off the counter and I needed to grab one on the way home. So I stopped on the way home and grabbed one. I hate that scale. I grabbed this one that she broke and after some work I got it all put back together and checked it out with some test weights and it is working perfectly. I continue to use your scale 3 meals a day while the new one sits in the cupboard. My tip on scales is if you don't buy this one (although I did ask you a while back and ordered from your link) is if you are looking at food scales don't buy one that is setup like a bathroom scale. My new scale is almost impossible to zero out because the buttons are on top and when I push the button it pushes down on the scale changing the numbers and not allowing it to zero out. The scale you recommend is by far a better product and way cheaper then the other ones I have used. Thanks for another great videos man! Have a great weekend.
I hadn't even thought about the issue with pushing down the buttons, thanks for the heads up for everyone! I've beaten this scale up so bad over the years and it's held up well so far! Wish it looked a bit nicer but the price makes up for it. :)
Zeroing out the scale and then taking food out of the container has been such a huge help for me. I recently started doing it when measuring out peanut butter and it's been hugely helpful. No more "Oops, I need to take some off my toast... somehow." Great tip for measuring the pan first. I haven't started meal prepping yet but once I do I'll be sure to add in this tip. Thanks for all you share!
Peanut butter is practically the reason I figured this out! Definitely where this method shines, we've all been in that toast situation, haha. This definitely makes things easier for the meal prep too, appreciate you watching and supporting!
My food scale has become my best friend in portion control. I even take it with me when I go on vacation because I'm still cooking and meal prepping most of the time.
Mainly just a few changes in the technique to bring out more flavor and a couple of ingredient swaps. Not better but just a bit different 👍👍 Appreciate the support!
You essentially weigh the food before and after cooking, before to determine the macros and after to get the total finished weight. After that, you divide equally into however many portions you’d like. The calories depend on what your cooking and how many portions you divide it into.
@@joshfenn Hi there! Thanks so much for making this video. But I am also confused. Going back to the comment. Are there 528 calories in each container for your video? As you said 528 grams. That is where I am confused. Is the grams the calories?
Don’t you have to use the wight for the other food it or you don’t wight the other food and put it in the app for make sure how many calories their is for each meal. ?
Not exactly sure what you’re asking but all the food needs to be weighed. Add in the raw ingredient weight for the accurate calories and divide by how many meals you’re splitting it into
Might be tough to explain in text, but total all calories for the entire batch before/during cooking first, then after cooking weigh the entire batch and divide however you’d like and use that fraction to divide the calories. (Example: 2000 calories for a batch of food, weighing 4000 grams after cooking. Split into 4 portions would equal 1000g weight (4000/4) and 500 calories (2000/4) A bit complicated to explain, but relatively easy in practice once figured out. Hope this helps!

The scale is so important! Way too much variation from volume measurements and guessing. Appreciate the support as always! :)
Thanks! You explained it better than the last couple videos I’ve watch.
Glad to hear it!
This video 2 years ago would have saved me some serious time!! Listen up people!! Great vid BFL.
Right?! Hoping to save someone some time out there, wish I had figured this out years earlier.
Thank you for the clarity. Other videos too confusing lol
Glad it helped!
Wait, so towards the end were you basically adding the food to the containers until the pan on the scale said 528g for each container?
Yeah that’s basically it 👍👍
Do u zero it out the scale with every container you fill
Defiantly keep the videos coming! You have great content.
Thanks so much, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
So how do you figure calories per each of your bowls???
Total calories / portions
Thanks for this
Keep the videos coming, also what tweaks did you make to your BB?
Mainly just a few changes in the technique to bring out more flavor and a couple of ingredient swaps. Not better but just a bit different 👍👍 Appreciate the support!
Hi how did u measure calories for all of that together before cooked and after
Totally calories of all ingredients/# of portions = calories per portion.
So how many calories is their in each plastic tub.
Is it 528 calories as you said 528 grams.
I’m so confused

perfect spice video.
by the way, you do not have a facebook presence, right?
No Facebook for me! I probably should but just don’t have the time to keep up with it. Maybe sometime in the future!
How do you input the total macros for all that
Add each ingredient, save as a meal, then add whatever fraction of the total batch your eating to the daily log
But how do U know how many calories are in those servings ?? That's what I'm struggling with

Can u do a video on that please
So how many calories would this be for each portion ? I just started and kinda struggling getting it into MyFitnessPal
Depends on what you’re cooking! Just take the total meal calories/# of portions to figure out your calories per meal.
Nice
Thanks for watching and supporting as always! :)
I tried this and each bowl was inaccurate. What did I do wrong?
You weigh the total amount of food at the end and divide it by how many portions you’re making
