Great, looking forward for it with anticipation since my GK1 will be delivered in October. As a regular user of the previous 2 molds (5.5, boat tailed), I have experimented also by chopping of the tail off with good accuracy results in LW barrels with lower powered guns in an effort to produce lighter slugs with just the same mold... the new shape will make it easier (chop off last ring with a sharpy)... I use pure lead but you're right, very fast shooting clogs the barrel with lead dirt reducing accuracy.. unless lube is used.. I use teflon oil spray with very good results. Thank you for your efforts ❤
I have been looking for a .25 mold for my GK1, and just realized MP offers these Airgun molds! That’s awesome. I use a few of their 45-70 molds for my Texan rifle, but like you say, their.25 acp mold is a little too small in diameter. Just ordered this 8 cavity mold, I can’t wait to try it! 44 grain slugs have been doing great in the pistol; I have no doubt it will throw these 50 grains with no problem.
Great video! I am so happy I found your video. I just purchased a Huben K1 .25. I have never cast slugs before but everyone tells me Huben K1 needs larger diameter slugs than most .25. I see it has been a little while since you post this video. Any news on the molds and can you share with me all I will need to get started. Thanks
Just ordered the mold from mp-molds... but I think I f@cked up with the sizer... I ordered the sizer and then realised there is a "sizer body"... I'm very excited... this will be my third mold from mp... I hope they 'll somehow come out with a solution on the 25 grains area one day... I would love also a form pressed mold tool for pellets, single press, doesn't matter... presslug is just too expensive for most of us and sunctions to Russia restricted us from some fine tools made there...
Hi. Happy to hear that... Yes, you need one body that fits into standard Lee or other presses and then you can just exchange the sizing die to any size you need...
Yeah, I tried to play with lighter options but the problem is that shorter slugs don't work well, they are not accurate. I actually have this same shorter version of the mold (two ring instead of three) but it is not accurate at all...
@gregorkamensek3923 We' ll see, couple of friends already started asking about it... For me molding ammo is a life saver (LCS & GK1), semi and full auto are one of the sweet delights of life... you need a lot of ammo to enjoy them...
I have noticed that these slugs shoot well out of other air rifles also. I would like to inquire on your stance of selling projectiles with your design.
Hi. Thanks. I am trying to push some manufacturers to make them but no luck till now. I myself will not get into this business as this is only my hobby and I have a day job :)
@gregorkamensek3923 I am working towards a conpany that produces quality airgun projectiles. I have cast this design and would like to produce it, but I have no way to contact you for discussions. Is there any way I may reach you?
Is there a way to get that mould? Everywhere I look it’s not available. I have another airgun mould that isn’t working well for my .22 cal L2. By the way, THANK YOU for all your work on the GK1! I preordered it through the link. I’m just patiently waiting to receive it.
Thank you, I really appreciate it. Miha from MP mold should put the mold on his web page, but hasn't yet... I am waiting for him, but yes, I till be available and there will be a link on this video hopefully soon...
Thank you Gregor for sharing your videos again and in this case the new version of the mold... I am one of those who owns all the previous molds (5.5)... after watching your video, go to the MP Molds page and I didn't find that this new version was available... you know if the new mold will be published soon or it will be like on previous occasions; Signing up for an interest list and then waiting for confirmation from MP Molds? greetings and congratulations
Thanks. I will get the links soon. They should be available but of course, that is up to MP molds. I will put the links in the description of the video as soon as I get them from MP molds.
I just bought the Huben k1 25 this past summer. What was recommended for pellets were Exact King 25.39g 6.35mm, Fx 33 g 6.35 Slugs 254 42 g Flats by NEAG 6.35 47g boat tailed by NEAG and lastly ZAN 253 /6.41/ 33.GR . I've only shot one mag of the JBS kings 25.39 6.35 pellets through it. What is your recommendations, and are any of the ammo I've gotten good, and what's your opinion about Teflon oil spray. I really like your suggestion of adding in other metals to harden ammo and for less clogging. I bought the newest Huben because I thought that it had superior accuracy w slugs and pellets. I'm currently saving up for the 30 cal RTI PROPHET 3 Which I've seen it to be very accurate w slugs and pellets.
To continue from the previous answer I gave you, use flat or coup tail slugs (not boat tail), size .251 or .252 and weight from 33 - 40 grains. You can go heavier but you will only get 1 magazine from 300 bar fill (for example with my slugs that are 50 grain).
Hi Gregor. I hope you are doing well with your family! I need your help with 2 questions for you: I will buy version 3 of the mold (I already have the other 3 previous ones for 5.5 ;), considering that once molded they must be calibrated, the "Push thru size die" option is the 5.55mm right? And the 2nd question: do you have ideas or do you know of solutions (adaptations) that allow it to incorporate a larger capacity carbon fiber bottle-style air tank? Will it be very complex to manufacture? Do they sell it there? Aliexpress? Giving it greater autonomy would make this rifle even more iconic, thank you very much and greetings from Chile. (text created using Google Translate hahaha)
The slugs that come out of the mold look very smooth and when I push them through the sizer it almost feels wrong to shoot them, you want to put them in a show case hahaha One - point, when I cast the slugs and cut them of with the leaver, the base of ths slug is round and I have to grind them to a flat surface. What could this be? I used the lead of old slugs from the trap.
Hi. Probably too low temperature of the mould for the alloy you are using. For pure lead, the temperature must be higher. If you are using those for K1, I would suggest that you add 1 - 2% of antimony. If you do so, the melting point will get lower lower and you will get better casts. Also, K1 (any GK1) prefer harder alloys because they shoot out of the magazine. They will be more accurate and you will also get less fouling on the forcing cone (less cleaning of the barrel).
Thank you very much for your pleasant wishes. Happy new year to you as well :). MP molds is still in process of making those molds. It is taking quite long, I know. I am sorry about that. I will probably make another video when it is finally released.
Hi Gregor, First of all, thank you for the video. I've already purchased an MP-MPLD 5.52 mold for my Huben K1 V2, September 2018 edition. However, the results I obtained were not good at all. At a distance of 40 meters, my groups had over 50 cm of spacing using just pure lead. However, when I run these bullets through the Huben swaging kit, they yield acceptable and much better results. Do you have an explanation for this? Should I consider using this new 5.55 mm mold instead?
Slugs with that mold are quite challenging to make right. Even I did not always succeed. Lead alloy play a big role, they have to be made of relatively hard alloy... Also, Huben changed the barrels few times in the process. This is one of the reasons why I made the version 3. This one is much easier to cast and work well in different barrels. They are also sizable so even if you don't get good results right away, you can try with different dimension... If you are willing to buy another mold, version 3 (this version) is probably the best solution, but I would also point out what you probably already know; when it comes to casting, the consistency is never as good as with swagged, so it is up to you to do good job when you cast. That is just the unfortunate reality of slug casting.
BTW: for .22 cal, the twist rate is perfectly sufficient for any slugs, even boat tail. Only .25 cal has relatively slow twist that is not that good for slugs. At least that is the case on my K1s and GK1s.
We had to make some minor changes because Huben changed the magazine slightly. The changes are made and the mold should be available any day now. I will probably make one more video to explain...
so, .219 slugs work best? ive got some that are .220 that seem to work well also..Nielson .223 36gr slugs resized to .220 right now and ill resize some to .219 later this week when i get the NOE sizing bushing..
It depends on the gun version and also the slug but in case of mine slugs in the video, .219 is best and also loads best in the magazine. .220 should be just fine as long and you can load them in the magazine without using excessive force.
@gregorkamensek3923 yeah.. .220 seems alittle snug but theyve got the dried bullet sizing lube on them..cant wait to get the .219 sizing bushing to see of any differences..be nice to find a barrel thatll fit with faster rate of twist OR a barrel available, say about 10" to 12" inches for these sbr sub carbine builds for switching out easily for back packing or survival defense type scenerio..the gk1 does have the capability to Expand into a survival, hunting genre of crossover pcp..im already seeing that this pistol can outshoot/ outpower my Walther Reign .22 rifle and ive shot my Walther at beyond 250 yards..the gk1 v3 .22 specimen ive got will shoot a small .35 inch or less 5 shot group at 40 yards off the bench( this being with 14.3gr Crosman Premier hp's and JSB 18.13) and a 3x12x44 scope( with a simple green dot sight itll stay around the same size ragged small hole group of less than 1" at 40 yds also..So, im looking forward to testing at 100 yds..eventually ill get the Huma regulator to install and id bet this pistol will do( just possible) be able to do bench rest accuracy at 100 yards..im up to start a You Tube review channel in the near future, so i hope to post my findings with the GK1 extensively very soon..
@@RaysAirgunsReview I saw this post second... For the projectile length that fit in magazine, the stock twist is perfectly sufficient. With my .22 K1, I am using this same barrel and those slug and they are extremely accurate and perfectly stabilized. It will even stabilize boat tail slugs that require more twist (for example ml V2 slugs or Altaros...). The .25 is more problematic because the barrels I have have only about 26" twist... Those barrels do not stabilize boat tail slugs. Regulator will improve your consistency and accuracy but will reduce the power significantly and also reduce the shot count at same power level. All the best with your RUclips channel :)
Gregor, may i ask you if undersized slugs (.250) cause jams in the (G)K1? Some people claim that it will. I personally have shot many .250 slugs in my K1 and yes they are not as accurate as .253/4 but never experienced a jam. What is your take on this? Thanks.
No, they don't. The only problem (besides accuracy) with undersized slugs is that the can more freely in the magazine and if you tilt the gun forward, the slug in the chamber aligned with the barrel will partially go to in the barrel. If you want to rotate the magazine at this point (manually with the leaver up), it will not be possible. You need to tilt the gun back in and shake it so the slug goes back to the magazine in order to be able to rotate it. But this will not cause a jam.
No, they are not. Those are casted and Altaros are turned, so Altaros are much more consistent by weight and size/shape. But there might not be that much of a difference in the accuracy you get from K1 at the end since K1 accuracy is limited mostly be the fact that it is shooting from the magazine. Still, I would say that you will get better accuracy with Altaros.
Hi again Gregor sorry for asking all these questions I have the sizing equipment now from NEO. Is sizing from 25cal mold 254 down to 250 ok or is it too much of a step down, will it deform the cast bullet?
Just subscribe to your channel. I bought a Huben k1 2020 version on AGN. I have not received it yet but I didn't realize there was all these different versions. Hopefully I got a good one. Do you have recommendations on what pellets and slugs I should be using on this version?
It depends of few more factors like: if you got LW or Chinese barrel (older had LW barrels that were a little more pellet picky) and the caliber. The slugs from the video tend to work well on all of them but they are designed with the newer Chinese barrels. Good alternatives are Altaors but they are expensive. I dont get good results with .25 cal Altaros in the Chinese barrels though, but other people do so I cannot say for sure. Other slugs also work well, just pay attention that their length is less than 11mm and that their size is appropriate for the magazine (in newer K1s .251 and .219 tend to work best). Hope this helps.
@@gregorkamensek3923 I will report back on Saturday when I receive the k1. The guy that I bought it from said he didn't know about the barrel and he bought it in 2021. He only used JSB 34 grain pellets with awesome success. He said he tried some NSA slugs that work great but made the barrel extremely dirty and didn't perform as well as the pellets.
@@barryhallsack8852 I assume it has chinese barrel. That is not bad at all, but the twist rate is quite low so boat tail slugs might not be stable or at least you must not shoot them at too high velocity.

From what I am familiar, I think the yare about the same. I have 2021 .22 and if I compare it with 2023 GK1 pistol, the have the same magazine and the same barrel. If I shoot pellet (which it not that often), I use JSB monster redesigned. Those are accurate in my 2021 k1.
@@gregorkamensek3923 my k1 is from 2019. the JSB monster redesigned shoots decently here. serial number starts with 23K k1 .22 . and .223 slugs shoot very poorly, my gk1 shoots better at 50 yards. very strange this k1. maybe made a barrel on Monday? 🤣 . thank you for your answer 👍🏻
@@andregommer8261 Ah, OK, sorry, I tough that 23k and 22k were 2023 and 2022 :) I assume you still have LW barrel in yours. Those barrels (althoug some other rifles shoot slugs well with them) don't shoot conventional slugs well. What I can say right now is that you will probably get best results with "non-standard" slugs that are about .221 to .222 size and have rings (like my V3 casted slugs). They also shoot very well Huben slugs (not swagged) or the "copy" from Altaros (5.56mm).

Hi Gregor
Do you think these slugs are better than Altaros slugs for Huben k1 .25 (year 22)? I'm all about accuracy.
I haven't tried it yet, but I will when I will test them in RTI guns. It should be OK since the slug has rings but I will confirm once I test it...
@@gregorkamensek3923 I ordered 5 tins of the JSB 34 grains to get started. I also ordered two tins of these varmint knocker 47 grain slugs. He cast his own slugs and told me these are the ones to get for the k1. I'm really excited to get into this hobby! Your channel's awesome! Thanks for all the cool content 😎👍!
@@barryhallsack8852 Thank you. I appreciate it :)
hello gregor, what is the difference between Huben 23k k1 .22 and 22k .22 Huben k1. which pellets for the 23k?
Probably a first batch K1 bought in Holland ??
I have one as well , mine has a REEEAALLLYYYY tight choke. Not sure if it's a LW barrel or Chinese one.
@@dannybax1982 First guns (I have one too, it is now the K1 prototype pistol :)) had LW standard profile barrel with standard (full) choke.
Slugs prefer a fast twist barrel say 1 in 10 twist,
Huben Chinese is a 1 in 17.5,
Its a shame they dont make a fast twist slug barrel.
Hi Gregor will this new version 3 fit FX Impact M3 magazines? I have the previous version in 22cal and 25cal lenght vise they fit nicely?
They should. But for FX, you will probably need to size them down to 5.52 and 6.35...
@@gregorkamensek3923 I see that MP moulds dosent have these sizes. Where is the best place to get sizing equipment for 552 and 6.35?
@@TheodorKjartanssonDon't know, depends also where are you from... The slugs were originally developed for K1 and GK1. Those guns prefer slightly bigger dimensions, that is why MP molds only have 5.55 and 6.40 sizes...
Wich size "push trough die" would you recommend for the .25 slugs? 6.4mm or 6.42mm? its for a huben gk1. Thanks in advance.
I think I already answered, but just in case: 6,40 for GK1 or the new K1 rifles. For older (LW barrels) 6,42 is a better choice due to magazine size.
I can't find the vid onto the mk3 accuracy?
ruclips.net/video/m6Siid1ewmI/видео.html
Will these do well in the Huben Pistol?
Yes, as mentioned in the video... But these will be for high power settings of course.
No hollow point on the road?
@@Harolddespui I have one .25 option, based on .25 ACP. I am convincing MP molds to release it. It is not OK to just use the ACP mold as it is a bit too small in diameter...
@@gregorkamensek3923 Nice. I already know that a lot of people are looking for heavy (+40grain) .253/.254 hp slugs, and the choice within Europe for that is zero.
Where can i buy the molds ?
Links will be in the description bellow the video soon. I am waiting for MP molds to send them to me.
@@gregorkamensek3923 any news ?
Hello Gregor, I was wondering if I could get your email address about a project for my GK1. Money is not a problem if you could do it!! Sorry to hijack your channel topic. The molds look great.
You can find my email in the contact of my RUclips page...
Mogu li se negdje naruciti slugovi koje ti radiš? Rado bih probao.
Slugove ne, samo kalup. Linke ču staviti odpis videa kad jih dobijem...
Hey my buddy, in your next video I want you to lay on that bench and press that weight up and say this is for one of my viewers John. Lol.
OK, will do 😆
I want a mold 22 cal
this is for sale
Hi. Just talked to Miha, he will send links for ordering in about 2 days...
I will add the links to this video description once I have them.
@@gregorkamensek3923 ok
Basically.
I am saying that word too often :)
