Great lesson, also if you wanna spice it up add the 1st frett on the b string after the d chord to add that feel from the recording, great video dude!
Can you explain this a little more?
@@danijel8494a regular D chord, then move your hand so the notes are: D string open, 2nd fret on G, 1st fret on B, and 2nd fret on high e. making a D7 cord. i use my middle, pointer and ring finger. hope this helps
Broooo you killed that. Thank you!
You are very welcome bro!! 😁
Omg i thought i was being attacked when the video began my adrenaline went through the roof beyond fight mode and run mode that i froze in complete fear and confusion then hallucinated for 20 minutes
I owe you my life logan
You make learning so easy thanks bro
YOU ARE SO WELCOME
My all time guitar song❤
Absolute legend
thanks :)
Thank You 🙏❤
the tutorial is well made indeed! but you know, just a correction on the right end, the sam elliott cover is actually a cover of the original johnny cash song, which tom petty then did his version afterwards, the sam elliott cover is much closer to the original johnny cash song, it's just a little bit of history, you did a good job with the lesson! :)
Thank you brother! Love this movie
Ty so much, it really helped me out
Thank you! I have been wanting this version but only found the Tom petty version
You are so so SO very welcome my friend :)
Can you please do one for You Broke My Heart, So I Burned Down Your Farm?
The movie was such a masterpiece
Quick question about the A Major chord here. I was looking at another video about how to do that chord and in that video it's saying to only strum the middle 4 strings(vs the usual A major where you strum the first 5 strings) which makes a lot of sense because I currently can't barre the middle strings without muting the first string. I just wanted to confirm that that's what you do here? Or are you able to make a wide enough gap to not mute the first string and then strumming all 5 strings?
if I understand your question correctly, then yes. make sure you do not strum the low e string ( the one closest to your face) as that would then make the sound muddy... but if you are talking about playing the high e string (the one closes to the floor) that is perfectly fine. the note E is in the a major chord, and so even if it gets strummed out that is okay. I might mute it though anyway and that's ALSO not an issue. Hope this helped Ben and sorry for the late response
My name is Logan 😄
Is this in standard tuning?
What tuning do you use for this song?
hey bro awesome Tutorial i will sing this song on Prisons christmas Celebration.
Can u give me a helpful Hint for singing the Song i would sing deep, what u recommend. Sry my English not the best. 🙂
Hi sir may i ask what guitar you are using, its really cool!!!
Which guitat you use?
It would be easy IF ONLY I HAD LEARNT THE EADGFE CORDS AND NOT THE 123456
On the a major is he strumming all the way down or just the three?
Really helpful, thanks for this vid friend. Time to stand my ground against this learning process
Hey jyamaal! You are so very welcome :)
Just don’t back down 😉
👍👍
the song is called wont back down by tom petty if anyones interested
yup. And the specific version I am teaching is a cover done by the legend Sam Elliott. It can be found on the Official Barnyard Soundtrack.
This Is hard, the strum isn’t easy to see I can’t tell how to do it
I explained in the video. If you would like further explanation, I do offer private online lessons (and you can get your first one for free, and I can help you out there)
Whats the guitar tuned to
This version of the song is actually johnny cash's version
What’s the tuning
Hey my names logan and I won't back down
Square up
What tuning is it
What kind of a is that??
What scale is this?
So why did you make it look so easy when it’s not?
Just takes time
Isn’t this the same as the Johnny cash version?
Foda dms
I only learn this so I can sing this in the deepest voice I can muster when me and the boys win a game of war zone to set the tone for the losers that have to listen
Tabs please,
Could you show at the beginning of the videos or during the video, just play the whole part out loud so we can see how its played all the way throught next time.
Its sad how most of my friends dont know what barnyard is
Get yourself some new friends my guy
@@LogansLessons Ikr
“Now we do an up stoke on your D” 🤔 what?!
Great lesson but man it’s Johnny Cash cmon now
Tom petty wrote and sang it originally and Sam Elliot sang it in barnyard. Johnny cash redid his own take of it.
Can you post some notes?
Thidls is more complicated than the accual tabs
maybe hahaha If I remember correctly I learned this by ear...
Always remember we must repent of our sins (sin is transgression The Law Of Yahuah The Father in Heaven. The Law are The Books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy). We must repent of our sins and Have Belief On Yahusha The Messiah. HE Died and Rose three days later so that we can be forgiven of our sins!
Come to HIM🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
I don't play this in the style of Johnny Cash like Sam I am more like Tom when I cover this song. Dude you absolutely Taught this the hard way with bar chords for other people in the A base you should have taught it in the G note base
the goal of this tutorial is not to cover Johnny or Tom... Its to play it as it was played in the film, Barnyard. (Sam Elliot singing) I apologize if this was not what you were looking for. Hopefully you find what you are looking for! Have a good one my friend
@@LogansLessons First off if you had a clue what you were talking about you would know that the barnyard version is the take off of Johnny cashes version.
Dude when it comes to all that is Called music you are way out of your league to even try me.
It looks like someone's Isn't quite happy about his Johnny and doesn't have a lot of cash lmao nah seriously tho a keyboard warrior if ever I've seen one 😂
@@jeradjones9528 wow you suck
Um not Sam Elliot’s take on the song. It’s Sam Elliot doing it as Johnny Cashs take on the cover.
nope shitty for me
I agree, that or I’m bad because I swear I hear him say something and watch him do it differently than his instruction.
But yet again I suck and Im probably just doing this wrong
