@@SilverLinin_ bruh, I might not be alive by that time lol. Games with a 12 year development cycle have all been bad too. My problem is I see what they have produced, and I see what is still on their list. Unless they have been holding back a lot, this will be at least 5 more years.
@cmike123 nah, give it a year or year and a half, and we'll have a build to play with easily. Will it have a full end game? Most likely not, but the politics with nodes will be goofy
@@SilverLinin_ We'll see when Alpha 2 drops. They said the secondary class system will be available. I'm still skeptical because only 5 out of the base Archetypes have been shown. I'm not negative for no reason. I've been watching them. I'm hopeful, but concerned.
I have to say I am very impressed with the team at Intrepid. I really did not expect them to dive into this level of software development. Sort of. 1. Star Citizen is "action combat" where you will have to aim. So it's harder to do for them. Star Citizen is also a much more massive game. 2. They've been working on this for years as well. They didn't just decide to do server meshing last month or something. 3. Technically, they haven't done it yet. It's on track to be online by Sept 30 at the latest. So it could fall apart before then, but that doesn't seem likely.
Ashes of Creation server meshing is almost exactly the same setup as Star Citizen, except AoC has a lot less extra technology required, simply because Star Citizen is trying to be a realistic simulation spanning accurately sized star systems/universe so the servers, the mesh & the networking structure have to support a lot more real-time simulated data compared to a more simplistic MMO like WoW and AoC

That more so is affected by optimization, poor optimization means even beef pcs can't handle big battles. If they optimize the game well enough, then even PCs a Gen or two behind could handle it decently enough
I think they already pulled it off. If it's on track to be done by Sept 30 at the latest, even if they run into problems, they will get it done. It's too close to completion to not happen at this point I think.
Star Citizen Static Server Meshing is coming with 4.0 this year, but their end goal is dynamic server meshing which is pretty much sounds the same way as Ashes's with the idea of one mega server made up a bunch of little servers that merge or turn off and on depending on population and tbh SC server meshing is alittle more impressive given the scale of the star systems and throwing massive ship battles and base building on top of that.
@@odsgaming105 I just want more games to adopt server meshing technology like what SC and AoC are doing. Imagine a mmorpg that has no loading screens ever and has the whole population on one giant game space handled by a multitude of servers instead of one server one world.
@@Latinkuro This concept applies much more to some MMOs than others. For Ashes or SC it's very important considering the gameplay loops, but for other MMOs it's probably not worth the money to build an out of engine stack just to do this.
And you were gonna sleep on this one. Seeee. Tech-related stuff ain't THAT boring. Lol. To clarify, Intrepid is doing something a little different than Star Citizen if i picked up on it right. They're not utilizing a replicator like Star Citizen is. They're just doing direct server to server communication.
Yeah, it's pretty complicated tech, especially to try and get into in a short livestream, let alone youtube comments. There is still replication. It's just done in object or actor containers. There was a section where they talked about the containers for all these different actors, and it keeps them from having to rely on a single replication layer or server. Technically, when star citizen gets their dynamic server meshing up and running, it won't rely on single server replication either. They are trying to have true persistence in the game world, and it's just not feasible. Basically, the same problem and realization intrepid came to. Slightly different approach in how that replication works and how it's stored and communicated.
Let 6s not also lose track of confirmed announcement stuff - July stream is BARD, A2 DATE, oh and.....MORE A2 KEYS TO BE SOLD "soon", as in nothing to do with waiting for the population to drop 🎉🎉🎉
