- Modifying my BMX bike into something that looks like a mtb fatbike but still feels like a BMX bike.
I made a bracket to fit my offroad car tires on the bike, making it almost too heavy to ride, but still worked.

Yeah man, you gotta put washers/bearings/nuts on the outside of the hub, and a metal sleeve barely larger than the axle needs to go over the axle and tighten up the distance between the sleeve and the hub hole/flange diameter as much as possible!
I remember riding some kind of vehicle (go-kart, bike, etc) we made as a kid, and I had a wheel problem where it went side to side just like yours is doing. It was almost impossible to just go straight on a flat street! Can't imagine a effin' hill?!!
One last thing...
I can't believe the tubes or the welds held up (I'm still jealous though - I can't weld...yet)! I would definitely try to find something way lighter because that side to side movement was taking a little stress off the joints, but once you lock that wheel down - you're gonna start ripping it without a doubt, and I doubt she'll be able to take much as it is now? Maybe throw an extra little cross brace at the top of the forks, a few extra welds here and there... things like that, but idk how long if ya keep those current wheels haha!

One thing that would help this work better is a tire with a much more rounded profile, more like a motorcycle tire than a car tire.

It would make way more sense to just use a set of Fat Bike wheels and modify it to work. You could even use a Fat Bike width crankset and make it work. Although, SE already makes Fat BMX bikes so it would be kind of pointless. But car wheels? Why?
