i'm not sure why but i'm starting riding again after falling off last year and it really scared me, your videos have inspired me to have more confidence and to keep trying even if you fail, thankyou :) you deserve more than 5k i'm not sure why you don't have more ❤
Never be embarrassed of your old videos, they only demonstrate how much you've improved. You actually have a really good seat in all these videos and definitely have a natural skill in the saddle, you should be very proud
Love it! Little Sammy ❤️ And Toby 2 was so cute!! Also forgot how much Laura used to make me laugh 😂 Definitely not one of the instructors that needed the speaker thing, she was so loud!! x
Hahahha this is great Amazing video 💕💕 u look great Ted is so cute💕bye that second fall looked fun lol did it hurt lol 😂 keep it up💕 you look amazing on every horse💕
I also had a little Sam😊but he was called Asher but he was the exact same as that and he tucked in his little head and was absolutely wicked at jumping but aww🤗😂💘also I love your channel
my favourite fall was the second one you just lied there on the xc jump having a day dream about all the good times w/ you're friend and familly i just couldnt stop laughing
i am not being rude, genuine question.... is it common in Europe for people to ride with their feet all the way in the irons? i come from Canada and we are ALL taught to have the ball of our foot in the irons and nothing more (big toe ball) i am just curious. i have noticed with many riders from Europe and at all levels.
Erica Bigras We are taught to have only the ball of our foot in the stirrup too. Unsurprising, as an inexperienced rider trying new exercises for the first time, my feet didn't always stay in the correct place!
PonyCam if you want a trick, i used to do, and make my students, take irons/stirrups off the leathers, and ride with no stirrup and hold the stirrup on your feet. your legs become longer, stronger, your seat becomes deeper, and your heals are forced down, in order to keep the stirrup on your feet. :) its tough but helps tremendously.
Actually it was one of the few times my body protector has come in handy. I landed right on my lower back on the edge of the jump, but the body protector spread the impact out and it didn't hurt at all 😊
Omg! The piebald is adorable! As is Sam! Oh, I wish you had more videos of them. Was Sam a little Arab mix? I have an Arab sport horse, basically a fancy term for Arabian crossed with a warmblood. Ted looks to be a little uneducated about jumps and seems to throw himself at them, not quite picking up his front legs either. It's fun to watch old videos and see how far you've come.
Raven Sam is pure Welsh section B 😊 Ted was actually a pretty nice little jumper, he was just struggling a lot to make the distances in the grid work clips, which is why he’s throwing his legs forward over them! x
Your guess is as good as mine! No unfortunately I don't have my own horse, all the lovely horses/ponies featured in my videos belong to a riding school 😊
You know Sam she would have been my dream pony because I've always wanted a pony like her but now I have a superb cob 13.2hh his name is toffee and I think personally you are a really good 😊 rider
I loved it!! But all these years and you always jumped the same height? I mean have you ever wished to raise the poles at some time? (Just pure curiosity)
Sara M I've jumped bigger, but have never got it on camera, but to be honest I've never been very bothered about height, I'd rather focus on & improve my overall technique 😊
Well done! Your improvement is like black and white you have done so well! Toby is so much like rodger but a lot more stocky haha! And was sam an arabian he was stunning! Well done x
Where around is your stables based?. are your horses all owned by the riders we see in this video ? do you do lessons? and if so do you do lessons with children (about 14 years of age)?
nature Lover122 The stables is based in Oxfordshire, UK. All the horses in this video belong to the riding school (there's only one rider in this video). Lessons are mixed age - in my current lesson the age range is from about 9yrs old to 60 😊
PonyCam oh cool because I'm from SA and I love horse ridding I don't know where I will be moving to in the Uk but I hope that u will be expected to the school if I apply and do you have a website?
Ruta Kr. A few reasons: 1. There’s no need to. I’ve never based the level of my riding on how high I can jump, but rather, how much I have improved in terms of being able to ride more difficult horses successfully, and how much better I am at improving the horse I’m riding’s way of going in a lesson, compared to how I used to do it. 2. It’s a riding school, and one that it’s very careful of its horses legs (there are ponies who are still sound and going cross country schooling & jumping small showjumping courses into their late 20’s and early 30’s at this yard). The horses are often jumped several times a week, sometimes twice a day, so to jump ‘big’ would be incredibly unfair on them and risk their health much more than a privately owned horse that may only jump once or twice a week. 3. Connected to the above, if I owned my own horse I would almost certainly have tried jumping higher, but I don’t. I am only able to jump what is appropriate for the riding school horses & ponies, which I don’t mind at all as jumping any bigger is of much less interest to me now compared to when I was a teenager and assumed ‘bigger was better’. 4. A lot of people assume that because I have been riding a long time, I should have improved a lot more that it appears I have, but I ride for one hour a week in a riding school and can only do whichever exercises/jumps my instructor tells me to - improvement comes from repetition and if I were riding 5 times a week on my own horse I would improve a lot faster. If you learn the piano and only got to practice it once a week, you are never going to get to the same level as someone who buys their own piano and gets the practice whenever they want, playing whichever songs they choose, throughout the week/month/year. Sorry that was so long, but there’s a bit more to it than a single answer 😊
@@PonyCam now I understand! I'm thankful for your long and clear reply, some people would just ignore me. I hope you didn't take my question as offensive though, because I think you're a great rider and I really need to learn some stuff from you
Topzoe Jay and Toby have both sadly passed away since these videos were taken (they were both quite old), Sam went back to his owners as he was only at the yard for a year to be brought on, and Ted & Casey are still at the yard, but they’re both older now so I don’t ride them anymore :-)
Mollie Reeves She was honestly one of my favourite instructors I've ever had! She was just very 'to the point' and didn't have time for anyone who wasn't taking the lesson seriously 😊
Not really (fortunately!). There were times when I'd be a bit worried if I'd had a bad ride the time before (fallen off, been bolted with, etc.), but because I always got straight back on when I fell off, or did the exercise again if it went wrong, even the bad rides ended on a positive note which meant my confidence was back up for the next lesson 😊
Primrose14 16 I honestly loved riding all of them! Casey was the most difficult as she would sometimes be a bit mare-ish or put in a very dirty stop at a fence, but she also taught me an awful lot. Ted will always be my favourite because he's the first pony I rode at this yard and the one who I learnt the most/improved fastest on :-)
Because it's completely normal for all riders to have obvious flaws in their position when they are inexperienced and still learning - no one starts out riding like Charlotte Dujardin! :-) x
Lauren MD And Olivia MG SSOCV My leg was a bit long for some of the smaller ponies, but I only weighed between 105-112 pounds in these videos, so not too heavy :-)
That fall on your back on the jump... must have hurt your lower back? (even with the vest on). Nice to watch the progression. Just watched your QA video: ruclips.net/video/WOQmDUoDU9c/видео.html
Actually it was the one and only time my body protector has been some use! It stopped me landing with my back directly on the sharp edge, so I barely even had any bruising :-)
Just saying, you really pull on the horses head over the jumps and that is very painful and difficult for them because then they can’t stretch out as much as they need too. Just a tip.
Firstly, I disagree with you slightly, while I was not very good at giving with my hands (still something I struggle with today!), I always let the reins slip through if there was/is pressure from the horses mouth during the jump - it doesn't look pretty, but it stops the horse getting pulled if I get the jump wrong. Secondly, the most recent clip in this video is over 6 years old (which is why the title is 'old riding raws' and I put the dates on all of the clips) and I have improved a lot now I am an adult rider and have many more years experience :-)
Your instructor sounds so nice!!
i'm not sure why but i'm starting riding again after falling off last year and it really scared me, your videos have inspired me to have more confidence and to keep trying even if you fail, thankyou :) you deserve more than 5k i'm not sure why you don't have more ❤
lilyonline well done for trying again! Your very brave :3 I can't ride again, my injury hurt my body too much. Good luck!
That's so lovely to hear, good luck and I hope your riding goes smoothly from now on! :-)
SweetWaffles xx thankyou so much x
PonyCam thankyou :)
Its a fall, I am sure you wont die it. I have had a lot of falls, just get back on
Ponies featured:

PonyCam Toby is so cute!
PonyCam I

I have never seen jay how is she doing now
Never be embarrassed of your old videos, they only demonstrate how much you've improved. You actually have a really good seat in all these videos and definitely have a natural skill in the saddle, you should be very proud
You fall so gracefully oh my gosh
Hamilton and Horses Haha thank you 😅
I'm actually so jealous when I fall I just flop over and it looks bad but you're just like okay so we're doing this alright let's go
Love it! Little Sammy ❤️ And Toby 2 was so cute!! Also forgot how much Laura used to make me laugh 😂 Definitely not one of the instructors that needed the speaker thing, she was so loud!! x
You could always trust Laura to tell it like it is! 😂 x
PonyCam Haha yeah I liked that 😊 Straight to the point! x
You look so natural when you are riding. I look like a burnt chicken nugget 😂❤🐴
Its great to see how much you've improved over the years!!!
Hahahha this is great Amazing video 💕💕 u look great Ted is so cute💕bye that second fall looked fun lol did it hurt lol 😂 keep it up💕 you look amazing on every horse💕

Wow some of the jumps were super high ad scary haha! well done! :D
You look so so much better in your new video s
You've improved so much
omg at 1:13 Ted tried putting in a full stride at the bounce jump i was dead 😂😂
Awhh Toby jumps really gently
You've improved so much! Wow 😱
I can’t get over why your stirrups look so long to me in some of the clips, but amazing riding even for being less experienced!
I actually love your Videos the do awesome ❤❤🙏🙏
Loved this video post more of these if you can 😊💕
Love this!!😍😍😍 are you going to do a 2012-2016 vid?😀😄
I also had a little Sam😊but he was called Asher but he was the exact same as that and he tucked in his little head and was absolutely wicked at jumping but aww🤗😂💘also I love your channel

U are a very good rider I love your channel very much X
Toby is so adorable!
toby's jump was so cute
ahhh the old memories
my favourite fall was the second one you just lied there on the xc jump having a day dream about all the good times w/ you're friend and familly i just couldnt stop laughing
i am not being rude, genuine question.... is it common in Europe for people to ride with their feet all the way in the irons? i come from Canada and we are ALL taught to have the ball of our foot in the irons and nothing more (big toe ball) i am just curious. i have noticed with many riders from Europe and at all levels.
Erica Bigras We are taught to have only the ball of our foot in the stirrup too. Unsurprising, as an inexperienced rider trying new exercises for the first time, my feet didn't always stay in the correct place!
PonyCam you have a good seat tho!
Thanks! Better now than it was in these clips! but to be honest I think my feet still end up through the stirrups half the time 😅
PonyCam if you want a trick, i used to do, and make my students, take irons/stirrups off the leathers, and ride with no stirrup and hold the stirrup on your feet. your legs become longer, stronger, your seat becomes deeper, and your heals are forced down, in order to keep the stirrup on your feet. :) its tough but helps tremendously.
Did it hurt when you fell onto the XC jump? It looked really painful 😖
Actually it was one of the few times my body protector has come in handy. I landed right on my lower back on the edge of the jump, but the body protector spread the impact out and it didn't hurt at all 😊
love it! was Sam a little welsh pony? he looks very similar to my boy, he's a section B :)
EllieEquestrian Yep Sam's a Sec B 😊
If you don't mind me asking how old are you now?
How many school horses or ponies do they have there xx
L Private There are about 20 school horses/ponies, then about another 12 liveries x
Sam though😍😍😍❤️
Omg! The piebald is adorable! As is Sam! Oh, I wish you had more videos of them. Was Sam a little Arab mix? I have an Arab sport horse, basically a fancy term for Arabian crossed with a warmblood. How are you getting so many subs in little time? :o ~~ you look like you're having sooo much fun! ❤️❤️ do you have any of your own horses??
Your guess is as good as mine! No unfortunately I don't have my own horse, all the lovely horses/ponies featured in my videos belong to a riding school 😊
PonyCam okeey 😊
I love sams canter I have no idea why he looks nice for dressage 😂😂
1:26 Is it a Arabian Toroughbred?
Exuse me 1:28
Corinne Masterstar He's a pedigree Welsh Section B :-)
You know Sam she would have been my dream pony because I've always wanted a pony like her but now I have a superb cob 13.2hh his name is toffee and I think personally you are a really good 😊 rider

PonyCam 12 Years you've been riding?! I've only been riding for 8 ❤
Wow thx for replying x
Sam looks beautiful jumping with that Arabian face XD

I know its rude to ask but how old are you
Brooke Harris 24 😊
you look so young!!!
Hey a quick question. You seem like you've been riding for quite a while and obviously you do a great job, but why don't you jump higher?
Ruta Kr. A few reasons:
1. There’s no need to. I’ve never based the level of my riding on how high I can jump, but rather, how much I have improved in terms of being able to ride more difficult horses successfully, and how much better I am at improving the horse I’m riding’s way of going in a lesson, compared to how I used to do it.

Ruta Kr. Not at all, it’s a question I get asked quite a lot and I can definitely see why people ask it! 😊
You're really good!!! wow
Where did all those horses go
Topzoe Jay and Toby have both sadly passed away since these videos were taken (they were both quite old), Sam went back to his owners as he was only at the yard for a year to be brought on, and Ted & Casey are still at the yard, but they’re both older now so I don’t ride them anymore :-)
PonyCam I am very sorry to hear that
PonyCam sam is a beautiful horse what breed is he
Topzoe Sam is a Welsh section B 😊
Ouch those falls looked painful my horse surprise does that so annoying can't blame her though she is only 5 years old
Amazing! 😍
Could I make an edit with some of ur pics plz?
Omg Sam is so damn cute 😍😍 is she a welsh pony?
Ups it's a HE 😅
the instructor when u were on ted sounded very strict and loud i wouldnt fancy getting on the wrong side of her xD still i bet shes nice
Mollie Reeves She was honestly one of my favourite instructors I've ever had! She was just very 'to the point' and didn't have time for anyone who wasn't taking the lesson seriously 😊
Casey looks like my pony Prissy 😂
Hey! You look great!
Do you ride at a stable? Sorry I'm barely new to this channel XD
Naomi Candlesmith Welcome! Yes, all of these clips and my regular videos are taken at the same riding school/stables 😊
2:45 R.I.P. ted’s neck
Did you ever go through a loss of confidence stage?
Not really (fortunately!). There were times when I'd be a bit worried if I'd had a bad ride the time before (fallen off, been bolted with, etc.), but because I always got straight back on when I fell off, or did the exercise again if it went wrong, even the bad rides ended on a positive note which meant my confidence was back up for the next lesson 😊
PonyCam ohhh that's good 👍
How old are you now? ;3
xXKatherineMikaelsonXx 24yo
Are they ur ponies ?
Abby O Neill No they're all riding school ponies 😊
When you have the same name as one of the horses 😂😂😂
Sam is like a dressage horse in canter but when he jumps he is like a show jumping horse p.s Sam is so cute
Who was your favourite and least favourite to ride
Primrose14 16 I honestly loved riding all of them! Casey was the most difficult as she would sometimes be a bit mare-ish or put in a very dirty stop at a fence, but she also taught me an awful lot. Ted will always be my favourite because he's the first pony I rode at this yard and the one who I learnt the most/improved fastest on :-)
As soon as I fall off I say to my
Mum ‘Did you get that on video?’
So you've basically ridden ponies your whole life
Omg her stirrups why are they at the back of her foot!!
Because it's completely normal for all riders to have obvious flaws in their position when they are inexperienced and still learning - no one starts out riding like Charlotte Dujardin! :-) x
you never ride a mare?
GIANINA AVILES Jay and Casey are both mares :-)
PonyCam ok sorry
Omg I didn’t know who JAY or TOBY
I also ride a horse named Casey lol
What was that first distance?
Sam is soo cute
Just wondering how old are you ??
no offence, but you looked a little to big for some of those ponies. I still love ur channel though!
Lauren MD And Olivia MG SSOCV My leg was a bit long for some of the smaller ponies, but I only weighed between 105-112 pounds in these videos, so not too heavy :-)
Does anyone else just want jay so badly
haha love this!
