Join me on an epic solo wild camping adventure deep in the wilderness, as I ride my dirt bike into remote forests to find the perfect camping spot. This journey combines enduro riding, hammock camping, and the raw beauty of nature, offering an experience of solitude and self-reliance.
Here is what happened on my first moto camp!
After a thrilling off-road ride, I discover a breath taking spot to camp with views of the valley and mountains. Setting up my hammock shelter, I enjoy a peaceful evening by the campfire, as I soak in the sights. As the weather turns, I fall asleep to the soothing sounds of a rainstorm.
The next morning, I wake up in a thick fog, alone in the quiet, calming wilderness. Rain droplets glisten on leaves, birds sing in the background, and the world feels fresh and alive. After a peaceful breakfast, I pack up my camp, mount my dirt bike, and set off into the unknown.
Navigating through steep forest trails and challenging terrain, the fog makes visibility difficult, adding to the sense of adventure. The journey takes me to a moor on top of a mountain, where the fog thickens, reducing visibility to just 15 feet ahead. Despite the conditions, I find my way back to the road, completing this exhilarating solo journey.

Me and a group of buddy’s did this once. We ride from Shasta lake city to Shasta lake and camped on the lake shore. It was nasty single track as soon as we hit the hills. Loaded down with backpacks food and beer. Memories I will never forget. Keep em coming

I’ve been wanting to do a dirt bike camp excursion for the longest time and this is giving me HUGE motivation to do it. You’re right, there is just something about dirt bikes and camping. Mix the two together and you truly have something magical.

I cannot recommend it enough, I thought about doing it for ages and worried about if i could hack it on my own but then i just went for it and it was more enjoyable than i could have predicted! Its great to hear that my video has inspired you, just remember to tell somone exactly where your going to be camping and a time of day you will be home by, (i have since baught a satalite phone gps just incase) solo adventures are incredible but dangerous, so minimise the risk, stay safe, and enjoy!
So true! Especially when you add riding into the mix. I broke my finger hitting a tree back in April. It was a small little crash but snapped my finger pretty badly. I’m so glad I had my friends with me to help get me to the truck and hospital quickly. I’m fully recovered now but it completely changed the way I think about riding solo too. I’m much much more careful now.
@notsoupmoto i have never had an accident touch wood, nearly had a pine tree branch take my eye out 2 days ago and had some other close calls but yeah just stay focused and keep on doing what you are doing and u will be fine, i checked out ur channel man you got some great vids, Huge veiws on some of them! This was a cool video, definitely interesting, especially because of the location, no people, I would watch more of these for sure, I'm going to get into this type of camping eventually, just picked up a 2024 Yamaha XT 250 and after the winter I will put register and plate it and start adventuring.

Awesome so glad you enjoyed it! I have 1 other wildcamp vid and planning more soon, defo recomend dualsport depending on what tyres u put on it u can do anything from high milage road trips, touring, to trail riding green laning and enduro, most all round useful bikes eithout a doubt, very versatile, i advise staying away from the hondas though! Ridiculously under powered, and so so so heavy, many better options, yamaha wr is a good one but yeah just keep researching, but them honda 300ls no good, only 27hp and weighs 145kg! Suspension is also terrible, whenever iv ridden with somone who has one they always struggle because of the bike...

I live in Scotland so I'm not short of wilderness and what better way to experience it than the way you have done here! Seems like a no brainer. Absolutely brilliant little bikes arent they! I love mine, unfortunately all my rear spokes came loose last weekend whilst leading a green lane event, and a few snapped, so shes out of action for a week or 2, i have re commisioned my yamaha wr 125r as a stand in while the rieju is repaired. I have se decent vids riding the rieju at enduro locations and up streams and hill climbs etc, im also taking it to mick extance next month! So thank you for subscribing and i hope you enjoy the other vids 👍
@@sm_uk (also im assuming you have de restricted the air box and un plugged the ecu restriction? Makes it feel a lot more powerful and gives it really good mid range torque, also if you go down to a 13 tooth sprocket instead of the stock 14, you can still hit 70mph but you can do wheelies way easier, also wheelies in second gear real nice 👌)

Looks awesome!.. Tip: if you put the thicker pieces of wood as barriers or lay them as a "floor" under your fire they will dry out and become better even if moist until they are needed.. it works very well.. i allmost allways do top-down-setup when i build and it becomes very low maintenance to keep it for hours.. .. thank you for sharing!

I thought your tarp looked too small for that hammock. You can also bring it down tighter to your hammock. Great adventure.
@@RonOrud i agree! I baught it cheap in a rush so i could get out comaping sooner haha, the second i got home i baught a DD hammocks 3x3m multi cam tarp, i used it in my other wild camp video, going out again this weekend to film another one!

A good little trick I've been using for years to get a fire started is cotton wool balls massaged full of vaseline! Pack them in a zip lock bag to keep them contained and weatherproof. When you need to get a fire started, tear a ball apart to expose some dry cotton wool and light. It's surprising how long and hot one cotton ball will burn for, even in high wind! Better than the bog roll method 🤌
Yes that does work extremely well, i used todo a lot of bushcraft when i was youngand would use a bow drill and spend ages whittling tinder and using fungi dust etc etc, have used cotton with farro rods, but never with vasaline, works great but doesnt burn as long of course.. old mans beard and other lichens work great, but this camp was so spontaneous i just headed out with hardly any kit, and i was going to make a cool bushcraft fire but was sooo hungry 😅 thanks for the tip off i will try the vasaline next time, next video on the way, location has been scouted, will probably go next weekend and post the week after so subscribe to see that and let me know what you think of it!

Looks like good place to camp 👌 little tip with the noodles, if you dont peel the foil all the way off you can fold it back down and they cook twice as fast in the steam

Great vid! Wish i could take my bike offroad. Get yourself a pocket bellows for your fire lighting 👍 Bigger tarp or lower it and defo need an under quilt on a hammock it's where you lose most heat.
I don't ride anymore but spent decades doing the same thing, was cool watching the vid, a cheap compass is great to at least know if you're heading in the right direction. 👍🇬🇧

A have been really wanting to do this need to get a decent camera first.
Couple of tips see when your chopping wood with the axe put a thicker bit under the bit you want to cut will get a better cut as it won't flex like it does when you do it into the soil. And see the stakes you made see the end your hammering see if you tapper the edges round the side that you are hammering down it won't make the wood split as much buddy.
A used to do lots of wild camps with just tarps ect as well. Not tried a hammock yet though quite fancy it.
See tbh mate everyone always expects different things just keep doing your own thing buddy as you can't please everyone. Your doing a good job at it so far buddy lol.
She's a cracking dog loved taking my girl german shep with me she loves running alongside my bike up the woods currently got a 1987 yamaha dt125lc and a 92 yamaha xtz750 super tenere just waiting on my full licence, just passed my theory today so hopefully soon mate chocking to hit some trails down south and in Wales also.

I hammock camp from my KLR too- I love my Haven XL. Your set up is pretty good, but I use a much bigger cil tarp. I like to be able to cover my bike as well. Panniers are the best way to distribute your weight.

Yeah that tarp was far too small, 2m x 2m, i have since purchased a DD 3m x 3m that i can fashion into a cacoon and lean to and all sorts of useful shapes to keep the weather out! Thanks for the advice, glad you enjoyed the vid :)

Dont worry i have lots and lots more planned, 125 is very fun and also nice and quiet, the rieju is definitely the best option, after lots of research it was the only bike better than my yamaha wr125r as it has the exact same engine but its lighter, narrower, and the suspension is proper enduro suspension, and the plastics can withstand crashes and bashes unlike the wr, so its definitely the best option, jut make sure you get a marathon pro, not just the standard, the pro has the powerful engine and the good suspension, you can de restrict it easily too, theres vids on youtube 👍

@@timotejm yes there is the rieju marathon, and the rieju marathon proz mrt just stands for marathon it isthe same bike, if you get a marathon125, it will have a low power air cooled angine and bad suspension, if you ge a rieju marathon pro it will be the powerful liquid cooled engine and good suspension, the best way to tell is if it has gold front forks (suspension)then it is a pro, if it has thin grey or black forks its standard, you can also tell as the standard has air cooling fins on the engine wheras the pro does not, make sure you get the pro as standard is pretty useless in comparison 👍

@danielkemish5009 absolutely mint, just make sure he gets the 18l, any bigger you cant really ride the bike properly, especially off road, it would help me massively if he gets them through the affiliate link i left in vid descritpion! Go for it mate! Obviously be responsible and plan properly and make sure loved ones know exactly where your going, good to be prepared but its the best experience! I was scared to go on my own but i just dove into it head first and it was so rewarding!

I”d recommend a much bigger tarp (DD) and a longer pitch between trees, anchor the tarp down so the sails provide better cover from each side, no rain getting in that way mate. Nice video man.

This is exactly what I want to do. Last time I've done solo camp on tea plantation not really captured video just minutes of riding my motorcycle through the tea plantation and get lost out of the track for about an hour until it gets dark. Too dark because of the mist so I cannot see anything. But it was a mission I really enjoy with my small 147cc bike 😅

@@MudSlingMX it's Suzuki Raider R (Vietnam, Philipines, Thailand) or Suzuki Satria F (Indonesia). A 4 stroke DOHC engine 147 CC.

love this kind of content sucks that its now getting towards the off season but gives time to look at new adventures for the warmer spring. temu actually has some fun gear for super cheap if u look up bits u aint gonna rely on i got paracord hammok tarps karabina etc off it qualitys not great but does the job and u can bin it after if it gets ruined like it often does.
Glad youenjoyed it, but dont you worry when it comes to me there is no off season 😉 im gonna be putting out videos all winter, the more extreme the better, so stay tuned! Already planned my next one in a weeks time!

If you go back and watch my christmas trf ride video, that was my first proper vid where i talked, and u can kinda see how different it was in my earlier vids, but if you know who your audience will be, for example if you know it will mostly be men around the age of 25 or whatever, you just chat like theres somone with you, easiest way is to just describe and commentate on stuff, like id ride along on the trail and just speak my thoughts out loud like "woah that was a slippy bit of rock" etc and you can even do it when ur not recording, if you were driving to work or even making a paper aeroplane or something random, just describe and commentate it like "right guys so now that we have our paper, we just want to fold it in half, then tuck the corner in..." and it will start off awkward and you will forget to say stuff outloud when you think it, and gradually it becomes really naturall and just conversational. But at the heart of all of it is just do not be afraid of being judged, people will like what you have to say and the way u say it, and some people wont, just like anything in life! And if somone makes a shitty comment, just feel sorry for them that they are that sad! The people who like your content will find you and stay loyal to you and that helps confidence even more
But yeah my main tip is dont overthink it, just chat away while your dustracted by doing something and you will get used to it

I just taped a a balcl peice of cardboard over the headlight and put some black tape over the tail light so people wouldn't see where my camp spot was if they saw the bright led in the distance, but the plastics on the bike, like the headlight and the mudgaurd etc are all stock ones that come with the rieju, they are fairly cheap to buy the mudguard would definitely fit other bikes. @@leonardofanucci5183 i use gopro hero 6 but im saving for a dji osmo action 4, as it it far superior and supports external mics, if you are on a budget then second hand dji osmo action 3 might be the way to go, dji better than gopro hands down, i have a video on my channel showing my entire filming set up and how i use it, i will be posting a video soon of the settings i use to achieve the best quality, thanks for watching :)

@@leonardofanucci5183 yeah they have a bigger sensor and better colour quality, setiings, and more user friendly, and dont glitch and crash / overheat like all the moddern gorpos, anything from hero 6 onwards has a lot of technical issues, so id get a 5 or 6 referb on ebay if on super budget but if u want the quality content id get a dji mate all day long 👌

I have been debating this since i baught the hammock, is it worth getting a cheap one off amazon, or should i just get a really good winter sleeping bag? Im trying to keep me set up as small as possible to fit it all on the bike, so if i have a sleeping bag and an under layer it might take up too much room 🤔
I got a cheap one off Amazon and it does the trick in the summer don’t think I would use it in the winter only problem is the room they take up it’s like having a extra sleeping bag not ideal for on the bike

This is some forrestry but the horses are are up on the mountain nearby, i think they would keep their distance from the camp! I bumped into them about 2 miles away from where i slept

@@everlast2658 6l tank, lasts 100 miles if im not going full send, but im very often ragging it tbh so gets a bit more thirsty, if im going for 100 mile ride and not confident theres a fuel stop i will bring 1l bottle with me.. on way home from the camp in this vid i hit reserve and then ran out of fuel just as i was coming down road to my house 😅 you got a bike mate?

Yeah its a powerful little 125 with plenty of torque, i take it to enduro centres and ride it up river beds and all sorts haha, never lets me down! Its a Rieju Marathon Pro 125 Enduro. Awesome man, im going to be doing a lot more moto camp videos, im still learning what i need and whats the best set up etc but its such good fun!
