I have studied graphic design creating media in adobe illustrator and InDesign. One of the things we got learned wich helps is just studying the topic or theme that your making your things for. If its a brand, look at what colors and shapes they use, it will help

As a graphic designer i must say great things come when you take inspiration from many things and mixing them in a certain style that attracts the human eye pretty much just like you did with your supra and you also reminded of a fellow designer that focused only on race-car liveries amazing
I reeeeeally appreciate this video. There's a ton of things I need to learn but I recently pushed myself and just finished one I'm pretty proud of. I have been to the Rolex 24 in Daytona several times and I loved this Patron tequila Ferrari that we saw each year. Well I mimicked that livery on a Celica gt-four. I'm pretty stoked about how it came out. The hashtag on the livery is patron so it should be pretty easy to find but I'd love you to take a look if you have a moment. Thanks again

Replace Decal… wow so I love that. I may start with a square, sharp corners, resize and reshape it and realize I want soft corners instead but don’t want to completely redo the piece. Replace decal is so handy here.

you gave some pretty good ideas. I have been doing this for years on Need for speed, The Crew 2, And Gran Turismo and I have been told that my liveries are some of the most realistic liveries they have seen. I try to make my livery look like the real deal. Google has some great livery ideas. If you can make your own decals. This sets you apart from the others because they might not have those decals. When you can't get a decal to look right on a car body try changing the camera setting in the settings. Anyway, if you of your watchers have any questions I'm free for answers like on how to make decals. anyway, thanks for sharing.
Hey Slyred, thanks for the note! I’ve found the creation of decals for GT7 is such a finite skill. It’s one thing to be able to make decals, period. It’s a whole other thing to make those same decals and get them successfully uploaded to gt7. I personally haven’t used the livery editors in those other games but I’ve sees the NFS editor in action and it’s pretty impressive. There are a lot of really cool presets.

That’s awesome man, I can’t wait to see how you progress. I really love the process of creating liveries. Sometimes I just want to sit down with a controller and “game” versus competitive racing and the livery editor lets me do that. Such a fun way to relax and pass the time.
Can't really say I'm a master livery design, but I do grew up with motorsports, sometimes interested whenever I see a livery design on race car (and also itasha apparently, or anime stuff, I usually try to combine both anime and race car stuff to make my own race car, that stands up from the other). Beside that, I also sometimes recreate a famous car's livery on other car (recent one is FM2 cover car on a Nissan GT-R Gr.4) Anyway, although I've seems to did (kinda) all the tips, joining a livery competition seems like a good idea, although I'm not sure where to start. Also your footage kinda like gave me a bit of refreshment of how I'd design my livery next, thank you for that So, thank you for all the tip, I do hope my livery can transform to a better way, although my friends says mine looks good enough, sometimes I feela like mine's too basic compared to the other designer in-game

There are some people that do simplicity beautifully, and other who thrive in chaotic designs. I can appreciate both for their merits because for me, it’s more difficult to make a simple design look really good, but when you do *chefs kiss*. So to make one big irregular white shape you had to use like 20 smaller distorted shapes laid on top of each other? (not how you would do it in Adobe llustrator)
You can’t search for a specific creator, which is why all my uploads use the GTJESSE tag. But you can go to someone’s page and then to their library and browse thru there.
Thank you! No GT7 coins for liveries although it’s not uncommon for livery creators to be hired to make liveries for esports teams or ad hoc requests. Just depends on the arrangement.

This might blow your mind but for the first 9 months of my RUclips channel I made all of my videos almost entirely on the PlayStation using sharefactory. If you wanted to share livery videos all you have to do is press the share button on the controller, then select the record option, then make your livery. Once you’ve finished your livery, stop recording, open ShareFactory and apply the speed up effect. Then when you save the video, you’ll be asked if you want to share it, you say yes, select RUclips and it’ll ask for your sign in credentials. Always share it as private or unlisted first, then go to your computer, sign into RUclips, edit the title, description and thumbnail if you want, and switch it from private to public once you’re ready for the world to see.
I’d love to see your liveries though! Have you shared them in GT7? If you have, maybe you can add me on PSN TCR_GTJESSE and I’ll pop into your gallery and have a look.

If you use the duplicate symmetrically option then it will usually work really well. Only issue is for the handful of cars that aren’t actually symmetrical, then they won’t line up the same on both sides.
My issue is a decals start flashing as soon as I start to edit them, tried playing with different settings but can’t seem to eliminate the flashing. Stops me from wanting to make one
@GTJesse so I've noticed super expanding basic decals works really well this is my first gt game on gt7 psvr2/ps5 and I'm loving the livery but can I sell them or make money from other players selling my livery or should I just keep it to myself
I would just make them public and if people like your work then they may reach out to hire you to do things they are either not capable of or don’t have time to do

The only standard livery I have is the Mazda 787b. Best livery for the best car ever made

When you say flashing do you mean they cut in and out?
@@GTJesse yes, it momentarily disappears/reappears. Even after leaving the editor it will continue to do it
I’ve had that happen before and if I adjust the projection range to align to surface instead of camera then it will fix it most of the time.

Some times If I do rear or roof it flashes but then I find it works if you pick OTHER rear or roof and then it works.
How do you do the roof in black?
Just careful use of the preset decals, shaping them to the body lines on the roof
The Japanese livery’s are the best I make a few but there difficult
