Umm it's kinda hard to explain but I'll try.
Melee has a quirk called port priority, if 2 players use the same move at the same time the player closest to port 1 on the game cube will take priority and hit and the other player will get hit.
Due to people getting so good at melee and fox being a dominant character for so long there was an inside joke in the community about people getting to the point where they were all executing moves frame perfect and the only deciding factor would be port priority to decide who will win, so there was a joke that went basically like "the year is 20xx, everyone is performing at a frame perfect level with fox so instead of playing the game people play paper scissors rock to determine who is player one and that determines the winner of the round" google 20xx if you want a better explanation haha
