I did a lot.of practice for this one...probably first try tomorrow night. I figure it will be standard chaos. That flat out chicane will destroy a car...those curbs are murder curbs.
@BobGiaquintoRacing I sent it too hard in the BMW and when I landed...it broke the front suspension...or maybe hitting the curb did...I didn't even know that could happen in iRacing.
I think for me I tried to aim for the exit sausage (the left one) avoid the right apex sausage as I felt my wheel was going to get ripped off. Seems like a technique that needs the car to warm up though, as lap 1 in both races had chaos there
When I ran the previous season in the 86 I had one setup and just adjusted fuel and wing per track. I was fairly consistant with my speed compared to everyone else.
@@BobGiaquintoRacing Ahh nice! Turned out the setup wasn't super important here because I used the default medium downforce and was able to get up to P3 due to wrecks before a couple mistakes got me losing a couple spots.
@ I feel like the majority of the time the setup isn’t always super important in this series, especially since there isn’t really a whole lot that can be changed. Then again I know literally nothing about setups, so who knows lol
I prefer this one in the MX5, but I hate that stupid little chicane. It ended my first attempt when I was in 4th. That Mazda guy should definitely be banned though.
@@BobGiaquintoRacing Agreed, get it right and it can make up some serious time..but one blip in the netcode and you're sailing through Narnia probably taking some other poor sod with you.
I'd be protesting the MX5 for the exit of turn 8 on the last lap. That was a clear swerve to block when you had to go to the apron to avoid contact.
That guy causes a lot of grief wherever he goes, he's been protested a lot and they don't do anything to him
I really should have. That was such crap. I get being frustrated you ruined your own race, but you don’t have to mess with anyone else’s…
Isn’t it sad you know exactly who will be a problem?
I was the #29. It was nice to start alongside you.
For the first chicane I go flat out. no braking or lifting just pray
Oh nice! Yeah I was way too much of a wimp for that chicane. Part of me is glad I did after seeing how many people binned it through there.

@ that’s for sure. ESPECIALLY in the Toyota.

Low key, I’m kind of dreading this one for myself.
It’s definitely messy, for sure haha
Whole field deserved to lose iR from that one. What a cluster. Backstretch chicane is easy flat in Mazda and 86, even on cold tires.
You can say that again. I was definitely way too conservative through that chicane
Do you switch up your setup or is it the same for every race? I'd do more of these races if I know how to do setups haha.
When I ran the previous season in the 86 I had one setup and just adjusted fuel and wing per track. I was fairly consistant with my speed compared to everyone else.
I just use one setup Justin sent me a while back and it’s been pretty good to me

I’m so glad they changed the chicane on the updated version. That one is miserable

I really hate the Charlotte Roval
@@jaguarusf the chicanes are easily the worst parts.
