Truly our great Michael is one and only remarkable unique creative pioneer. More importantly he is a relentless humanitarian charitable champion. A hero to be honoured and treasure for eternity.
@ANITACHEONG-em8mt you're more than welcome. He was such an incredible human and I (Russ) get very angry at how he was treated. So thus is my way of trying to put as much positivity out there as I can for him :)
Micheal is beautiful. His heart was pure. Haters dont understand him because of thier hate. To know him is to love him. Ithe little child he searched aiver for. The love and help he gave others 100 dollar bills to every homeless person he seen. The visits in orphanges. Hospitals. And thousands of other things he did for the world. That would take me all day to name. So.......why in the world was he hated and treated and took out of this world from us. He was all of love. I cant understand
I'm back like a spammer. Thank you Lauren and Russ for another wonderful reaction and soulful support for MJ's legacy. He hurt his knees here, usually he had some knee pads, this evening he didn't had any and in two days he was shooting Speed demon where he had to run. Thank you for talking about his true mission here on earth.
You're very welcome. I (Russ) have been a passionate supporter / defender of MJ for decades. I will neve tire and I'll always stand up for him. Totally agree with what you're saying about the Dirty Diana vocals. I'll get on that one soon. Regarding Lauren & MJ, we did a reaction to Human Nature live and she got QUITE flustered 😂
Song by Glen Ballard and Siedah Garett, Quincy put his magic on it and he brought the Andre Crouch choir, MJ took the song on other heights. Glen Ballard said this, continuing with approximately these words -we didn't wrote the part toward the end like this, with those pauses, ad-libs and overall feeling. MJ was one that literally put his feelings in a song. And what I love about this performance ( after all it's his voice, unaltered by pitch correction, autotune, etc) is the part toward the end where he goes live and call for unity ,, white man gotta make the change. Black man gotta make the change. Red man gotta make the change.,, I'm continuing watching.
Thank you so much Russ and Lorraine , great reaction to a great and otherworldly performance, I think this is Michael 's most passionate performance that he ever did, thank you so much Russ for explaining what Michael was saying by ' stand up for me brother ' most poeple would think he was asking to physically stand up while he was asking to stand up for the message he was trying to convey , ' look at the man in the mirror and change yourself for the better to make this world a better place ' thats his message to the world. ❤️🙏🏻
You're welcome! It's hard to believe people thought he meant to physically stand up that night but I'm happy to clarify for people who think otherwise. Thanks for watching and the comment :)
I assumed MJ was singing "stand up for your brother, stand up for your sister", as a way of saying people should stand up for others in need and help them? No?
You know I appreciate your reaction and honesty. I’ve been following Michael for years before I became a teen in the late 70s. Michael doesn’t do anything with out strategy. I’ve saw all his major tours in Europe. Although I grew up in America. But, that’s another story. I saw this performance on TV in real time. He performed this at 1988 Grammy’s in New York at the time. You know Prince was in the audience as well that night. Michael being the great vocalist he is. He’s always preserving his voice, especially when he is touring. So lip synchronization helps him. He had a show the next day in Madison Square Garden. Plus he was promoting “Man In The Mirror” at the time. So he knew this performance was going to be documented forever. He wasn’t going to botch his own song singing it completely live, when everyone was scrutinizing him. Michael became who he was by being cunning. On that night he didn’t win for that incredible album, where he wrote that many beautiful songs. I have a gift that will come out soon for all the fans and true supporters ,where being neutral is a must about Michael’s greatness. Stay tune for that. I’m also an artist myself. I will let you know and whoever would be interested. So you guys hit all the right notes in your review on this television appearance.. Appreciate that. His ad-libs was off the chain. Remember, he didn’t write that song. He only interpreted it. It was the great Siedah Garrett who sang the duo with him “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” on the “BAD” album. She was also on the stage in this performance. Michael learned how to interpret a great song since a child. The fact that he was touring the second leg of the “BAD TOUR “ in 1988 ,made this performance that sweeter. The Grammy’s messed up by letting Michael who change the course of the declining music business from 1982 on before the didgital era came in to existence like Napster etc. By 1988 his precursor was seen as not better especially after following such a phenomenal album like “Thriller”. Anyway. His global appeal became way more solidified after “BAD” was released. I expierence first hand, I wasn’t in the United States after this performance you just reviewed. A few months later I went to Europe. The world is a great place this song is a global message. The great Quincy Jones said they wanted an Anthem for Michael, they found it once he heard Ms .Garrett’s song. Anyway, sorry for the long comment. Right now I’m invested in a great project for Michael. Anyway, you will hear about it. Thanks again to you both. Make that change and keep standing up. No pun intended.😀
Thanks for the in depth comment! We made sure to mention that Seidah wrote it but Michael definitely put his own feeling and magic in the song. Regarding the lip syncing: I really hope everyone knows that we weren't saying anything negative about that aspect of the performance. Just making sure :)
@@InfectiousGroovePodcast It’s all good. I never saw that as a negative anecdotal from your side,by mentioning it. I went on to expound upon it, for those who were confounded by the fact that he at times lip synced later in his performances as he got older. Touring was rough. So I’m glad that you mentioned it.
@garfieldharrison thanks for the details. I've left here on the channel a comment abt the song itself, which was the product of a team effort, even if at its base was the creation of Siedah Garett and Glen Ballard. I read a lot about MJ's artistic career, interviews ( there is an website out there with his interviews throught the time, esp those for Ebony and Jet where he was more open and comfortable to talk abt many things), academic papers, books, his collaborators and colleague's memories. There are some fans that have on their websites interviews with people that worked with MJ, such as Brice Najar, for example. I've left this comment bc I see that you have a channel, and it's good to take and check several sources for any subject. You saw him live in Bad tour?? I don't see him ,,cunning,, bc he followed the TV rules, as I understand they just want the spectacle itself to be flawless. You can be two persons in one, he was very disciplined and goal oriented, and in the same time a very sensitive individual.
It's true that people coming together is a "Dangerous" idea ( which is really what MJ named that album for was that his ideas were dangerous to the power structure being media and politics. )
Great reaction. You both really appreciate his talent. I really would like to see a reaction of you of some performances of the Bad Tour Wembley. Like Billie Jean, working day and night, just can't stop loving you or Bad in Yokohama. He really is in a state of exctasy there. For me its his peak. Its like he is in union with the beat, the beat flows through him and expresses itself in flawless movement and vocals.
So glad you enjoyed our reaction and yes, we really love Michael Jackson. Please search the channel because we have a lot of MJ videos. We've done a few reactions from the Bad Tour and they're on our channel.
For me Michael passed down the torch to Chris brown and Bruno mars used to be usher but if you watch Chris browns new tour he’s just amazing but Michael is by far number one that’s why I really like Chris and Bruno especially Chris he gives it up to Michael any chance he gets I miss Mike eveydsy man love him forever he will never be forgotten
It would had been so good if his torch was passed down as an artist/humanitarian/pacifist. As an entertainer and visual artist and the standard for live shows and dancing and many other things he was followed immediately by many of his contemporaries, and we see him multiplied in so many performers, males as well females. But even if we put all of them together they are just entertainers, performers. They don't see their occupation as a platform for bigger things. That's why we respect him like this.
@duncanidaho8900 I think he woidk be so proud of the humanitarian work that Prince Michael is carrying on but I totally agree that no a artist has even tried to fill that void.
@@InfectiousGroovePodcast oh, yes, I was reffering to the entertainment world. Totally proud, he is such a beautiful human being. I was saying to someone that we can find MJ split in his children: one continues his humanitarian mission, one is in music and fashion, the third is involved in movies. I know about Heal L.A and events he does in his father's memory.
No no no the first half of the performance with the way you make me feel was lip synced man in the mirror was live he's just that good the bad tour and dangerous tour he also sings live and he sounds like the record

Among many other things, for sure. Our guess is that he wanted people to stand up against any sort of wrong that they could help right.
