These changes were small and arguably added to things. It was a fun change at the end. Sounds like Martin is onboard with it as well and likely liked it.
I FULLY disagree. You overlooked so much in order to comment that. And I HOPE they change writers. The crASS so called humor with an emphasis on ass was just disgusting and only funny to those with a low IQ.
@Coco_Loco95 in the books at least, Maekar didn’t want him to be a maester, but Maekar’s father King Daeron II insisted because he worried that too many male heirs would lead to a succession crisis and war. I have to wonder if it was Aemon’s idea, though, since no one else was sent to the citadel, kingsguard, or the wall. Certainly, when it was Aemon’s turn to inherit, Aemon refused and stuck to his vows. So he didn’t forsake the Citadel when he had the chance.
Really curious to see all the people who were slamming Maekar as a horrible person and how he has no love for Egg after this episode... the bit where Maekar just held Egg was sweet af and his "he's my last son" really showed where his heart is under all that bitterness... and part of that bitterness comes from his sons who he clearly loves... driving him up the fuckin wall
If Martin never gives us an explanation I'm going to imagine the reason Ser Arlan didn't knight Dunk - He hadn't actually been knighted himself. Went to war in his youth with his penny nailed to the tree, was traumatized but also discovered he was good at fighting. Came home and retrieved his penny, then various work and adventures got him enough money to have a sword and a low end shield made and, far from home, started calling himself Ser Arlan of Pennytree and doing knightly things wherever and whenever he felt like it. Like Dunk ended up doing.
He was definitely like dunk grew up pretending to be a knight and just kept going. He had very little training and just brute force and just kept winning.
I loved that Maekar saw how much Aegon hated his brother, enough to creep in his room to kill him with a knife, and I esp loved the ending with Maekar swearing 'Where IS he?!' asking for Egg.
I noticed it, and it made me pause, but it was 3am and I was so damn tired that in that moment I thought I was remembering the name of the show incorrectly because I didn't expect them to lean into Monty Python levels of comedy in GoT. lol
He "lost" Daeron, because he became a drunkard and failed as a knight. He "lost" Aerion, because he became an asshole and a monster (too late to fix that). He "lost" Aemon, because he became a Maester and gave up all titles, inheritance and (most) connections to the family. Aegon is hist "last" son, because he still is a good boy, honorable and (until before the tournament) around him and the family. Poor Maekar, as he at that moment realised he did not only loose his brother, but probably was going to "loose" his last son.
Unfortunately the name Aemond has been blacklisted by Targaryens. I beleieve Aemond one eye was the first and last Aemond Targaryen because of hiw terrible he was
Forgive me if this sounds corny, but I shed a tear when the vision of Ser Arlan of Pennytree turned left and went into the field alone. I thought it was very appropriate and heartfelt. It reminded me of the "missing man formation"--a poignant aerial salute, typically featuring four aircraft in a fingertip or V-shape, designed to honor fallen pilots. During the flyover, one aircraft separates from the formation-usually by pulling up sharply into the sky-symbolizing the departure of the departed warrior. 😢
It’s was basically the same scene as the fast and furious Paul Walker scene, shot from almost the same angle. Kinda cheesy to me but that’s just my opinion
If you watch closely Dunk actually looks back briefly towards Arlan after Arlan heads off in the other direction, as if he's seeing Arlan finishing his story. It's the little details like this that make this a work of art.
I think Maekar will calm down somewhat about Egg running off again once the upcoming event passes and he realises that he was in Dorne and was unaffected
IDK man, the housing & food security of Summerhall plus the free high-level training and no Aerion sounded like a pretty great deal... if I were Dunk I'd have taken it. You can always hit the road after a year or two. Also would love an explanation of Lyonel's position. That was confusing. Everyone knew Baelor was a good man.
Having Maekar not giving his consent also ups the stakes for Egg using the sigil ring. In the books they only allure to using the ring would certainly conjure up a reaction from the new Hand of the King.
The thing i took from Raymuns scene is that hes basically just established his own actual house so hes on the rise anyway so i dont think he really cares about Rowans station much. Once his plan of setting up his new Barrels and cider and getting that money hes way ahead of his shitty cousin.
I had more the impression he ddoesn't know much about pregnancy. The sotry is a bit strange because you wouldn't establish a new house with a pr0stitute as a wife.
yeah, and Dunk has enough experience on the street to where, even if he's a bit slow in some ways, you can definitely tell from his reaction that he realizes the baby didn't spring into being while Raymun was at a tourney. And yet, he's diplomatic enough to say nothing because clearly the two seem to love one another, and in Dunk's world, that's basically enough.
It’s an excuse to give more screen time for Maekar in the 2nd season. In the books Maekar allowed Egg to join Dunk as his squire and gave him a ring. I think Maekar would again meet both of them in the 2nd season and give his permission to Egg and Dunk
I honestly prefer the Egg lying change. It fits perfectly in-line with his character and Maekor can still get his full character development, just further down the line.
i don´t it pretty much changes everything happening next. It´s either a whole other plot with Maekar hunting down Dunk and Egg or the viewer always having to question why he doesn´t. I don´t really get why they did it either.
@wingthomaux”viewer always having to question why he doesn’t” Can’t it just be reluctant acceptance? It’s one thing for him to deny Egg going on the road with Dunk, and another to outright hunt them down, which would likely lead to an obligatory punishment and/or other issues involving Dunk- who he knows his son is fond of. Maybe he just realized that this would only cause further damage to his already strained relationship with his son.
Man they seriously hit the nail on the head with the casting for this show. I mean every literal role, that person is perfect. Even the "Are you Baelor Targaryen" guy was awesome.
This was a perfect ending scene. I like Maekar’s character, I think he’ll get super interesting in the next season if they hopefully write him into the show. The actor is doing well and has a great look.
@emergencyawesome do not forget when Lyonel asked Duncan under the elm tree before the Baelor funeral scene if he have been to Tarth, for me it is a reference to the theory that Brienne is a descedant of Duncan.
I'd be lost with out this Chanel you're knowledge on these tv shows & marvel films the way you break it down. Definitely one of my favourite YT creators
Maekar doesn’t actually agree to let Egg go with Dunk in the first novella. He leaves without saying anything to Dunks argument and then we cut to Egg showing up the next day, telling Dunk his father told him to go serve Dunk. Novellas are Dunk’s POV only, so it seems intentional that is point is left open. There is a year and a half from this ending to the beginning of the second one, and we know Maekar eventually comes around. But the show didn’t contradict Hedge Knight.
We all 100% assumed when we read it that he had the permission. Dunk's words got through to Maekar. It's funny to see that he just rolled out and took the ring with him. Ur right, we never truly know what Egg says or does when he's not around Dunk. Once the shock of it wore off, I rolled with it and had no issues. Get some bonus material in S2 off this cuz they ain't rolling around MIA too long when Bloodraven can find them asap if needed.
@jasonsahm439well of course we assumed, George wrote it like that. But in hindsight it must be deliberate that Maekar leaves without saying anything. You can interpret that as he went off to think (like we all did) or that he just walked off.
@GennieH It may still be a curveball and he did allow Egg to go and just played it off. Screenshots show Maekar missing the signet ring at the end. Did Egg steal it? Was it given to him in secret off screen? It's a fun idea to explore cuz we can psycho analyze Maekar til next season now. 🤣
I really like the Maekar character, he seems multidimensional - strong and weak in the same episode, commanding and comedic. I laughed a lot on the: is this a 600 years old andal fooliahness 😅
I'm so glad they added the comedy at the end. Sir Arlan riding off into the field... well it made me emotional. Made me think of Gladiator. So adding the jokes at the end cheered me up and ended things on a high note. Great video!
Since we see Dunk essentially imagine Ser Arlen riding off into the grass at the very end, I wonder if the moment where Ser Arlan "dies" and the comes back to finish his statement was also not something that REALLY happened but Dunk just wishfully hoping that he'd come back. Something imagined or hallucinated.
Maybe if they got rid of most of the co-producers, producers, co-executive producers and executive producers, then they could afford to make it like it should have been in the first place.
I gotta say I was confused about that scene with Sir Arlen riding off from Dunc and Egg. I didn't realize who it was. I'm so happy that Sweetfoot got to retire to a good home.
Am I the only one who thought Ser Arlan coming back to life to drop that amazing line was the show still leaving the idea of whether Dunk was actually knighted or not open? Ser Arlan could have pulled out his sword right then.
I’m going to be patient. Maekar was walking out, but that scene did end with the door still open. I’m not sure Egg would have been able to snatch that ring, either.
Hey EA...if you already covered this...forgive me. I don't remember hearing you speak on it but why did Tanselle just leave like that after Aerion broke her fingers? Did she know that Dunk got in trouble for defending her and almost lost his life? Will he ever see her again? I think she reminds him of his old friend who got her throat sliced in the flashback. I'm guessing that's what he looks at her that way. I just wondered why she rolled out like she did.
I love how Maekar a few minutes earlier says to Duncan with tears in his eyes: "He's my last son". And then at the end he screams in a rage, asking where the fuck he is 😂😂 BEST SHOW EVER!!!!
I really think Raymun Fassoway did not know how childbirth comes about exactly since it was shown that Rowan had to tell him that the Queen Bee was placed into the casket and the bees gathering was not magical.
we get historical facts from 2nd hand sources passed down generations in this universe - i think this is telling us something - maekar didn't approve of egg leaving, so egg leaves anyway, maekar instead ofd explaining his son ran away AGAIN with the SAME HEDGE KNIGHT that helped you kill your brothjer, injured your other son, and completely embarrased the houses name, i think maekar just accepts egg was going to do it eggs way and pretends he let him go. So the offical line that gets passed to the king and down history is maekar accepted dunks proposal, because its far less embarrassing at a time Targaryen's are incredibly embarrassed and WEAK. I think its that simple, its a PR spin by the royal family, and when you sum it up like that, thats all royal families do these days now they have no power, PR. Egg mugged off his dad one last time before leaving and Maekar is pretending he didnt get mugged off when he gets home lmfao. Meaning the official line that gets passed down is the one we thought was right, but instead its this. I like it, and we get to see the ring next season im assuming.
My wife brought it my attention. It is possible that Maekar did approve. That this scene is just for show. Maekar may just say he is missing like before. Perhaps he thinks it’s better than saying he let him go with Dunc. Less likely that people go looking for him or asking questions. He can always down play it later and say he is around or traveling. But that would be safer than saying he is riding around with Dunc.
9:30 -- I loved everything about this show but on top of Dunc, Lyonel Baratheon was a stand-out... I now wish he could get his own spin-off series. Just an amazing character.
In order to be a "post credits scene" it would have to appear post credits. That means AFTER the credits, or at least after "some" credits by intersecting them. This Maekar scene happens BEFORE the credits. That means it's a PRE credits scene, otherwise known as "the end". You can't count the "9 Kingdoms" card as credits. There would have to be credits in the credits to BE credits. Otherwise it isn't "credits", is it? So basically all you've described is just a standard ending. Which sums up pretty much the entire episode.
My guess is that meakar's rant at the end was cover for egg leaving with dunk. He wouldn't want the entire kingdom to know that a targarian prince was running around the 7, er 9, kingdoms with a hedge knight for security reasons if nothing else. By acting like he ran away again, and nobody knew to where, it gives them time to get away from the area where everyone knows the dunk-egg connection.
In the last scene where Arlan, Dunk, and Egg go their separate ways in the field, if you watch closely Dunk actually looks back briefly towards Arlan after Arlan heads off in the other direction, as if he's seeing Arlan finishing his story. It's the little details like this that make this a work of art.
To me, that seemed more believable than a grieving Maekar sending his youngest son off with a guy he met 3 days ago. I'm thinking that we'll get a flashback in season 2 that shows Maekar, having cooled down about everything, giving Egg the ring and his blessing. I actually think that as the audience, they'll lead us to believe Dunk wants to hide Egg's identity to avoid capture by Maekar and they'll wait for a few episodes before giving us the flashback
I thought the scene when his heart stops goes back when dunks heart stopped and it was alluding to him when he woke up pretty much saying “ his story isn’t finished”
My read on ser Arlen coming back to say that final line was that George long ago decided asoiaf would be a legacy release. I think it's all planned to come out posthumously.
We'll get a quick flashback on how Egg bouncing gets resolved in S2. Those two ain't hard to miss, especially with Bloodraven having a 1000 eyes everywhere. A unexpected, plausible, and fun addition to the story which doesn't need to be a huge deal in the end.
Maybe Maekar pretended not know about Egg in public to avoid the public believing he would allow the blood of the dragon to run off and serve some hedge night.
I really liked this series. Only complaint is that I wish the episodes were a bit longer. But the storytelling, humor, and actors were amazing! Looking forward to your videos for HotD season 3 this summer!
You should talk about the valeryons at the beginning of the episode when they were burning baelor. Slight tease of the after math of dance of the dragons
I think Maekar was covering for Egg and knew and gave him permission and his ring. Surely he would notice his signet ring missing. But instead of announcing "I am sending my son, a Targaryen Prince, out on the road to be kidnapped for ransom". He is playing the "he is missing again" card.
"A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms showrunner Ira Parker has expressed a long-term desire to produce 12 to 15 seasons of the Game of Thrones spin-off, aiming to cover the entire lives of Dunk and Egg, potentially spanning over 30 years with 10-year intervals between batches of seasons."

Can't wait to watch Season 2!
My Season 2 video will post tuesday!
and we dont have to wait forever! 🙌
Maybe we get to see the spring sickness and all of the suffering it cause.
Any book changes, while small, were stupid. I wish they would stop.
“Where the fuck is he!" Maekar asked calmly.
HP reference 😂
Too bad that sandor wasn't alive in this period, he and Maekar would have been besties! :))
ALVINNNN!!!! type shit
God I love these books and the fandom
@streetridersss8360 Parenting the cheekiest little menaces.
This whole season was done right. If they keep the same writers, directors etc.. it's going to be one badass run while it lasts.
Eh, I have a lot of worries. They deviated from the book more and more with each episode and we've been burned several times now before
These changes were small and arguably added to things. It was a fun change at the end. Sounds like Martin is onboard with it as well and likely liked it.
@garybartlett2064are you aware of the signet ring that plays into the next few stories?
@Captain_Insano_nomercyyeah that’s a good point. I’m sure they’ll do something creative
I FULLY disagree. You overlooked so much in order to comment that.
And I HOPE they change writers. The crASS so called humor with an emphasis on ass was just disgusting and only funny to those with a low IQ.
Maekars sons stay having him crash out 💀 Poor guy
The real Targaryen Legacy is an unbroken line of children pissing off their parents.
all his sons
@weserio I think Maester Aemon was the only one that didn’t piss him off. He was just a nerd lol
@Coco_Loco95idk man, nerds piss off their fathers all the time 😂
@Coco_Loco95 in the books at least, Maekar didn’t want him to be a maester, but Maekar’s father King Daeron II insisted because he worried that too many male heirs would lead to a succession crisis and war.
Maekar is quintessentially cool and perpetually grumpy ❤
Crash Out King
@obryn I mean, considering all of his sons antics, I’d be stressed out too
He seems much better suited to be in charge of House Slytherin than house Targaryen.
He his annoyed by his sons and mourning a brother
That scene Maekar catching Egg in the room was Cinemaaaaaa! God can't even fathom what was going through Maekars mind seeing what he saw
He was thinking I gota get this kid outa this environment
That was an awesome scene, it really did set the tone for everything before it and after it...
Maekar watching Aegon become mad like Aerion 🤷♂️
Feel like he almost let it happen lol
@andrem6760he 100 did and thus why egg has his sigil and gold sown in his boots
“Where the fuck is he??!” You can hear it in Maekar’s voice, he knew the answer before he opened his mouth.
Egg is such a cheeky little shit.
pretty much!
This comment deserves a Emmy
@SaurabhSiingh818 *clout to the ear
That little lying baldheaded shite
That's why we love him 😊
Maekar sounding like a father who has just *had it* with Egg's shennanigans.
“The caravan leaves after the roast” (followed by an immediate cut to the pyre) 😂
That line made my husband guffaw! Too funny!
The 7 made Barathyons so based. “Away with you witch”
Really curious to see all the people who were slamming Maekar as a horrible person and how he has no love for Egg after this episode... the bit where Maekar just held Egg was sweet af and his "he's my last son" really showed where his heart is under all that bitterness... and part of that bitterness comes from his sons who he clearly loves... driving him up the fuckin wall
maekar has never shown a bad bone, the people knocking him for defending his son, as crazy as he is, are clueless
Eh, allowing his kid to pull the trial move was pretty bad.
@cerberez1its not like he could stop it
@cerberez1 everything works in terms of leverage at that level if you are principled and start dying on every hill everything just implodes
I love how Egg has all the awesome fits, while Dunk wears the same outfit throughout. 🤣
The rich kid with the alternating drip
If Martin never gives us an explanation I'm going to imagine the reason Ser Arlan didn't knight Dunk - He hadn't actually been knighted himself. Went to war in his youth with his penny nailed to the tree, was traumatized but also discovered he was good at fighting. Like Dunk ended up doing.
Awesome theory!!
I reckon Arlan's shrug when Dunk was charged with knighting Apple Boy was him saying "Don't ask me, I don't know"
He saw so many pennies, he took one for himself and claimed a life for the death it represented.
He was definitely like dunk grew up pretending to be a knight and just kept going. He had very little training and just brute force and just kept winning.
I'm not convinced Dunc wasn't knighted.
I loved that Maekar saw how much Aegon hated his brother, enough to creep in his room to kill him with a knife, and I esp loved the ending with Maekar swearing 'Where IS he?!' asking for Egg.
Markets actor killed that last episode!
when watching the episode my brain didn't even register the "A knight of the nine kingdoms" joke
I noticed it, and it made me pause, but it was 3am and I was so damn tired that in that moment I thought I was remembering the name of the show incorrectly because I didn't expect them to lean into Monty Python levels of comedy in GoT. lol
"He's my last son" poor Aemond.
lol
I thought it was last as in "last born"
*Aemon
He "lost" Daeron, because he became a drunkard and failed as a knight.
He "lost" Aerion, because he became an asshole and a monster (too late to fix that).
He "lost" Aemon, because he became a Maester and gave up all titles, inheritance and (most) connections to the family.
Aegon is hist "last" son, because he still is a good boy, honorable and (until before the tournament) around him and the family.

It’s was basically the same scene as the fast and furious Paul Walker scene, shot from almost the same angle. Kinda cheesy to me but that’s just my opinion
I cried like a baby.
@zoomunzoom5893in times like these maybe we need cheesy.
@hectorsanchez1377💯!!!! I do, anyway.
If you watch closely Dunk actually looks back briefly towards Arlan after Arlan heads off in the other direction, as if he's seeing Arlan finishing his story.
It's the little details like this that make this a work of art.
I could see GRRM being in on the “knight always finishes his story” jape along with Ira.
Let’s hope 🙏
yeah but he is no knight
I think Maekar will calm down somewhat about Egg running off again once the upcoming event passes and he realises that he was in Dorne and was unaffected
Yep, Dorne was spared from the Spring sickness, probably due to its climate and a culture that emphasizes more on cleanliness.
@Bionickpunk They closed their borders as soon as the Spring sickness became known.
Yep their hands will be full with the spring sickness on the rampage and realize that Egg will be much safer anyway from the sickness in Dorne.
He knows exactly where he is...
Having Maekar not giving his consent also ups the stakes for Egg using the sigil ring. In the books they only allure to using the ring would certainly conjure up a reaction from the new Hand of the King.
likely the only reason egg survives is because he is in dorne when the great spring sickness hits
Absolutely loved how they had Sir Arlan ride in a different direction at the end.
lol "I'll have two chickens" was subtle?
If anymore words come pouring out your c*nt mouth, I’m gonna eat every fuckin chicken in this room
Thanks Charlie this season was great can't wait for the second
King of, Can't find my son!!!
I always love how you show the clip that you’re talking about before you start discussing it !! that part of your editing isn’t appreciated enough 🙏🏼
The thing i took from Raymuns scene is that hes basically just established his own actual house so hes on the rise anyway so i dont think he really cares about Rowans station much. Once his plan of setting up his new Barrels and cider and getting that money hes way ahead of his shitty cousin.
Green apples are good for making cider.
In the books he essentially does form his own house and the two houses both join with stannis and both lose at kings landing.
I had more the impression he ddoesn't know much about pregnancy. The sotry is a bit strange because you wouldn't establish a new house with a pr0stitute as a wife.
7:41 7:42 that lady is like 6 months pregnant. It happened way before this tournament..
Hope they have a peaceful green apple orchard life 💚🍏🌳
Congratulations Ned/Sandor, you are now a father 🤣
Loved the face of dunk realizing that she’s just conning raymun but they’re both happy so he isn’t going to ruin it.
yeah, and Dunk has enough experience on the street to where, even if he's a bit slow in some ways, you can definitely tell from his reaction that he realizes the baby didn't spring into being while Raymun was at a tourney. And yet, he's diplomatic enough to say nothing because clearly the two seem to love one another, and in Dunk's world, that's basically enough.
Raynun was a virgin teenager.
Rowan actually tells him about the birds and the bees.
It’s an excuse to give more screen time for Maekar in the 2nd season. In the books Maekar allowed Egg to join Dunk as his squire and gave him a ring. I think Maekar would again meet both of them in the 2nd season and give his permission to Egg and Dunk

Im glad they didnt do the original G.O.T. music. Its kinda smart because it makes it new an refreshing instead of feeling burnt out. Smart choice
I AM HOOKED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maekar rlly got a handle on the recorded history to save face never occurred to me that he in fact did not initially give permission
Knights of the seven kingdoms is the people’s favourite already, when you have friends messaging you about it, you know it was a great series
This show had the best comedy opening scenes, actually laughed out loud especially the finale.
With Maekar I'm like "Aww!" and then "F..k you!"
Not even three hours. I hope they make the second season longer
Ok and? Do you want a quality show or filler scenes added and tons of bloat??
Look up how short the first book is
I really like these shorter half-hour episodes, even though I'll probably binge them while awaiting season two.
Bro it was a movie. They made me watch over 6 weeks
@emergencyawesome do not forget when Lyonel asked Duncan under the elm tree before the Baelor funeral scene if he have been to Tarth, for me it is a reference to the theory that Brienne is a descedant of Duncan.
They could've used the Curb theme song and would've fit.
I'd be lost with out this Chanel you're knowledge on these tv shows & marvel films the way you break it down.
Definitely one of my favourite YT creators
Thank you! I appreciate that!
This scares me, may i speak with your master?
Perhaps he DID let him go and gave him the ring but doesn't want it to be obvious to the rest of the family.
Its sad that show is over but glad that we will get more. But Next month will be busy with Invincble, Daredevil and The boys can't wait
Yep!
Can't wait for next month😅
This whole year will be a feast for movie and gaming fans🤩

@jasonsahm439oh I didn’t look for the ring in still shots, interesting catch! 😋
@GennieHu know how wild GOT fans are with these little things. They had stills of the missing ring up within hours of the show ending. 😂
I really like the Maekar character, he seems multidimensional - strong and weak in the same episode, commanding and comedic. I laughed a lot on the: is this a 600 years old andal fooliahness 😅
That’s how are view Maekar,
Multidimensional, comedic,
I liked the laugh 😆 when Dunk clunk says 7 lances your grace 😂
I can't believe I missed that hints to grrm in regards to finishing the story. Well played.
3rd watch still can’t get enough
Awesome!
I'm so glad they added the comedy at the end. Sir Arlan riding off into the field... well it made me emotional. Made me think of Gladiator. So adding the jokes at the end cheered me up and ended things on a high note.
Great video!
Ending queue "see you again" as Ser Arlen goes another direction.
Bad arse egg! Love him!😂😂😂😂😂
Tennessee Ernie Ford with Sixteen Tons is an absolute banger.
I think it’s cool character moment for egg.
Just noticed the grey streak in Maekors horses hair makes me think he has have more of a connection
Maybe if they got rid of most of the co-producers, producers, co-executive producers and executive producers, then they could afford to make it like it should have been in the first place.
I took it as a knight always finishes his story as dunk deciding to finish what was started and accept egg as his squire
3:23 House Bracken? 😂
??? He said Baratheon.
Not enough Bee Magic 😭
Rest in Bees
Personally I don't understand why an entire colony of innocent bees has to get buried alive for some shitty lord.
6:15 it’s stupid to change the circumstances of Eg going with Dunc 🙄
they probably did it for future plans, adding more to the story
@jonashgrande39 I don’t doubt it, but sometimes they toy too much with the story imo
Trying to bring back Meakar for season 2.
And then at the end he screams in a rage, asking where the fuck he is 😂😂
BEST SHOW EVER!!!!
That meta 10:00 comment HITS! Solid catch and merits a new scribe.
Ramon such a good dude
My wife brought it my attention. It is possible that Maekar did approve. That this scene is just for show. Maekar may just say he is missing like before. Perhaps he thinks it’s better than saying he let him go with Dunc. Less likely that people go looking for him or asking questions. He can always down play it later and say he is around or traveling. But that would be safer than saying he is riding around with Dunc.
Thank you for sharing this. I was patiently waiting for your review.
I really hope we get more or longer episodes next season.. season 1 flew by
Yeah like 3 and a half hours, basically a long movie.
Look at the length of the books....
9:30 -- I loved everything about this show but on top of Dunc, Lyonel Baratheon was a stand-out... I now wish he could get his own spin-off series. Just an amazing character.
I’ve gotten the “A knights Tale” vibe with all the comedy and modern music
I love that it was an ad-lib that they kept in.
That Maester bit with Lionel was probably the funniest couple lines in all of GOT history.
GRRM just needs a full time ghost writer that he can tell the tales to and go from there.
I think he agre to Egg come with Dunk and that scene was for misslead everybody
By acting like he ran away again, and nobody knew to where, it gives them time to get away from the area where everyone knows the dunk-egg connection.
maekar will be back in avengers: doomsday
Any piece of media that has a child that doesn't annoy me is golden.
I mean a prince with only 1 guard is a target. So it’ be stupid to walk around telling everyone his identity, approval or not. lol
I thought the scene when his heart stops goes back when dunks heart stopped and it was alluding to him when he woke up pretty much saying “ his story isn’t finished”
Maekar is just a strict guilt ridden father who loves his Children. A warrior King
My read on ser Arlen coming back to say that final line was that George long ago decided asoiaf would be a legacy release. I think it's all planned to come out posthumously.
Come on Sir George, finish your story 😂
It totally fits egg to do it, but it definitely hurt maekar's character imo. Hopefully they have him change his mind in season 2.
How does it hurt his character, to not what his son to wander around the continent, with only 1 guard, whom he barely knows?
We'll get a quick flashback on how Egg bouncing gets resolved in S2. Those two ain't hard to miss, especially with Bloodraven having a 1000 eyes everywhere. A unexpected, plausible, and fun addition to the story which doesn't need to be a huge deal in the end.
You do great job on helping me out with understanding all of this! Thank you Sir!
Knight of the seven (nine) kingdoms feels like an extension of A Knight's tale even more now with the modern music mixed in. And I'm here for it.
Now I get why Maekar is so grumpy all the time.
Maybe Maekar pretended not know about Egg in public to avoid the public believing he would allow the blood of the dragon to run off and serve some hedge night.
"A true knight always finishes his story." 😂 Less talking, more writing, George.
❤ Hedge Knight. I wish HBO will continue to show this prequel.
