I was in love with Eastwood during the sixties and went all over London to see his films. Never realized then that he Woodhull become such an iconic phenomena as a director too.
Morricone is the Eastwood of motion picture soundtracks... when he came together with Clint and Sergio Leone... it was the greatest collaboration I've ever experienced on film.
Just got back from watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie and was so excited to hear two mules for sister sara playing!!! I have watched this movie for years and love that this piece was put back into action.
Both thumbs up. I remember watching this as a kid one night with me mam. The memory of that moment comes from hearing this piece of music. Granted, Django may have jogged that memory but I knew of this genre and its music long before tarantino hit the Spa.
I saw this movie when I was a kid, have love this sound track ever since and will always recognize it. Django used this soundtrack a nice homage to the old 60's western and Ennio.
That was it!!! I was just trying to think which movie had used this, that I recently saw. I was wathing Sherlock\Game -Shadows, and when this music played I burst out laughing and wondered : Who, in the generation watching this (Shadows) film, is going to recognize the music from 2 Mules.... I guess I wasnt alone.:)
It's good. In fact it's excellent. Many a mexican stand off I've had in my head with this tune in mind. After initial muse I'd usually skip to 2 mins 9 secs to initiate how I'd deal with stuff. Then I'd either go to ecstasy of gold or drive ost. Either way the confidence is high.
Was also featured on the new Sherlock Holmes movie where Morton Downey Jr gets to ride on a donkey. I think I also saw it on an animated feature somewhere also - not sure if it was Rango or Puss In Boots :D
Django Unchained, a Quentin Terintino Movie! Ennio Morricone’s music is very similar to the speratic and flavorful movies he makes. It’s a great match. I view Two Mules For Sister Sarah as a real GEM in movie making. My personal favorite movie of all time. I could watch any Eastwood western a million times in a row. Obsessed, maybe!
Loved the movie, only thing that always bugged me.... Shirley Maclaine's 1970's eye shadow! a "Nun" would never have make up like that. I know she was a Madam pretending to be a nun, so she should have made it more realistic with out the make up ;)
Wow. The start of this is a good example of a composer borrowing from a past work of his and doing a bit of a variation on it. At first I thought I was hearing The Sundown from The Good, Bad, and Ugly (link below). Both are beautiful pieces. watch?v=a5CcktzdtmE

Yes, Ennio thinks it matches so well that he said he'll never write music for a Tarantino movie again because Tarantino doesn't leave enough time and space for the music to unfold.
morricone not only picks unexpected musical paths but I love his sense of humour, kind of rare in a film composer

gran tema, bella musica

Morricone's Best Score in my opinion.
this is my favourite...
my favourite piece of music from Ennio Morricone... and that's saying something.
R.I.P. Ennio Morricone, such a talented man. Thank you for the incredible music you created!
Definately- I absolutely love Clint Eastwood. This movie and the score is epic!!!!
simply brilliant. chills run down.
This is simply masterful! The guy was a genius. I don't know if he still lives, but his music is so unique. It's wonderful.
Awesome, awesome, awesome!
Masterful imitation of a braying mule using woods and brass and the pacing of the animal using strings! Simply marvelous!
thank you for sharing-i love this movie i love Clint i love Shirley and i love Ennio
This was a good movie--Shirley Maclaine was so good! Clint E also!
Ennio Morricone, Henry Mancini, John Williams, Vladimir Cosma, Francis Lay, Michelle Legrand is the best movie composers
Clint made THE BEST westerns of all time..... and Ennio Morricone is the BEST EVER!
Just got back from watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie and was so excited to hear two mules for sister sara playing!!! I have watched this movie for years and love that this piece was put back into action.
They don't make movies and music like this anymore, let alone combining the two. Absolute greatness!
between Morricone and Rota I think you have the best music for films ever.
I shall now imagine Sherlock Holmes riding a Shetland pony while listening to this.
This movie was fantastic!
Two good actors!

Gran Torino was Awesome! They need it this one for that soundtrack!
i havent seen this movie in forever but i still love it.
belle composition du maestro!
it's too amazing to describe it

If I ever want to make a movie, I'm hiring Ennio!
thanks for upload !

Oh yes it is, you must listen to all the song!
It's like The Sundown isn't it? The bit when Angel Eyes makes his appearance at the farm...

Dangerous at both ends and shifty in the middle?
Morricone, Rota...and Herrmann

Did u know that Elizabeth Taylor was supposed 2 play Sara? Universal chose MacLaine after the popularity of "Sweet Charity"....
Who's going to replace Moriccone when he dies? Seriously? There's been a lot of pretenders but no one has come close to his legacy.
Thumbs up if you knew this song and this movie before django unchained!!!!!!!!!!!
Me too. While "Dos Mulas Para La Hermana Sarah" seems a little long for a title
"Dos Mulas Para La Monja" might work better.

Like i was thinking (11 years apart)! Too bad not many recognize the similarities
“It’s not as if Germany’s going somewhere.”
It is Ennio Morricone who rules in the Music division: but Eastwood rocks, too./
It's in Sherlock Holme: A Game of Shadows
yeah when he rides up to that house whehre the kid is on the mule, definitely.
م ن ينزل عندك فيديو
@FRANCOISGD it is my own favorites, and also some others.
Just saw this on GRIT (?) tv
@Elhardt I thought the same thing. Tarantino also used the piece in Kill Bill vol 2.
6 people disliked: lee van cleef, eli wallach, sheriff, the other three deaf. :(
@BlueCoPogo I could have sworn they used Morricone's Goodbye Cheyenne from Once Upon a Time in the West...
Cheyenne is a cool song too :) xD
"now where the hell does a nun learn to speak like that"
holy s#!t the resemblance between mr. Eastwood here and john marston from red dead redemption is unbelievably big don't you guys think?
for victor1978100. And also Maurice Jarre, Vangelis, François de Roubaix and many others.
