  • Talk about an innovative Bible design. There is simply nothing like this out there. Humble Lamb really approached the design of this Bible with one question in mind: What can we do different? They modified every aspect of traditional Bible layout and succeeded in producing something truly unique and stunningly beautiful.
    The best Bible out there, is the one you read! May God bless you and your Bible studies!

    Absolutely GORGEOUS bibles they have. I love the colors that are on sale right now. Translation is okay. And word of God on the spine is unique and so necessary. Humble lamb is a blessing. Lord willing soon, very soon I'll be ordering.

    I do extend them grace, however...this is a 220.00 dollar Bible. Spelling is one thing, but missing 2 Dore art is not a small error. How that got past all those involved is a head scratcher.
    Good thing is, they will be correcting those issues, and the Bible itself is GORGEOUS. I did buy one to support Humble Lamb, the reprint will give me an excuse to own a second copy. Maybe we will get lucky and get a few translation options.
    Awesome review! Bless you!

      And I received mine in Lunar Yellow two days ago. It is really beautiful and the quality is better than I have seen in my Schuyler Quentels. I do find the blue words of Christ to be a bit light, though. I would have preferred a darker blue. As for the errors pointed out in the video? Who knows? Perhaps someday this first edition will be a collector's item!

    The multiple ink colors and the thin Bible paper (even though this is thicker than most) makes for a more expensive printing process. More chances for jamming issues. This is a beautiful Bible. I have never paid this much for a Bible, but this is tempting me.
    It’s between the Shepherd and this one but the number of the pieces of art may push me toward the HIStory edition.

    I am very much wanting one of these Bibles! My darling daughter suggested that I get one in November for my "BirthMas" gift LOL (I think that's a brilliant idea!)
    I was wondering if you have, or if you know of, a good video or article about breaking in and caring for a premium leather Bible? If I get something of this quality, I really want to be certain I can care for it properly so that it will last, Lord willing and should He tarry, for generations.

    • @RustyBibles

      I have a video on my channel about storing Bibles long term. As far as the break in, look up a "Librarian Break In" there's a few videos that explain it. It's a simple process of flipping through the Bible in a way that loosens the sewing and gets it ready for use.

    • @jmcgregor316
      @jmcgregor316 6 месяцев назад

      My Humble Lamb KJV Lion did not require any break in. It was soft, flexible and easy to read any page from front to back and it lays flat right out of the box.

    I’ve had this Bible for a month. It was an early Christmas present. Here are a few of the issues. Gold page edges rubbing off already. And the blue on the spine is starting to rub off or flake. This bible cost over 200.00 and has more issues than a 25-50 bible being carried around and read every day. Definitely makes it not worth that price. I sent pictures to them, they said they would send a label to return and would send a new one when received. I read my Bible twice a day, and to not have it for two weeks or more is beyond frustrating. Add to that that they didn’t send the label. So I’ve reached out asking for it. Still have not heard back. Now I don’t even want a replacement because the experience of this bible is so bad. And I unfortunately believe that the replacement would most likely have the same issues after a month or two. Do yourselves a favor if you still plan to get this. Get the color tented page edges (probably less likely to rub off after a month.)

    I personally don’t like the HIStory as it isn’t a story. I think calling a Bible a story takes away from the importance of the Word. They’re nice looking Bibles; the font is too small, though, for us older people. They really changed their goatskin from the very first NKJV Bible; it’s a thin, floppy black goatskin, and I love it. I think the price isn’t too bad, especially considering how high Church Bible Publisher Bibles have gotten. But if I’m going to pay over $200 for a Bible, I’ll get a Schuyler.

      Yeah, it is especially on the last two since they're directly across from each other and typically layout is done in spreads (looking at both pages at the same time). I've made similar mistakes laying out magazines with a 2.5 million circulation, and know how easy it is to do under a tight timeline. Does it sting? Certainly, but they'll fix it on the next run along with anything else they catch. It's still a beautiful edition.

    • @RustyBibles
      @RustyBibles  10 месяцев назад +1

      It was $165 at preorder, which takes the sting out of it. Usually when they sell out, they'll do a run of seconds at half price, then the preorder for the next run will be discounted until it comes into stock.
      Premiums are definitely getting pricier though. Allan did an new ESV edition recently, and it was going for $400. That's too rich for my blood. I think the majority of the cost of this one is the amount of work that went into the design; they really worked it over. But I can for sure understand the cost/benefit analysis when you consider the fact that you can get a Schuyler for the same price.

      To be fair, it was much less expensive during pre-order, and if you consider all of the different, unique features of this one, and the time, planning and design that went into it, I would say it's worth the price. Of course to each his own. Schuyler's are now over $250 and the most recent Allan ESV SCR was around $400.

    Some things about this bible just don’t do it for me. The drop caps are too large for the page layout, and overall the abundance of odd page layout details makes this Bible too much of a fussy design, in my opinion. I would not buy one. I had a red HL a while back and the Meritian leather was like sandpaper. I sold it. Not a fan of HL needless to say.

  • @GaiatheSage

    I will never get over how expensive and poor quality modern abrahamic bibles are, when I paid $30 for a non abrahamic "bible" made in america that rivals the quality of humble lamb premiums. that "bible" is actually one of the things that got me into christianity and the old/new testament. seriously either the christian publishing industry is greedy or they are just fiscally irresponsible, although with even humble lamb being made in china I highly suspect corruption and greed.

      @@RustyBibles unfortunately there isn't I have been looking the past few months. I honestly only found one good video on the subject but it's more about the failure of the author's intentional community still quite fascinating but not directly related to the "bible" he "wrote". anyway i'm done waiting for someone like me to talk about it all. almost all the videos here on youtube about this "bible" are from followers of the niche religion leading funtimentalist preachings instead of any philosophical, secular or generalized introduction into the subject matter. I will drop a few links if you're interested and I will definitely be making a video (or a few) on the subject in the near future. I am curious though on how the eloist's prepared their eloist edition for release as it does seem they are selling them under cost as the modern english (standard edition) version is made like crap and is 2 volumes for twice the price.
