What a sad and lonely place to die. Thank you for the video, I hope these men are at peace, wherever we go after life on this earth.

Hello! Thank you for sharing this little known accident. :'(
To say, I do recognize the thumbnail photo from the famous Shackleton expedition. To quote Wikipedia, "Frank Hurley (1885-1962) was the Endurance Expedition's official photographer. He saved many fragile photographic negatives from the water, which documented the expedition, under the most extreme circumstances." It makes their story all the more incredible that he salvaged any plates when you think about each portion of their journey, incl the voyage in the rehabbed life boats. I remember seeing the film (what 20, 25 years ago?) and my companion absolutely scoffed when after the film I told him some of the film and photos were saved from the ship. My feelings were so hurt by their acid disbelief! I hope by now they may have had occasion to realize how wrong they were.
And I am sure many here will know but some may not know, the Endurance was found not long ago resting at a depth of 10,000 feet, looking preserved and eerie. I was a bit shocked to think that was how deep under them the water was! I guess I thought it was shallow seas, a part of a continental shelf. ... And then you think, What are people doing down so far down there now?? So scary! [Tho maybe it was an unpersoned vehicle.)
    Anyway... cheers!

All three of them were just kids. They shouldn’t have been sent out there. There’s no way they could’ve had enough life skills to handle that mental and physical challenge. They were just boys 😢

Exactly what I thought when he said they were complaining of boredom while stranded in the shack
