By Far my favorite r/c plane I have seen thus far. Absolutely superb engine noise and not coming from a boom box either! Excellent airmanship displayed in this video as well. Thank you sir!
Beautiful plane. Superb piloting. Dramatic lighting and clouds. Would have been better if someone had pulled the plug on the annoying background announcer.
By the time you have spent more than $5K or $6K on that Moki, and what could easily be some 15K (maybe 10K or less? probably not!) in total or more for that incredible P-47, THE WORST thing I have seen people then do is put a 2 bladed prop on it, or any otherwise totally scale bird. It's definitely the scale 4 bladed prop that really makes yours outstandingly awesome. You are getting the super sonic prop noise as well! I used to have the opportunities to fly a friend's 1/4 scale P-40 with a Zenoah G-38, not even close to the sound of the Moki, of course (which seems to be money well spent if you have the means!), but when you are 1/4 scale or larger, then you can really see your aircraft from a longer distance, and it flies SO much like 1/1 scale, a hell of a lot less squirrelly than smaller scale. It's actually quite reliable if you are a good pilot (which is why my friend would let me fly it. SO easy to land compared to smaller planes, especially with wind). I want a 1/4 scale FW 190 with a Moki 250, and that ugly ass thick 3 bladed prop, but it would look awesome for being scale.
You can see his assistant looking right down the runway. He must see the other people carrying off the other aircraft. They both didn't clear the runway before he started his takeoff roll. I hope they learned from this mistake and safety person spoke with them after he landed.
Thanks Dom, imposing model beautifully filmed as ever. Clearly a lot of effort has gone into building such an accurate scale model. The flying would have been as impressive but for two avoidable things which detracted from the scale effect, the incessant throttle blipping when taxing and the second was the unnecessary full throttle runs. Maybe the latter generate maximum sound, which is exciting to the general public but the overly high speed detracts from creating a scale image. You’re up against Reynolds numbers to start with, without bending the throttle. Slower equals realistic.
You could be right. I think the pilots fly for the crowd rather than pure scale. You can understand why. There are competitions for pure scale flying. I think there would be a big difference in flying style. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
I use manual shutter 1/2000. I have found it is the best compromise between getting enough light and reducing motion blur with a reasonably fast shutter speed. Hope that helps. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
Still speed Flying with low wing plane and big diameter fusalage is not beautifull. Neither he s flying tight and smoothly despite the power in the engine. It gets bored

I love the P-47 Razor back. I used to fly Rc planes, and i had the P-47 electric. I love the sound of that rotary!
What an authentic sound. Great overall.
He yanked that plane into the fucking air! Wow! So much for a realistic take-off!

Great to hear you enjoyed it! Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
Love that slow-mo sound! REAL!
Wow, look at the precision and smoothness in turning! 😊
Best looking RC P-47, congrats 👍
Thanks 👍
Gotta love that radial sound..for a mere $5,000 you can have one too...out of my league indeed
Wonderful demonstration. Love the raw power of the Jug!
Beautiful plane. Superb piloting. Dramatic lighting and clouds. Would have been better if someone had pulled the plug on the annoying background announcer.
Wow beautiful video! And the plane is just wicked......
What a beautiful plane !
Complimenti. Eccezionale
Love the "WW" war weary search and rescue paint scheme. Very original!
I love this plane
2:00 brings tears to my eyes and I’m serious
Superb....

did u notice the right inner gear door didnt close. great flight great plane
Yup. Sometimes things go wrong but the pilot carries on and puts on a good show for the public. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
I always love the Slo-mo as it looks and sounds full scale. I'm curious as to the cost of such an RC scale model that size.
What the heck was going on at 06:39 on the runway? Two people with an aircraft? That appears to explain the steep departure climb.
Rick Tressler also at the start ... u dont want to do this
yeah boiii agreed, particularly with large aircraft.
You can see his assistant looking right down the runway. He must see the other people carrying off the other aircraft. They both didn't clear the runway before he started his takeoff roll. I hope they learned from this mistake and safety person spoke with them after he landed.
He angled to the left on takeoff and was outside the markers for the left edge of the runway when he lifted off..
Beautiful finish. I am mounting the same engine, what capacity did you put the battery to start the engine?
Too awesome
Spectacular!!!!!
wow, thumbs up, slow motion
Yup. 4K at 60 frames per second and slowing down by factor of 4 makes for the best slow motion you'll see on any RC channel. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
2 years too late, but cares great plane love warbirds
That is so wicked..

Звук двигателя просто песня)))
Sweet sweet music
Interesting takeoff with two humans clearly in the flight path.
He angled to the left on takeoff and was outside the markers for the left edge of the runway when he lifted off..
Lack of security at take off!
Great video as usual, and does your camera use a 'global shutter' as there is not the bendy prop syndrome?
I use manual shutter 1/2000. I have found it is the best compromise between getting enough light and reducing motion blur with a reasonably fast shutter speed. Hope that helps. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
Thanks, I might try that
