  • Neville Bailey, a 56-year-old taxi driver, was picking up fairs on the city’s west side on the evening of April 6, 2005. Bailey was found shot in his taxi that had crashed into a boulder at the side of the road on Newbury Street. He would later die at Strong Memorial Hospital. The last report investigators filed on the Bailey case was dated Sept. 26, 2005, about six months after the slaying. No leads have surfaced since.
Neville's wife, Jeanette Bailey, is still looking for answers 20 years later. She and her two daughters are still traumatized by Bailey’s death. Tom Cassidy, a Rochester Police Department detective who has worked Bailey’s homicide for 18 years believes the killing was seemingly that of the rarest kind: a random act of violence.
