Last time I commented, your eyes were on point! That shirt is awesome. I really enjoy your stye. I love my Legend: Arthurian Deck (it was my first tarot deck and LOVE the artwork) and my Centennial borderless deck. However, the Thoth is my SOUL deck. Any deck I use, any time I do a reading my mind wanders to how it would be with the Thoth deck. I know that deck backwards and forwards. I could fan out the deck and just a sliver of color on the side peeking out behind another card, and I can tell you what card it is. Years ago my first copy was in my backpack and I had set it on the ground at work. The floor ended up flooding ruining my deck. I cried and grieved as if I lost a family member.
So thoughtful. You always manage to get my gears turning and that's the point, isn't it? For me, working with Crow's Magick Tarot's odd imagery and seemingly incongruous keywords has been about developing and defining personal connections and personal meanings of the cards. I, too, just "get it." It makes sense to me, but at the same time, the work is like an epiphany. It is cathartic. The deck validates some weird part of my psyche and soul. For example, that Page of Cups with the open mouthed lizard/dinosaur creature jumping towards me...and the words Unearthly, Mystical...when I pulled it, I knew in my gut what it meant to me, but I loved exploring how it veered from anything traditional I'd learned. ❤👉
For me the point of the eight of wands is having all the focused energy you need for whatever life throws at me. I see the Ritual Tarot as being a very significant deck for you with how you approach tarot. Maybe a piece of your soul? I don't have a soul deck. I have decks I love and reach for often but I can't think of a deck that reaches my inner self so strongly to the exclusion of my other decks. I don't consider my favorite decks as soul decks. This was so interesting and i enjoyed your thoughts very much. Differing prespectives of tarot always give me so much to think about, and I love that. Disclaimer-just because I don't have a soul deck does not mean I don't believe in soul decks. If a person says a deck is their soul deck I believe them! Yes to tarot in bed! I'm glad I'm not alone in this. lol
I always love your rambles. You did manage to get to the Point. Your style in decks is the polar opposite of mine. I appreciate seeing them and your thoughts on why you love/like them.
Tarot in bed is my absolute favourite! I’ll read before bed some nights and Sunday morning I’ll laze in bed and do a spread before I start me day. My readings are much more on point than when I read at my desk, too! 🖤
Hello, Anna! Not at all a ramble -- a thoughtful, thought-provoking talk full of your experience, knowledge, and insights. I loved it! Your interesting discussion about the 8 of Wands made me realize that the whole point of having a variety of decks in my tarot practice is for exactly the purpose you described so clearly: The different perspectives of the same card both enrich and deepen the card's meaning and my understanding of it. Thank you for the inspiration!!
Thank you for the many inspirational videos you create. I found you when I was researching about the Tarot of the Moon Garden. I am new with Tarot, and am starting w/the Rider Wait Tarot to learn. It has been a great experience so far. Your deck taste seems to match mine, so I subscribed to you. Wishing you the best Anna.
such a great point. multi-pointed. i need the direction and focus. am i pointless? nooo. i hope not . "you and i we been through that and this is not our fate" b.dylan. anyway, as always, totally dig your insights and wisdom and the new perspectives and points of view you offer in abundance. cheers.
Loved this video gave me plenty to think about, really love the 8 of wands interpretation of the Crows Magick, I saw it maybe not just as a cage but a retreat, a safe place (like repeated patterns of behaviour) as its shaped around the crocodile before moving forward, definitely not how I normally read that card, I think you just broke my brain a bit 😅 but a really good point.
I really enjoyed this ! I don't have the Crow deck but I loved listening to your insightful thoughts...I get two regular thumbs down on every video I post ...and I'm a little channel but hearing you mention it makes me feel less isolated in that area 💚🙏
As much as it sucks to get those thumbs downs, it makes me wonder if they realize they are helping you with the You Tube algorithm. I think your channels are both great!
It’s interesting that in numerology, the 8 tends to be a kind of ‘super-structure’, because it’s the doubling of the 4. In that case, the 8 of Wands in the Crow’s Magick does make a lot of sense! I can’t help but think of the 8’s more mercurial nature though, thanks to Hod; infinity signs also come to mind. Maybe that’s the true source of energy of the 8 of Wands - perpetual motion. Perhaps that was the point of both PCS and Lady Frieda Harris’ illustrations! Speaking of mercurial…from what I’ve seen of the Crow’s Magick, it definitely feels it. Which makes it perfect for the thoughtful air sign of Libra! Love your top, have a great weekend 🖤🦅
Not being a bird lover I recently found out my spirit animal is a peacock 🦚 which I've thought long and hard about; and unsurprisingly I see this as a need to tame my ego; so as tarot, in general, totally embraces this point alone, I feel the need to read with brutally honest decks. Thoth is and has been my number one, forever, TdM a close second. I have just one animal, nature themed deck but, although lovely, isn't direct enough for me. I dip in and out of deviant moon decks and tdl from time to time. I think you totally resonate with your Crows deck though, could see you offering readings with this at the Tower of London ☺️☺️☺️
Very interesting points in this video 😅 especially about the 8 of wands, I also find the established meaning of ‘swiftness’ a bit vague. Your definition makes much more sense and is really something that can be expanded on in a reading. Thanks 🙏🏼 oh, I also read tarot a lot in bed 😂
Crow's deck, first U ever owned. Wished U still had it. I like my Robin Wood deck though. I wanna get Edgar Allan deck just to have. Will always use Robin Wood though
I love that color blue that you painted your bookshelf, it's similar to the blue edging you used to have or your trionfi, I think you re edged it in black right? You made so many points, I don't know which one to comment on. I remember in a previous video I think you said you don't put much stock in astrology, or you don't like it much, like you don't want to be pigeonholed into your birth chart. I get that it can be quite intrusive when someone says "oh you have x planet in y house, you must have daddy issues" or something along those lines. So I don't mean to annoy you, but the first time I saw you face was in the picture on your video, VR two paths tarot # for the love of cards, and I thought that lady is a libra sun. Only librans have a smile like that. I just brought that up because the crow reminds me of the element air, that's where a part of you might shine quite brightly. Of course there is a lot more to it, why the deck is special to you. Best wishes Anna.
That was actually a beautiful way of addressing the point of astrology :) Thanks, Melanie! The Trionfi is edged in black but it has red and purple hues. I’m sure it will find its way back to blue in the future. Says the lady dressed in BLUE today
I will try to pull cards in my bad (besides the Ritual Tarot has become my hug deck already- I love it🥰), point is I am usually so tired I've never thought of it before! Have a nice weekend 🌞!!!
Ah, a sign to get to bed a bit earlier! ;P I can tell you, it's relaxing to read cards in the evening, preferably in bed, and it's nice to be able to contemplate things and make sense of the day you've just had
oooo! I love the idea that a person might not realise which deck is their soul deck (or realise that they may have one in the first place) ... I have to agree and say I think Crows Magick is your soul deck (gnostic, intuitive, soul-deep) whereas perhaps the Trionfi is your monster community, your astral circle of moonlit companions. Just a hunch but I figured I'd *point* it out 😉
8 of wands, I really think of the dynamic energy of the suit.... then the geomancy shapes 8's can create. What does 8 of wands in balance feel like? Inhibited or blocked? What about exaggerated? How do they all feel? I'm a water moon, I need to know how the cards feel in my life. Really helps me when reading for other people. It is less about what my swordsy brain likes to hang 'meaning' on. Then if the 8 of wands is illustrated, does that match the feeling or is it in tension? Also the flying wands piss me off, like how lazy was that Pam? All the clones afterwards just went with it without questioning it ffs. Heyho. Crowley was repugnant to me, so I can't get past that point with the whole appropriated esoteric systems then bend them to fit whilst being a @*nt to everyone who actually came from those esoteric systems and cultures. Nope. No. Can't do it. I have opinions you see 🤣
@@AstralLadyTarot wow, what a compliment, even if by name only. My favourite character in the book, she had spine, compassion and artistry. Along with their mother. 😁
No thumbs down, you make many good “points”. I had fun watching this while following along with my Hermetic Tarot to compare with the cards you used as examples. Do you use or have the Hermetic Tarot. If so, do you think it’s similar to Thoth or the same system?
@@christineford367 I’d like to look at that deck more! Mostly because of the arrangement and names of the court cards. Recently just missed an opportunity to get a vintage copy. I don’t think I’d really read with it though. It would be a study tool. Thoth, RWS and Hermetic Tarot are all based off of Mather’s workings.
What’s the point of having a beautiful Gibson guitar leaning against the wall without playing a song by Jimi for us. You don’t talk too much Anna, I’m not sure what your soul deck is, but when you find it you’ll know and all your other decks will become pointless. Seven days and counting until 🎂 next Saturday, enjoy your weekend Anna✌🏻
