What is 'Pitri Dosha'?

'Pitri Dosha' can be one of the most difficult placements in the chart that can be an indicator of many struggles and difficulties that the native must overcome in order to realize their soul's purpose in this lifetime.
There are many different combinations that can create this 'dosha' such as Saturn conjunct Sun, Rahu conjunct Sun, 'Ketu' in the 5th or 9th house etc.. There are varying beliefs and ideas about which combinations exactly create 'pitri dosha' in the chart.
However, as a rule of thumb one can say that whenever one has Saturn or the nodes conjunct the Sun and/or occupying the 5th/9th houses, 'Pitri dosha' is formed.
These placements point towards blockages in 'bhaagya' i.e 'fortune' and 'purva punya' i.e. 'good deeds from past lives'
This basically means that the native often finds him or herself unsupported and unlucky in their endeavours.
If you go to the average astrologer or priest, they will probably suggest tons of remedies and 'shanti pujans' in order to 'pacify' this placement in your chart.
However, spiritual growth occurs when you introduce spiritual awarness about this placement into your life and practice that awarness about.what really is the CAUSE and PURPOSE of being born with these kind of challenges in this lifetime.

It aims to bring awarness about what 'karmic contracts' and 'pitri rina' (generational debt/ ancestral trauma) one is born into if they have this placement and how to be conscious of them and overcome them.

Oh my goodness once again, you went right to the heart of the matter. I have Saturn, sun and Rahu in the 9th house. My mother is a mess. Our roles were switched so that it became my duty in the family to care for her by the time I was 7 or 8 years old. My father was hard on me and not around very often. The family has very dysfunctional patterns and yes, I am the pattern buster. I have been working very hard to make sure that these patterns do not continue on. And yes, I am the black sheep as well.

I’m crying I feel so seen 😭 Moon-Rahu 9H and Sun-Saturn-Mercury 5H. Both 5&9 lords in 8H. It’s heavy, everything you said is exactly how I feel. Finally feeling hopeful for once that all my efforts won’t be a complete waste 😭

I have pitri dosh(rahu in 9) and moon ketu conjunct in the 3rd house. My jupiter is retrograde in the 8th house. I am 30 and my spirit already seems to be tired from all the intense experiences and hardships. I am single, do not have a stable career and am pretty lost ..

If a married woman has pitri dosh with rahu 5th house, it's from her side of ancestors or her husband's side? For whom shall she do remedies? Pls guide.
Your chart therefore your ancestors and mostly it is from the father's side esp. since here it is Rahu forming this 'dosha'.
@@coachkaushal thank u coach. I always had this dilemma. Infact me n my husband both have rahu in 5th house🤣 so too much pitridosh. And every word u spoke matches wd us individually inspite of us being opposite in nature. I keep searching for knowledge like a maniac in all the fields other than my earned degree n hardly stick to a course.. (Ur rahu 5th house video) haven't got to know my profession or passion yet.. Pardon my directness Sandraji but in my opinion that question is an oversimplification since the standardized 'sidereal' system emerged in India only after independece. Before that many different systems or 'ayanamshas' co existed quite peacefully. I shall make a video on this soon. However to answer your question.. I work with a variety of ayanamshas and I find that each system has its own unique perspectives. Hari Om!
