He passed away just 2 minutes after we had spoken and it was a very painful one because he had not even said goodbye. I was shocked WHY I cried. With Pen In Hand is such a heartfelt song. I couldn't think of anyone who could sing as nice. Bobby Goldsboro put so many emotions into this song. Sad but beautiful. Simply beautiful.

When I left the theater, I began a search of every record shop I could think of, but no luck! So, I called Bobby at his home and asked if he knew where I could find it. He said, I couldn’t because it was never recorded. He said, as they were shooting that final scene, they decided it needed a song to close it out. So he sat down scribbled one out and sang it himself. It never was recorded! But, that last scene has been preserved on RUclips, listen to it. It’s just listed as the final scene of Gator. It changed my life, it may yours as well. Life is filled with little while moments locked in your memory forever.
