Awesome work! Any idea how I can remove the little triangle beside the side mirror / above the window trim? It appears I need to remove it to snap the trim mounding back on after having painted it.
Don’t recall if I ever took that off before. But it may have a screw on the backside. Best to look up the diagram for the door parts online to see what components are there.
yea, I've been working on another project with sanding so dust everywhere. I plan to do a paint correction and ceramic coat. The quarantine is perfect time, since I can work on a panel or two a night without wife complaining that I am in garage all day.
I probably cleaned it when I did my spark plugs but that was 3 years ago before I started recording what I did. I hope to never have to take the intake manifold apart again!!! But if the carbon issues ever get bad, I might have to walnut blast it.
@@TunerwithKids I hear ya! I changed my spark plugs over the weekend and didn't take out the manifold (thank goodness for my small hands). That's when I saw my throttle body. I personally didnt see much carbon buildup. While I have a 2011 is350, Im aware the is250s have a carbon buildup issue so wanted to do some preventive maintenance. My hesitation comes from the fact its electrical. I dont want to disturb the calibration. I also dont want to pull the whole part out. I think.Im just going to spray a rag with the TB cleaner and just clean the front exposed part (side connected to exhaust) and might have someone step on the gas (while car is not fully on, but on the first push start). This will open the butterfly flang and I can clean what I can. Just wanted to see someone like you do it because I trust your methods. You love you car like your 3rd child! But thanks for all the content, love the videos!
Could I order these for my stock Lexus is250 2007. I bought mine used and it looks like the the black weather strips are just gone completely from the top and I need to add them
My rear clip popped off, I purchased the replacement kid and the guy at the dealer said it just sticks on… clearly he had no idea and it doesn’t do that. What do you recommend for the epoxy to attach it to the metal that won’t melt the trim piece if I apply too much or it cures funny. I’m in a cold environment right now?
Actually, in my Lexus is250 there are 2 holes that I can clearly see in the corner in the front part of the sunroof gutter. So I want to know if there are any in the back corner of the gutter.
Thanks homey
They look brand new again 👍
Great tutorial !
Didn't even think about that till now thanks for the vid!
glad it was useful
Great video, I have an IS 250 myself
Thank you for this video it help me a lot on my gs 350.
Looks great man, mine are super faded. 06 not garage kept and started it's life in AZ, I really need to redo mine.
✊🏾💯 thanks bro I wish I had a garage I got to wait for the summer giving the fact I live in Brooklyn NY 😕
Looks great, this pandemic has you doing all the right projects. I need to do mine also.
Kevin Persad still taking me longer than I like with 3 screaming children and wife. It’s my midnight projects.
@@TunerwithKids yeah man I can't get anything done and I want to paint these too.

I’m assuming my clips broke off. What kind of epoxy do you need?
Useful Video, looks like your car needs a good polish :) would love to see such a Video.

Tuner with Kids perfect looking forward to that 🤗
Right on time! Just washed my car and noticed my sunroof needed attention.
Have you cleaned your throttle body? I'd love to follow your guide.
Hope you like it and find it useful...if you have black, I'd recommend the single stage 2K from Spray Max for $17. I have a link in the description.

how do i deal with clips? how do i epoxy them on?
So no need for a light first coat of clear as a tack coat? Just go heavy from the start?
I did do the first coat lightly and let dry for 30 minutes, then laid thicker on the second coat.
Could I order these for my stock Lexus is250 2007. I bought mine used and it looks like the the black weather strips are just gone completely from the top and I need to add them
Yea dealer should be able to get them. I have a link to eBay but probably sold out by now.
I have a 2006 Lexus is250, and I would like to know if it has only 2 drain holes in the gutter, or 4. If anyone knows, could you reply? Thanks a lot!
Ashley Jade there’s no holes. It’s a gutter.

Need a 3M panel bond epoxy.
Tuner, how are the new clips installed? Are they manufactured with double-sided tape or do they require an epoxy adhesive?
The car has attachments points that must be epoxied on if your original are broken.
@@TunerwithKids
Do you have a recommendation for a specific epoxy?
Thank you.
how is the paint holding up?
I tried painting my es300 roof moulding, and it didn't last very long before deteriorating.
Mine is good. It’s painted with automotive paint and 2K urethane clear.
How much would you charge to paint a fender and fix a bumper on the IS350..
I wouldn’t tackle that as DIY. Better to pay $1000 to let pros do it.
Is there 2 different parts for the clips ? Or are they both the same with the same part number
Think it’s the same.
@@TunerwithKidsdo you have to paint the weather strip mold once you get it ? Or is it already black
You can order the strip in your car color.
Is it attach by double sided tape?
No. Clips on the ends. Compression in the channel.

Yea the sunroof has back drain holes too. I thought you were asking about roof gutter.
The back holes are hard to see, even with a flashlight.
Yea they are back there somewhere. Lots of people get them clogged or the hose falls off and floods carpet.
@@TunerwithKids Do you have an is250?
Yes. It’s a 250.
Anybody knows what happens to the car? My left side one flew off and haven’t been able to get it replaced
It’s more cosmetic to hide the seam and channel water do the drains.
@@TunerwithKids where would the drains be at? I’m still missing the whole thing so I want to make sure I’m not messing up my car 😅
The windows would act as a channel down thru the wiper crowl and rear trunk seams.
@@TunerwithKids ah I see thank you for replying (:
Mine too!! Haven’t been able to find one :(
Sir, where is the IS in this video?
I’m FL.
Your 1st gen IS...?
Probably hadn’t bought it yet. I got the is300 in August of 2020.
