Nobody writes a song like alan. Such truth, honesty, love and pain went into this song. God Bless the USA

I watched this live as a kid, and when you’re 11 years old, not many things give you chills. This did. Truly one of the greatest songs ever written.

Another great reaction followed by intelligent discussion. That's why for me, your reaction channel is the best. That song brings tears to my eyes every, single, time.

I know most people like to do a live performance, but you need to watch the official video. It is very powerful and the graphics just really drive home the message.

I'll never truly understand the talent that songwriters have. How Alan was able to put such perfect lyrics/lines together....as well as the music/orchestra in less than a week's time.....
As much as I enjoyed watching Alan perform this live, there's another video to this song that has 'still' shots of some of the actual footage of 911 that makes this song even more powerful. Prayers that we never have to live through something like this again. 🙏

That is a great song that should have never been written. We, as a country came together after 9/11. What has happened to us? Never forget and never stop praying for our country!!😞

I was 3 years old, going on 4 when 9/11 happened. I don't remember it, but my mom said we were both at home, in the house I grew up in, when my dad called my mom to tell her what happened and she turned on the TV. My freshmen year of high school, my English teacher, Brian Walter told us about his experience with 9/11 as a young boy. He grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey and apparently had friends that were in the Twin Towers that day. Last year, I got to the opportunity to go on a week-long mission trip in NYC for our church in Magnolia, Arkansas. One of my first questions was whether we were going to see the memorial, which we did. I saw Americans of all nationalities and I didn't see a difference in any of them, as far as human beings and our emotions because this was something that affected us all and brought us together. I had realized that even though the entire United States was affected, there were people in New England and especially those close by who were affected a little bit more deeply and relive it everyday and probably walk by there. Thinking about all of our brothers and sisters in NYC who lived through this catastrophe. Kudos to one of my favorite singers, Alan Jackson for writing such a truthful, heart-stirring song and kudos to Don for reacting to it.

    Thank you Don.
I was only 11 whey this happened. We had band class first thing in the morning and when I hit there the band directors wife and some of the girls in my class were crying and has a tv on showing the first tower. As we were going to second period class we had heard screams from some teachers. I remember running into the nearest class room to see the remainder of the fireball from the second plane

And as soon as I start commenting on Facebook and posting a message, I already see here on RUclips several very sad photos about Alan Jakison and in chouuuuuu's videos everything is different, he is always fine

Is it because there are such sad videos about Alan Jakison and at the same time he is doing very well because I see photos. Here. Sometimes I think how can someone do things like that?

At the time I lived 30 miles from DC... pretty much the NYC to DC/Pentagon was a target... I had a phone call from my husband.. he said r u watching the news... I said no... I was watching The Wiggles with our 18 month old.. he said turn on the news.. The second tower was being hit when I turned on the news... Life Changed. My husband (now deceased).. was on the opposite side of NSA from our home... he said to me.. go get our children out of school.. now.. I did... I got one out of HS.. 2 out of Middle School. and one out of elementary school... baby was home... truly the hardest day of my life.. my husband couldn't get home.. they shut down all the highways around NSA.. My husband couldn't get home for 15 hrs...

Thank you for honoring the day. I was having coffee in front of the Marriott, waiting for some friends. Too close to ever forget the things I saw. The rest of the day was spent in the West Village, where bars were jammed as we waited for news and worried about friends and family. I pray that all found peace

Hard to believe it's been 22 years since that tragedy we had a special at church to pray for those lost and this song played but not this video it was the one that showed the attack and aftermath. Always remember 9/11 🇺🇲

On 9/11 I was working night shifts. I had gotten home around 0800 and was sound asleep. My best friend, Steve, called and my wife answered and said "sorry Steve, he just got home and is asleep." Steve replied "wake him up and turn on the TV. Right now" (Steve is a great, easy going and non confrontational guy, this was totally out of character for him) My wife woke me up and we turned on the TV just in time to see the second plane hit. We were absolutely stunned. Not long after that my pager went off. I was called back in to work. No paramedic got a day off that day.
(I was living near Cape Canaveral FL, there was a big fear that the shuttle could be targeted, it was fueled and on the pad for an upcoming launch. A plane hitting the shuttle in that condition would have been.... bad.)

Don the lyrics of this beautiful memorial that Alan penned for those of us affected by this are in a way comforting….
I went through all of the emotions he describes in a short time spam.
When he finally released this is when I realized and that what I felt was normal and I was not dysfunctional and losing my mind.
That is when I began to heal and accept that my son had to go to Afghanistan to protect you, me, the folks watching here and many many others.
Faith, hope and love are wonderful attributes but straight out rage is okay at times as well.
Part of my sons soul stayed in Afghanistan and even today he is fighting that fight every day.
    God Bless everyone here!

I will never forget where I was and why when this happened. I was away from home on business and heard it on the radio. All I wanted to do was get home and hold my children. It's difficult for me, 22 years later, to remember and not weep over all who were closely affected by this. That was the last time I saw the potential of what this country could be. So deeply sad it took such a tragedy to bring out the love and kindness we should all show each other. Thank you Jacob and Don for the request and reaction to a song, like @scottandal said, should never have been written.

Love the song. Alan nailed it perfectly. And Don another good reaction I hate my birthday now because 9/11 brings back the awful images of those planes flying into the twin towers and all the innocent people who lost their lives that. It makes me mad as hell and celebrating today is something I don't want to do
