I think the Waterman L&NWR colours on both locos and stock at this time, was one of the smartest used.....Great to see footage from back then Mike....Regards...Bob
Another nice video Mike! I never recorded any of the Rhymney runs, I guess I was too busy with riding them and other things. I am making up for it now though as they've returned and I now have plenty of photos and video.
The South Wales Valleys are one of the busiest commuter areas in the UK, all radiating from Cardiff " like the fingers on a hand " Look on Google Earth for an overview.....Mike
Do Arriva keep trains parked up over night at the Sidings in Rhymney or do they head back to Cardiff? The last train to Ebbw Vale Town always heads back after completing the run.
there are sidings at Rhymney where the trains stay overnight .. The Rhymney 37s also used to park up there. Rhymney to Cardiff run services every half hour then until the sidings are empty.
Good stuff, amazing quality for its age and thanks for keeping it!
Priceless Mike. Great footage. Memories of the time when I used to chase the 37's to Rhymney at the end of services. All the best.
Looks so different nowadays! great video

She looked so much better in Scotrail!
Is the track at Rhymney the same now? I know Network Rail like to get rid of any useful sidings!

Not too sure, I'll check with my local contact; I feel the early service will start at Rhymney

Both RHY and TRB have stabling facilities. They are both train crew depots.
