The Chinese economy is not only getting bigger but the US economy is is getting smaller. All because the US decided that it would just keep all other countries down. You can't achieve your highest potential while simultaneously using your energy to keep others from doing so.
There is just not enough energy to do both. successfully.

China, not only have 4 times the population but much bigger population ability to compete in all the STEM sectors, some reports said more than 4 times larger in this sector. The West should look at longer term and permit equal opportunities for all to progress in the 21st Century. As things are now, no one seems able to out compete them; though the West thought India could help them to offer some competition to China. If you look at the economic scenario in the 80s, there was only a couple of months when India was recorded to have the same output as China but today China have 5 times India's GDP!
Take the other example; railway system. At the end of WW2, UK left India with the only intact railway system in the world, together with US, whilst most industrialized nations had their system caput! China had only the wrecks of the railway lines! Today, in spite of all the proclamation, India had to get the HSR from Japan! And across the nation, their trains and stations are really third world standard! What are the drawbacks in this democratic nation??

In 1960, the U.S. accounted for 40% of the world's GDP, in nominal term. China's share was just 4%.
In 2019, the U.S. accounted for just 24% of the world's GDP in nominal term. China's share went up to 16.3%.
Using purchasing power parity GDP, China's share is already larger than the US.

If Americans are experiencing the trauma, will it be more beneficiary to budget that annual 300 millions dollars on psychotherapy (to accelerate the acceptance of China's peaceful rise), or on trips to China (to better connect with reality and feel safe in it), than on slandering Chinese government all over the world? The ongoing conflict/confrontation/"war" between the US (and its coerced Western allies) and China is and has never been anything to do with trade, technology, military or economics. All of these fights has to do with one and only one thing: culture. And, of course, culture is closely tied or even equivalent to race/ethnicity.
The core (but subtle and covert) factor is between the Western culture/civilization and the Eastern culture/civilization. To boil down and narrow down the two sides, it is really a ever ongoing competition between the Anglo-Saxons and the Chinese.
If China realizes this core reason and accepts it as a fact, then China should know there is absolutely nothing China can do to truly resolve the conflict. Protests, denouncements or arguments with these Western nations (especially the US) are absolutely futile attempts, and China should acknowledge that and act accordingly.

Does China restrict foreign journalists' coverage of Xinjiang? Why did no reporter go there to verify the photos of the concen-camp?
"If you are interested in further exploring Xinjiang, you are warmly welcome!'' Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi promises this to Dutch journalists. To view the situation objectively. That's better than relying on rumors or unfounded accusations.[1]
In response, the NOS, the state broadcaster of the Netherlands, sent a number of journalists to Urumqi.
The Dutch journalists were openly welcomed at the airport. The intention was to visit schools and talk to the local population. Ultimately, this was a nice invitation to discover Xinjiang well.
However, on arrival at the airport, the journalists were asked not to film. They were also constantly monitored by police officers, civil servants and vehicles.
Wherever the journalists wanted to go, access was denied. Schools were not allowed to be visited and the locals did not want to talk. In the end it was possible to talk to a few Han Chinese, but it was not possible to initiate a conversation with one Uyghur.
But having a normal conversation with local Chinese is proving to be very difficult, especially as Chinese officials leave no room for this.
The Dutch journalists did reach Xinshi, where, according to Western media, there are detention camps for Uyghurs. However, the military police also asked not to film, or the roads to these locations were closed.
So it remains Western media versus Chinese media. The Chinese invited the Dutch journalists to see for themselves how the Uyghurs live in China. This was a great opportunity to show it to the Western media.
Unfortunately, the journalists have only been made difficult and doubts about the Uyghur re-education camps have only grown.

A perfect analysis of the present world situation. Just consider, the land mass, the population size, the industrial and technological progress of China and Russia together, not to mention India and Japan. The east dwarfs by comparison anything the west has to offer and will almost certainly grow faster than the west. A new world order ??

The reason I fear China not about ego or pride. It's the fact that China has a conviction rate over 99% and executes more people than all other countries in the world (combined). It's scary to think a nation like that will become the top superpower in the world. I agree with China's handling of global climate change more than the US, and China believing in the right the healthcare. I disagree with many foreign policy decisions of the USA. None of that scares me nearly as bad as a conviction rate over 99% and executing more people than all other countries in the world (combined).

Before the Han there was still the Denisovans, who invariably inhabited the Yellow River area prior to the arrival of the proto-Han. Yes, at some point in antiquity they would have still arrived there from elsewhere. We don’t know if there were earlier human populations present when the proto-Han arrived. What we do know is that we can find traces of Denisovan DNA in modern Han populations. Whether we consider Denisovans as an earlier “human” population is still up for debate, but it’s some pretty clear evidence of earlier inhabitants in the region.
Responses like this attempting to depict Han as the absolute earliest inhabitants of the area is fanciful, but also a product of what became Chinese culture and Confucian influences. Both of these emphasize a connection to the land that supposed to stretch back to the earliest recorded histories, not unlike anthology of Celtic populations, certain groups in the Middle East, etc. In all of these other cases, archeology has been able to demonstrate and explore what earlier populations looked like, practiced, and were distinct from what became the oldest known populations to a region. It’s the culture here in this case that still prevents that same type of inquiry from occurring.
The very definition of Hua Xia (華夏) is the amalgamation of many different people who shared a similar agricultural lifestyle, and joined together to become what we know is Han. That necessarily means that these different groups had different identities preceding this, including different histories of migration to the area.
Are modern populations descended, at least in part, from the earliest known inhabitants there? Yes, that’s very likely. But it’s also certain that there are additional genetic overlays and cultural layers that have been added over time.

Regarding his last point on an inferior becoming a superior...I was working for supervisor but he got demoted for not respecting management and I was promoted to his position. My former supervisor decided to work for me because our relationship was based on mutual respect for each other. China and USA relationship must be based on mutual respect no matters what happens. Bad things will happen if the relationship start to deteriorate. Unfortunately, USA has started a path to deteriorate the relationship and all China did was being more successful. I love both USA and China so I am sadden by what is happening.

I think that somewhere between 2022 and 2027 China will have the biggest economy in the world. The speaker is right about "planning an economy" where the main decisions on the Chinese economy are taken by the central government. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that is very important component of China's government and economy. I think people in the West have to realize that there is as much as benefit in the "free" economy of a democracy as there is benefit in a "planned" economy of a dictatorship in this case Communist China. The common denominator is directed at efficiency, dynamism and goals of management. Congratulations to China for achieving an admirable and impressive economic growth.
    Greetings from Germany...🍺

America has an election every 2 to 4 years for cabinet and presidency, there is no long-term consistent plan. China has a 10 to 20-year plan, everything is planned for the future, growth, and prosperity for its citizen. A population of 1.4 Billion people needs a socialist party to ensure everyone has food, shelter, health care, education, employment, safety, and happiness.
Every government has its faults, but their system is geared for stability. I envy their success, but I am also happy that they have come a long way from being a 3rd world country to a superpower in less than 20 years.
