I dunno man… seems like devs are milking it. I don’t get it. Games shouldn’t take DOUBLE the time now. The game engines are designed to make things easier. Look at Unreal 5. Some people are making games with a 1-2 person team Never mind these giant developers with 400+. I just don’t get it. Everyone is so butt hurt these days and “crunch” is so negative. So ya, it’s taking forever to get games across the line. Overtime should be optional, and you get paid extra for overtime. So how is that bad! If it’s forced, that’s different
The comments about the time it’s takes to get code added seems to highlight a concern I’ve been having, something isn’t right with current development. Either people are making up complexity that isn’t there or the code base is in a total mess. If a studio was to strip themselves back to basics they could likely start out performing other studios by a wide margin
I hope so but horror games don't get the love the deserve in the industry and often times just get set aside for some other crappy genre that we already have 1000 games in. Horror, especailly sci horror are among my favorite genres up there with souls likes and metroid/vanias. It's a shame an amazing game like alien isolation never got a sequel and I'm afraid it'll be the same with prey. Btw im super stoked for routine, i really hope that game actaully comes out this time and it's not another ten years like when it first got announced

I don't think Kestrel can be Prey 2, it's listed as having an expansion planned, which is terminology they are associating with online games. However, there was an NVIDIA leak in 2021 that revealed another project at Arkane Austin, codenamed blacksky - a thematically appropriate name if you know what becomes of Earth at the end of Prey.
Colt stop making me so excited for all these games coming to Xbox! I cannot wait to play Doom Zero, Prey 2, Oblivion remaster (hope it’s a remake), Outerworlds 2 and Dishonored 3! So many games to play I’m happy to wait. ~60hrs into Starfield and I am still loving it. It just gets better and there’s so much to do in the game! Gotta play Lies of P afterwards and Forza. Too many games 😱🤣

Hey colt ya I think you may be right about the release date for ES6 in 2026. Also that’s sad that State of Decay 3 is looking to be delayed till 2027 maybe more.
I think they're stalling time to make the game look good and work well because, as consumers, we expect the game to work and look good with little to no bugs.
The bottom line is money: if a game take 7 years and fans expected 3 years that means developers are milking the game to get as much income from Microsoft as possible. And these games still come with bugs and patches and the same reason I don't buy games on release, but six months to a year later which would solve the issue of incomplete games on launch. If majority of gamers did the same we would have better games. Like me there's many other game you could be playing while you wait.
Just give me DOOM! Easily my favorite FPS, and probably favorite games of all time lol. I've been playing since the 90's. The origin story is such a great idea. I love what they did with the story in 2016 and Eternal.

The Larian producer doesn't mean much. Producers help in producing the game get the development rolling effeciently. They don't actually game direct it. A lot of people are reading into this the wrong way.

what I want in a games is first choice of character I play "they are your avatar in game" this simple the character gender and what they look like then who and what they are should be develop as you play the game not force feed to you you action in gmae have effect on game then a good story a plot that hold you and you become invested and invested in and yes world the character to cross path with are all part of this
I'm kind of worried about the new Fable game, I've played the originals and some of the articles I've read stated it as a 'Modern Fable for a Modern Audience' and aside from the first trailer the only trailers we've seen have only had a female protagonist, and while that's not a bad thing, it would be a backstep from being able to choose to be either a male or female protagonist, the mechanics I hope they bring, or at least improve upon, are the Augment mechanics from 1 and 2, the scarring from grievous blows, eating certain kinds of food making you either gain or lose weight (I hope they fix it so that it's not that eating meats will only increase your weight), and the aging mechanic (you aged way to fast in the first two and to my knowledge never did in the third).
They might as well just put state of decay out on the next Xbox if it’s coming out in 2027 I’m sure there’s a lot of games that are going to be pushed back to 2026 to 2027 and by then outdated hardware you’re gonna want it to be on the next Xbox

I am kinda skeptical of Obsidian's use of Unreal as an RPG engine. They develop similar games to Bethesda. Imho they are better off using Creation which is great for producing this type of game, and has a huge mod community to hire from for development talent.

I feel like most of these games aren't coming out until the next generation or the very end of this one. So there's no real reason for me to buy a series X or S.
These long waits for releases have created mediocrity and disappointment for gamers. Starfield prime example outdated mrchanics graphics and gameplay. After ten years. I mean, you can’t exactly just compare every studio. Studios range pretty widely in size. Insomniac seems to have over 500 hundred employees. A lot of studios can have between 100 and 200 so development time will vary with how many employees are working on a project. But insomniac is undoubtedly a very efficient and talented studio. Maybe the most efficient out there, but it’s never gonna work out that every other studio in the world will be able to achieve that.
Honestly, it should have taken them 2 years for Spider-Man 2. Lmao 4 years for an additional character and some storylines. CoD developers would be done with Spider-Man 2 by now.

MS need a new game director or whatever Matt Bootyjuice title is. Slow releases, visually underwhelming (I mean Fable main protagonist, eww) except for Forza games. I mean gears 5 came in 2019, a new game should have been released a year ago. Next one to my knowledge hasn't been announced. Perfect Dark was announced years ago, only found a year they actually now have a team to work it. Halo Infinite was underwhelming, Ninja Theory titles shouldn't been out this holiday season. The new Forza title is blurry based on DF's feed using TAA instead of 4X MSAA. I'm looking at it and not seeing 6 years of development when some shots, well lets be real, the majority of the shots Forza 7 looked better. Forza 8 preview build was 1 blurry, 2, low poly crowds at certain angles, 3 low poly and textured trees in the background. The track in Forza 8 is not detailed as Forza 7. Oh, they have Ray Tracing with slightly worst visual. Again, why is it taking so long? Even the preview to avowed didn't look impressive. Starfield for all the hype you push on your channel, visually is underwhelming. A bunch empty planet with a single objective. Stiff animation, face rendering take looking like last gen. I uninstalled that garbage after 7 seven hours. Starfield title 1000 worlds (bland anyway) long development makes sense to have soo much content. I don't know, games are lunching with the visual quality of last gen 1st gen software after half a dozen years. I would get my team on a damn schedule not just have them take their sweet time on project. High new project/game development leads, make sure they're hitting development goals on time. 3 years in, I can honestly say this has been the worst gen for Xbox in terms of content. They have a treasure trove of IP that's not being used. Like where's a new Conker's? Killer Instinct? Gears? Banjo? Go back a bit and look at Brute Force. Get a new Morrowind game in development, a new Fall Out, a new Wolfenstein, a new Prey like reviving the 2013 version. Hell, a sequel to Ryse Son of Rome should have been announced years ago. Nope, the morons at the top only focusing on a handful of titles. Pay Capcom to get a new Dead Rising game rolling, do something other than have underdeveloped, uninspiring, over hyped titles to it's consumer. Avowed did not look good when they showcased it. Hell Blade 2 might be good, but damn is it taking along time. As one the developer alluding to, why does a 10 line code take 4 weeks when he can do it in 1 hour? Or even 2 weeks? I think a lot of people are swindling MS for their money. I don't buy the excuse for games taking 5-6 years.
Just sell your Xbox or cancel your subscription to PC gamepass because Xbox isn't for you obviously. I've just saved you money and stress levels on needless rants when all you can do is play other games on other platforms 🤷

If it's still Avowed coming, Perfect Dark coming in 2026 at the end of next year, maybe I will cancel my subscription. Becoming an old man waiting on Microsoft to get back to their XB360 glory days.

I heard that Square Enix "might" be bringing FFXIV to XBOX at one point, and that would make me very happy. I am also enjoying very much Forza Horizon, so I am not complaining. I wanted only to say that I see a lot of focus on first person shooting, which is not my prefered category.

gears might be close to be announced maybe on the game awards or next year on xbox showcase, some people have seen the game and they say it looks insane

These long waits for releases have created mediocrity and disappointment for gamers. Starfield prime example outdated mrchanics graphics and gameplay. After ten years. Lies of p couldve been on sega Genesis. GTA 6😂😂😂 good luck. Tech is moving too fast for games to take so long and be expensive yet broken unfinished and plain old bs. I mean, you can’t exactly just compare every studio. Studios range pretty widely in size. Insomniac seems to have over 500 hundred employees. A lot of studios can have between 100 and 200 so development time will vary with how many employees are working on a project. But insomniac is undoubtedly a very efficient and talented studio. Maybe the most efficient out there, but it’s never gonna work out that every other studio in the world will be able to achieve that.

MS need a new game director or whatever Matt Bootyjuice title is. Slow releases, visually underwhelming (I mean Fable main protagonist, eww) except for Forza games. I mean gears 5 came in 2019, a new game should have been released a year ago. Next one to my knowledge hasn't been announced. Perfect Dark was announced years ago, only found a year they actually now have a team to work it. Halo Infinite was underwhelming, Ninja Theory titles shouldn't been out this holiday season. The new Forza title is blurry based on DF's feed using TAA instead of 4X MSAA. I'm looking at it and not seeing 6 years of development when some shots, well lets be real, the majority of the shots Forza 7 looked better. Forza 8 preview build was 1 blurry, 2, low poly crowds at certain angles, 3 low poly and textured trees in the background. The track in Forza 8 is not detailed as Forza 7. Oh, they have Ray Tracing with slightly worst visual. Again, why is it taking so long? Even the preview to avowed didn't look impressive. Starfield for all the hype you push on your channel, visually is underwhelming. A bunch empty planet with a single objective. Stiff animation, face rendering take looking like last gen. I uninstalled that garbage after 7 seven hours. Starfield title 1000 worlds (bland anyway) long development makes sense to have soo much content. I don't know, games are lunching with the visual quality of last gen 1st gen software after half a dozen years. I would get my team on a damn schedule not just have them take their sweet time on project. High new project/game development leads, make sure they're hitting development goals on time. 3 years in, I can honestly say this has been the worst gen for Xbox in terms of content. They have a treasure trove of IP that's not being used. Like where's a new Conker's? Killer Instinct? Gears? Banjo? Go back a bit and look at Brute Force. Get a new Morrowind game in development, a new Fall Out, a new Wolfenstein, a new Prey like reviving the 2013 version. Hell, a sequel to Ryse Son of Rome should have been announced years ago. Nope, the morons at the top only focusing on a handful of titles. Pay Capcom to get a new Dead Rising game rolling, do something other than have underdeveloped, uninspiring, over hyped titles to it's consumer. Avowed did not look good when they showcased it. Hell Blade 2 might be good, but damn is it taking along time. As one the developer alluding to, why does a 10 line code take 4 weeks when he can do it in 1 hour? Or even 2 weeks? I think a lot of people are swindling MS for their money. I don't buy the excuse for games taking 5-6 years.
Just sell your Xbox or cancel your subscription to PC gamepass because Xbox isn't for you obviously. I've just saved you money and stress levels on needless rants when all you can do is play other games on other platforms 🤷
@@kevinlist3330 Gamepass paid for in advance or until July of 2025. There's potential, but the first three yeah I've not been impressed with my Xbox. If it's still Avowed coming, Perfect Dark coming in 2026 at the end of next year, maybe I will cancel my subscription. Becoming an old man waiting on Microsoft to get back to their XB360 glory days.

I heard that Square Enix "might" be bringing FFXIV to XBOX at one point, and that would make me very happy. I am also enjoying very much Forza Horizon, so I am not complaining. I wanted only to say that I see a lot of focus on first person shooting, which is not my prefered category.

I finally unsubscribed to xbox live, after the shit show that is starfield I'm done forever. Xbox sucks, I've gone full pc only and couldn't be happier. Screw phil, screw Bethesda and screw all the fanboys
Screw pc, screw all the mods, screw upgrading every 2 years. Screw cross play pc players ruin console games on cross play. It's like a car you'll never get your money back from all that money on a pc. Like yea you can get a moderate pc that truly isn't much powerful than a console, but might as well get a console if you take that route. Screw pc there's always a new model something better. Big waste on something developers can only utilize so much of, so what's the point in it, I don't see it. I'll use my computer too do my projects on lol

Really would of been fine with ps4 until 2024. I only got 3 exclusives for ps5 that's an average about 1 a year. Like what happened too the games. And why is everything so competitive when it use too be you actually got it for fun and not too prove your the best. Gaming isn't what it used too be. I only play there and there cause it's getting too the point where there's nothing good too play.
