I swear Kirby's attacks are delayed. It's not much, but it's rather hard to get used to it if you've played the newer games. Nightmare in Dreamland was better.

It's funny. Most nostalgia hipsters (people who refuse to enjoy remakes) like to claim that Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land's attacks were delayed due to the large amounts of extra frames that were added to Kirby's movements.
The 3ds virtual console version fixes that
For some reason, the developers must've had a slope fetish, because there are hills everwhere in the damn game! It doesn't help either that Kirby slows down when going up slopes.

0:37 this is called a loading seam. In nes games they either had side scrolling or vertical. This bar on the left is caused by a bug with the chip being used that allows diagonal scroll but also creates a visible loading seam. This also happens in Super Mario Bros 3 where it instead appears on the right.

Kirby's Adventure was my first Kirby game.
I played it when I was four, but didn't buy it until I was 17.
I love this game, but the Nightmare in Dream Land remake is my favorite.
Not much triggers me about Kirby's Adventure, but this was a nice Saturday morning treat.
@NathanielBandy 0:50 Actually, there is ALWAYS an indication on whether or not Kirby has an ability. If he isn't icy blue or flashing (e.g. the Crash Ability), Kirby will be given a red tint when he has a copy ability, which can be seen in THE VERY CLIP YOU USED FOR YOUR CLAIM.

Actually the bar is glitchy because it views the levels not section by section, but grid by grid. So the "Glitchy bar" Loads the next row of sprites, with the colors of the almost unloaded sprites from the opposite side of the screen.
Man, this brings back memories! But seriously pressing up to jump is dumb. Also, yes if you're seeing this as 'A day ago' yes, I watched this early with Patreon, please stop asking.

Three ways how it triggers me too is that 1: The spear charge attack is so inaccurate (Hammer's charge attack is also inaccurate but you can do a instant KO, 2: There is no achievements or hats for mirror of sleep, and 3: some of the maps in story mode aren't accessible in battle mode

The controls are finicky, the framerate is unstable, and the colors may be off...
But this game introduced many mechanics that now are a staple of the series, like fall-bouncing on enemies, sliding, dashing, and the copy ability system.
Plus Nightmare in Dream Land made this game like 300 times better.
