WELCOME TO ANOTHER VLOG IN MY LIFE AS AN AMERICAN LIVING IN SOUTH AFRICA!! In this video I learn one of the main languages of South Africa: XHOSA! My friend Sam who is from South Africa taught me basic xhosa phrases, greetings, and grocery items. Then we went to the grocery store and I actually tried to utilize the Xhosa I learned. How did I do?

I love Xhosa...im also learning from a frnd who now stay here in Mpumalanga from PE.I speak Siswati....She's also learning my language.
@@thandekamagagula1443 ur languages r related u'll both learn fast
Wow it’s amazing that you’re learning Xhosa and really adapting to the SA culture 🙌🏾🇿🇦
When you coming back Khalis?
Ewe inja yami
@@Shadow_Blazer Hotboy December 🔥🔥🔥🔥
you are literally learning one of the hardest languages in SA 🤝 and you are really killing it
Broooooo😂🤞
Xhosa isn't one of the hardest languages in SA , but it is hard
But for me it's Afrikaans Xhosa is close to Zulu so I understand but Afrikaans is not going it for
You have not listened to my Venda peeps then 😃
All these need to learn English, one of doesn't mean the only... Meaning IsiXhosa is one of the most difficult languages in South Africa
Have url realize how African Americans light up when they're in South Africa??..watching all the vlogs of them in South Africa.
Indeed
Yep
Our beautiful Xhosa lady you are cute man... Cape Town we are have beautiful ladies
I’m killing this, I’m about to be fluent lol 😝
😂
Taylor the 1st American to say Xhosa in a proper way. Well done. I just want to say "umuhle okwendoni yamanzi". I just subed 😍
Tswana are calling something in South Africa they don’t click
You should go to shops and talk Xhosa to the staff in the store 🤣🤣 their reaction would be priceless
If I keep practicing I will 😂
They'll probably think she's colored 🤷🏾♂️
😂 y’all are cute, I just realized how cool this language sounds. Strawberry might be my favorite word in xhosa now
I'm impressed with your Xhosa Xoliswa😍😂
I'm Zulu, my girlfriend and myself went to the university of cape Town. She was fluent in isiXhosa within a month. Conclusion: black women are very wise, especially with languages; it explains why you were so quick to learn, unless you guys practiced 😅
Phela she's Zulu lol .....I'm Xhosa and I went to KZN for a weekend and I was already fluent in Zulu by Saturday morning lol
Part of the reason why it's called mother 👅😛 tongue ... women are Essential to every development of a society.
Bruuhh ,Xhosa and Zulu are really similar its like sepedi and setswana ,its not a suprice that she adapted quickly , actually its really easy for any Afrikan to learn any Afrikan language ...the exception is English and Afrikaans ...
@@thatego9417 not entirely true. IsiSwati is the most closest to isiZulu, followed by isiNdebele and then isiXhosa...
@@GrassrootsViews True... IsiXhosa is the most advanced Nguni language, other Nguni languages tend to be simple even foreigners speak zulU when trying isiXhosa because isiXhosa too sophisticated/Advanced
You're a natural. Your ancestors are definitely from the south of Africa
I was about to say the same thing 😂
sam is so beautiful bruh 😩 ❤❤
I''d swear you're Xhosa!😂😂😂
For real - you're a natural at these clicks
Am I the only person noticing that Taylor has doubled her subs since being in CT (SA). Well done on the content 👏👏👏
6x actually. she was on 2k or less when she landed.
South Africans are very supportive ❤️
@@tloumasipa8209 oh, cool, thanks for correcting me, I only started watching her content when she was on +5k.
She was actually under a thousand subscribers when she arrived... was not even monetized yet...
Was one of the first to watch...
So much fun! Love it 😂✨🤍
💕💕
she's south african queen indeed😘😘😘
You know it’s funny I followed you on tiktok way back before you moved to South Africa I used to watch your lives now it’s crazy your even trying to speak my language and I’m my country😭love to see it though
Can’t believe how well your pronunciation is 👌🏾
Taylor Spencer is now officially multi lingual, just bagged Xhosa with distinction. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a Champ!!🥇🥇🥳👏👏Legendary!!
This is hilarious 😂😂
I'd really swear you're Xhosa. You did so so well💯
What's up kiddo? You know the world's going crazy right now, but it's nice to see you having fun in Africa and living your best life. I've been busy doing this and that, so I haven't been able to check in on you, but I see you're doing just fine, keep it up, you look beautiful as always 💖💖💖💖 and when I get some time to myself I'll check in on you again, take care 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Whitney!! 💕💕
@@TaylorSpencer You're very welcome 👍👍💖💖
Dang Taylor is really good at Xhosa🔥🔥
she's doing so well wow!!!
Hey Taylor, I am proud to see you learn Xhosa, it comes soo natural to you
Great Xhosa lesson. I speak Zulu, so I also learned a bit. Taylor you should link up with two American RUclipsrs Mansa Mayne, and Julian Albino who are both in Cape Town at the moment. A crossover video would be great. Mansa's in Cape Town for the next week I think, before heading back to the US. Hit them up.
That would be awesome bro.
Don't forget the other new RUclipsr (Alexander).
Kanti why y'all keep on saying they should link up ? Link up for what ?
Been thinking the same thing…but like all their content is very different. I enjoy all their contrasting views tbh
@@tumelomoloisi7097 Because they both from the u.s
@@owamimbatha6528 That's it ? Wack!
Taylor you soo good at Xhosa girrrrl!!!!!!!! Like I personally know of south Africans who aren't as good at you at the pronunciation. Big ups!
Imagine she just got here but already is better than people who have been here for generations but can't speak any African languages
Banger as always 🔥🔥🤘
This is wonderful and you are really getting into the culture which is so important !!! You are the best!!!
❤️❤️❤️
She gets the assignment😂❤️
Love that she can say Xhosa😂❤️
"You'd swear I'm Xhosa"😂 that's so dope
My cheat code for the clicks
X = middle of the tongue hitting the roof of your mouth;
Q = front of the tongue harshly hitting the roof of the mouth;
C = front of the tongue lightly hitting the roof of the mouth (similar how to make the onomatopoeic sound of 'tisk, tisk')
Taylor and Samkelisiwe, excellent way to learn another language. Ndiyabulela kakhulu. How about "I am hungry", "I enjoy meat", "Curried vegetables are tasty". So out and order it and comment on your food. Or, prep and comment on your food. Just suggesting - lol.
Well done girl on your Xhosa, I hope keep learn more and can't wait for part 2 of u learning Xhosa ❤🔥❤
I'm impressed!!!!
Love u both♥️
You are stunningly beautiful Xoliswa ❤️😅
We need a part 2 of this… keep it up 👍🏽

Teach her this one " Whathinta abafazi Wathinta imbokodo ( Sam will translate in English ) " . So proud of you Spencer 👏. You're making the MADIBA language look beautiful I mean Beu tay ❤. 4 Real Home Girl in Town..
Madiba got a language 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣that is an insult to Xhosa nation, kings n nguni people as a whole
@@khulemotha8366 it was all said / written in Good spirit. Thanks to Mandela for the Freedom we now have. To be able to know and see beautiful people like Taylor Spencer. Especially within our own South African shores. I wish I would've met her TS. Love these guys all the way from Johannesburg GP.
@@khulemotha8366 He's right, IsiXhosa is Madiba's language even though that doesn't mean he founded/created the language...
Yes please part2 lol. Well done Taylor 👍 looking forward to seeing the next vlog
this was beautiful. 🧡
Damn! She's hitting the right keys!
I think Ilekese is also referred from the Afrikaans word Lekkers (which means sweets / candy in Afrikaans). We have such a nice diversity and influence of all languages. 👍🏻❤️🤗 Well done on this video!
Wow ♥️🔥😍that’s amazing I love how she teaches you and how fast you learn and grab the clings ✌️😊🔥welcome to Xhosa world
I love both your energies 😁
I loved this episode and big ups for learning the language. To learn the full South African experience you should also learn the Coloured History visit the Museums.
Lmfaoo 😂😂😂😂😂😂 she dont want no Afrikaans 💔
@@xhosaguy4889 she's here to learn all things South African, hope she gets a chance to experience the different cultures and diversity this beautiful country has to offer.
@Edgar Millis you right man she should explore everything Cape Town has to offer.
@@xhosaguy4889 don't be this guy 🚮. She told u she doesn't wanna learn Afrikaans?
@@moryndelu1428 you can say what ever you like I dont mind as I was saying..she dont want know Afrikaans language the reason is simple she know that she's black and she study what happened in 1976 when black youth died because they refused to be thought by Afrikaans at school while coloured people give away their language to follow Afrikaners and being fooled as if they better by speaking their language.
Ayeee go Taylor!!! Great content 👌 👏
Aside from the clicking, the vowel
on vowel mixtures is similar to Swahili
i actually really enjoyed this
Sam is a sweet heart.
We need part 2

You are good in languages and your clicks are on point
DOPE ENERGY!!! HOPE...HAVING ONLY POSITIVE ENERGY!
Quickly ran here after the SLIK TALK fight, Taylor might need to share the lessons with him.
Taylor you are very smart, you know how to learn. I am Xhosa. Associative learning is very key to remembering words. As a Greek and Latin student, I associate words in these languages to those of English since English took words from these. As a Hebrew and Aramaic student, I associate these with each other and sometimes with Amharic since they are Semitic languages. So that is always key to learning a language.
You really killed it 👏 though ncoo fluently 😁😁😁😊
