actually, its not very historic when looking at race. African Americans were segregated from white troops, along with japanese and native americans. So all the scenes where you see minority soldiers with white soldiers would never have happened during WW2. Its kind of sad the writers didnt incorporate this into the movie by having Steve stick up for black soldiers and maybe even have a connection with the Tuskagee airmen, the all black air brigade. Instead they did the complete opposite by having everyone integrated which just did not happen. If you want to watch the best representation of segregation during WW2, I would watch "A Soldiers Story " with Denzel Washington.
*Easter Egg:* In the Stan Lee cameo scene, Stan leaned over and talked to Reb Brown. Reb Brown played Captain America in the 1979 Captain America TV movie.

I think Steve's character is best summed up by his reply to Dr. Erskine if Steve wanted to "kill some Nazi's". Steve's reply of: "I don't want to kill anyone. I just don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from." was the best summation of his character. It's also one of the reasons he's one of my favorite characters. Great reaction!
I love how this movie is basically an old fashioned WWII film disguised as a superhero movie. This is a very good movie and the next two Captain America films are excellent.
"Back in the day, women still wearing skirts in the Army." They still do. Skirts are part of the dress uniform, not part of the combat cammies/fatigues. Nowadays I feel like they'd show that scene with the personnel being in cammies rather than dress uniform, but the dress uniform still exists in that same form. (Although I *think* women have a version of each dress uniform with pants rather than skirts, so you can choose pants if you want? I'm not 100% sure though.)

Howard Stark is based largely on Howard Hughes, of course, with a lot of Walt Disney thrown in. Of course, Tony is supposed to have been born in 1970, but his dad, in 1942 or so, looks about...25? So Howard was 53 when his child was born. Apparently he didn't join in with the Baby Boomer crowd in the later 40s. 53 is important, but I won't say why - spoilers.
Notice the name Tonsberg, Norway; we will see it again. Come to think of it, we've seen it once already. While it may be a bit over the top, that's how they sold war bonds. *@MoMoMyPup10* I didn't think they talked over everything, they comment sure but I've seen reactors literally talking like they never shut up the whole time or they pause the movie which is annoying. Run to the movies are fine. But you do have other options tons of boring reactors who just stare the whole time and don't say anything.
Actually, the producers did use a body replacement for skinny Steve to lose the muscle definition, but they more heavily used forced perspective to make him look small - like in the car, Steve and Peggy seem to be seated side by side, but "Peggy" is sitting closer to the camera to seem bigger than "Steve" while "Steve" is seated in a larger than normal seat further away so he looks smaller. The camera flattens your perspective and fosters the illusion provided the camera angles are chosen properly. Chris Evans did add considerable mass for the role, supposedly he gets no help from costume padding or sculpting plates.
I liked the bit about Cap leading the Howling Commandos. In the comics, they were lead by Nick Fury, who is strictly a present day character in the movies. Also, Bucky gets a total makeover here (which I liked)... in the comics, he was Cap's kid sidekick (like Robin to Batman).
@Hannah and Tori...Matthew McConaughey's body change in Dallas Buyer's Club is one of the most remarkable weight losses for a film role in recent memory - no CGI involved. And on the other end of the spectrum Russell Crowe's weight gain (pure fat) for Body of Lies and Tom Hardy's gain (pure muscle) for Warrior (which led into his continued muscle gain for the following year's role in Dark Knight) are no less impressive.
26:10 "The Tesseract was the jewel of Odin's treasure room," and is very powerful! The Red Skull was likely teleported though space, All those others who were affected by the Tesseract may have been transported to different locations in space too, even those "killed" by the Tesseract weapons! Things will become more clear as you continue your MCU journey!
I admire your dedication to recommending Mortal Kombat. We tally up all recommendations to determine what is to be recorded and you're definitely moving that film up the list... 😺
@RuntotheMovies I promise you, it is well worth it. The effects were great, acting was good, and the fight scenes were phenomenal. I know there was a remake of it not too long ago, but this first one in my opinion was by far, the best. Also, how is Boo? I'm a cat guy, and I think the little dude is awesome.
The captain America movie's are some of the best in marvel, you need to see 2&3 but 3 takes place right before avengers infinity war, so you need to leave that one or you'll spoil the rest of movies for yourself 😂
Milk. Bacteria-free drinking liquid was only available in limited areas in the 1940’s. It was still spreading across the US as infrastructure was built. Pasteurized milk and beer and wine were healthy beverages, unless you had a safe and reliable well.
They did two or three methods with Chris Evans, a very small actor and comped his head onto him, digitally shrank him, and I want to say another method. Corridor Crew explained it a while back.
They CGIed Chris Evans head on to a smaller actor's body. It wasn't just about weight, the other actor is also about a foot shorter. If you liked this you might enjoy the Agent Carter series - it's set just after the war and focusses on Peggy, Howard Stark, and Jarvis (the man Tony named his AI after). You might also like the first episode of "What If ?", in which Peggy is the one to get the serum, There are several versions of Cap over the years- in most comics he's described as "Peak Human", IOW he's as strong, fast, etc. as a human can theoretically be. So he does almost everything better than a normal human would. The MCU sometimes pushes him beyond that level. What makes him special isn't his power but his personality. He was already patriotic, determined, brave, and self-sacrificing before the process. He had all the qualities of a hero except power, unlike Tony Stark..
All MCU films have end credits, some have two. Only Avengers Endgame has no after credit. Also, the 2nd Captain America (CA The Winter Soldier) is a favorite of many people.

And, once again, Tori's facial expressions are on point. 😀Hannah's right there with her gleeful looks, and her understandable reaction to all the injections Steve had to have. If you think that was bad, remind me to tell you about the neuromuscular reaction/response tests I had to go through. Twice. 😀😲 The Captain America movies have, to me, the best storylines of the MCU. So excited to see you two react to this. Tommy Lee Jones (who was Agent K in Men In Black) was great as the brusque Army commander in this. And his line in the tense moment in the car made me laugh out loud when I saw the movie for the first time and still makes me grin now. 🙂 Excited for your next reaction!
Chris Evans did not lose a bunch of weight to get super-skinny. They CGI'ed his face onto a skinny actor's body. You'll notice that Skinny Steve is much shorter, and it obviously would've been impossible for Chris Evans to shrink himself by two or three feet. His muscles after the serum were real though.
Once again,...😔 Y'ALL ENJOY!!! I'll see you again 1 day... Hopefully??? 🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding! These must be good if everyone's requesting & you ladies having fun. All that matters to me!😁 I WILL see you again! ...1 day!😔 Rock On!!! 🤘🌎❤
With skinny Steve it isn't just the matter of weight loss, the serum causes him to grow a full 10 inches taller. No amount of dieting could account for that kind of difference, a real body transformation was literally impossible
We haven't made a reaction to it because everyone here has already watched it before we started to do RUclips. But there are plenty of other awesome films for us to cover.
10:59 that part where she tried to touch his pecs wasn't part of the script 😂, the actress was shocked at his physique and she touched to see if it's real
how do they have these motorcycles in the 40's? thats the question you ask while watching people with weilding double flamethrowers and a vebranium shield....
The patriotic song while selling bonds was not dumb or stupid. You girls live in an age when for some reason people are ashamed to be patriotic. When the Japanese attacked us and pulled us into WWII, America became very patriotic. In 2001 when the 9/11 terror attacks happened on our country, we became patriotic again. People were waving flags, singing songs, celebrating. It was a great period because people pulled together and stopped being black, white, etc and became Americans again. It always seems to take tragedy to pull us together but when it happens, you start to see the good in people and in the identity of your nation
Did he get that skinny? Well since in addition to 100 lbs lighter he was also about A FOOT SHORTER, pre-procedure...I will go with, no. That is the main cause of the screaming in the transformation scene. One's spine growing a foot in adulthood...is not fun. For reference en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rack_(torture)

We haven't made a reaction to it because everyone here has already watched it before we started to do RUclips. But there are plenty of other awesome films for us to cover.
So, did anyone tell them that it was two different actors playing Steve?
❤
yea he shrunk over a foot for the role..dedicated...
10:59 that part where she tried to touch his pecs wasn't part of the script 😂, the actress was shocked at his physique and she touched to see if it's real
Can you blame her? 😉
Forgot Filch was in the MCU...,
and peggy tried to kill captain america for kissing another woman, not even she was his girlfriend, what he says about jealousy kills is true
I don't think she tried to kill him. She just vented her anger at him and the shield. Wouldn't you, in her place?

The patriotic song while selling bonds was not dumb or stupid. You girls live in an age when for some reason people are ashamed to be patriotic. When the Japanese attacked us and pulled us into WWII, America became very patriotic. In 2001 when the 9/11 terror attacks happened on our country, we became patriotic again.
People were waving flags, singing songs, celebrating. It was a great period because people pulled together and stopped being black, white, etc and became Americans again. It always seems to take tragedy to pull us together but when it happens, you start to see the good in people and in the identity of your nation
Hos head was just cgi pasted on another actor.
