I don’t think that this is a good strategy. Cutting too many vills for scouts is not a good idea. Your eco will be way worse.

6 isn't too many and for tram games that go on well past 50 minutes, this is a very effective strategy to optimise the free food you have as well as gather it at a faster rate too. Add in the fact that you can use the wood elsewhere and those delayed 6 villagers seem pretty inconsequential. Again, its a situation specific strategy and worked best in 4v4s for me.

@@Virtualism22 A 6 vill lead for the opponent is a lot, especially off the bat. In aoe2 top players may even gg when they lose 1 vill in the early game. The scouts also don't make up the lost resources. Deer hunt rate is 0.825 while the sheep gather rate would be 0.75. You would need 10 vills on deer for it to be equal to 1 extra vill on sheep.

Because no young blood, the "expert" mentality that is why aoe2 meta has been stuck for years

This was from the technical test. I don't think they are having another BETA now as the release is just a couple of weeks away now.
