I know JR East Narita Express E259 in Japan does this. It couples first, then opens the nose automatically connecting the gangway. The drivers cab is above the nose.
Keikyu railway is an impressive case. Multiple videos posted here has during morning rush hour shows 4 car trains connect to an 8 car express train at Kanazawa Bunko station until decouples at Shinagawa terminus. The main train continues to Asakusa subway and Keisei railway.

I have to thank you for filming that. I'm currently modelling the BART Legacy Fleet as 3D-Model for the game Transport Fever, and your video really helped me to understand how this coupling is done 😃
    Thanks a lot

Me too. But they also do breaking of the trains in the station itself. I am so afraid to get a clip of them breaking apart, because one guy told me not to film them, so I didn't film them. Can you get a clip of the trains breaking apart? As far as I know, the first train that will break into shorter trains is from 9:31 to 9:36am, the last one is from 11:31 to 11:36am.

      They're called," Fingers".
Years ago a blind woman standing on a Bart platform heard the train pull into the station. She heard the doors open up and proceeded to walk into a car using her cane to help guide her. Unfortunately she walked off the platform in between two cars and fell.
Long story short the installation of the Fingers came about after the lawsuit.
Blind persons can tell if they're in between cars now by waving their cane around. If they feel, hear the "Fingers" being hit they know they're not standing at the door threshold.

@phsycopiano Think those are the trains that are being used to break them apart and they stick them back in for the morning or evening commute. However, I was told when they break the trains, there's the air pressure that releases the cup (bottom part of the train) and the needle also gets released and they close the doors getting shorter train lengths.

All major subways will couple trains anywhere on the line in recovery mode. Including stations.
