  • In_Cahoots was the earliest iteration of Blueroom
In_Cahoots were a band formed at Oswestry School in 2001. The initial idea for a band came from David Hopkins and Alan Chaplin who wanted a comedic vehicle. Patrick Gough was drafted on drums and Alex Gore on Bass, followed by Alan Goulbourne on guitar who saw the potential of the band and assumed the role of band leader, whipping them into shape, writing songs and organising rehearsals. As David Hopkins didn't play an instrument he was removed from the band, but remained in esteem as it's founder.
We used to practice often in the drum room at school, often with an audience. We primarily played Nirvana covers and Goulbourne's compositions.
In_Cahoots even had a geocities site at one point! But it was hijacked by jealous friends who vandalised it and restyled it as a website about "The Hermie Boys" - a fictional band.
In_Cahoots performed one epic gig in the school hall - the Peter Humphreys center, or PHC. It was attended by all the boarders and other students who came especially on a very cold Saturday night in December. I remember there was a huge corona around the moon that night.
The gig was actually filmed but that tape is now lost. However, It seems I took the provision to record the gig on cassette and until rediscovering it a few months ago did not know it existed.
We were supported that night by a band of Cantonese students called The Opposites Band. I did not record them, and I don't think this is the full quota of songs we did either.
    In_Cahoots were
    Alan Chaplin - Guitar, Vocals
    Alex Gore - Bass guitar
    Patrick Gough - Drums
    Alan Goulbourne - Guitar
