  • I used my Yeti SmartBench CNC router to make a floating shoe shelf. This was a great second woodworking project, and my wife is very happy. I made a few mistakes, but it all turned out well.

One thing I have learned is ALWAYS dry fit prior to glue up
    Really like your videos

That’s good advice, and I will certainly do that next time. Thanks.

Lol if you think that was over engineered you should see the house a Boing engineer built in Meydenbauer.
You are doing just fine John.

Oh, interesting. I'll have to see if I can track that down and see it.

@@JohnSL it's a house built late 70's in a steep section of LW.
It only had two contact points with the ground. A giant concrete foot/ swimming pool and the top floor kitchen.
The house has a big concrete/steel health rest of the house is cantilevered out from. Spine and ribs is best description.
It had been abandoned. A group I know bought and remodeled it. Around 1990. Ownership today I don't know.

Turned out great! Did you have to fill the end grain of the plywood, or did sanding/painting cover up that uneven surface? Well done!

I applied edge banding on the plywood edges and then painted the edge banding. Very quick.
