"I really appreciate the discovery of the experience" -maggie love it! :) also, there's a typo in the show notes for maggie's #1 which should be at 40:49 :) loved the lists, agree with a lot of 'em!
Really appreciate these reviews/discussions. You both have natural media personalities, easy to follow, easy to like, and I love it that you have eclectic tastes and will try all kinds of things. It's starting to be the case that if I become interested in a game, I first check to see if you've commented.
You guys are so cute together, and always so positive and enthusiastic. It's a feel-good-moment any time I watch your videos. Thanks especially for this one with so many games I have not heard of yet.
Thanks for the video! (Making my rounds in catching up.) Intriguing lists by each! Also looking forward to Fliptown and Fit To Print. :) Other games I'm looking forward to include Rolling Heights and Terraforming Mars: The Dice Game.
my top picks from your list are Earth (loved it on TTS, only played it once yet, though..) and Arydia (Xia is amazing, and I am very much looking forward to this..), even though I fear this won't make it in 2023..? let's see, *fingerscrossed* ! my most anticipated games of 2023 are: Frosthaven (still haven't got it yet!), Voidfall (Mindclash games ftw!) and Euthia - Resurrected (though, I fear this will easily move to 2024..)
There are so many fabulous looking games coming out! I added Motor City to my list after watching this video. Also very interested in Earth, Floe, Arborea, Hickory Dickory, Darwin’s Journey and who knows what else.
Great list. Amy I can't believe your no. 1 -- again Space?! Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies would be my number two on this list, right after 7th Citadelle. Stellaris and the Adventure Book with all the other new Robinson Crusoe stuff would closely follow. I passed on Mythwind - the all-in was just too expensive. Ha, and another one is not anticipated any more: just got my City of the Great Machine yesterday.
Horseless Carriage is about to arrive anytime now! I think mine will arrive within a week, so excited. Qawale looks great! Unfortunately I only get the Mini version of those game so I hope they make it.
Excellent top 10 list! I am looking forward to Darwin’s Journey, Earth, Motor City, and Maple Valley the most! All which I backed! I, like you Amy, am not so much into the heavy narrative games but think it’s awesome you are starting to enjoy more Co Ops and Space! ❤
Hello! I recently discovered your channel and I must say that I really enjoy your wits and charm. You complement each other in a perfect way that makes your reviews interesting and enjoying to watch. I love your way of approaching a game and I find my self returning to your channel and videos over and over again. Your reviews are objective and fair and since my brain is equally thinker and themer sometimes, your videos appeal oh so greatly to me. Keep up the good work!! Love from Norway.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this, it's so lovely to get positive feedback. Welcome to the channel and we look forward to chatting about games with you more! Have a great week ☺️
Fantastic lists with some great picks. One you didn’t mention that I’m really looking forward to is Beast - beautiful thematic looking 1-vs-many game. Septima’s also up there! I think you already missed the Slay the Spire campaign, sadly - funded on Kickstarter in November. It was expensive, so retail will probably be the best option anyway. 😊
thank you for the list, i will have to check some of these out when they are released!! personally i am suuper excited about FLOE and Septima! Such gorgeous games.
My most anticipaded games for 2023+ are special editions games with updated art and components for Feast for Odin, Le Havre and Trajan. They were not announced 😀but keep my fingers crossed that they will do it as they are doing it for Castles of Burgundy Special Edition.
So happy to see several games that are on my anticipated list: Hickory Dickory Maple Valley Arborea (I just backed) I don't know if this has hit y'all's radar but Trolls and Princesses launches on kickstarter today! It looks like a fun one.
We were really in sync on those first four or five games! I have also been waiting for Darwin’s Journey (the ships are at sea chugging along to each of us and yours will get to you just a bit before mine gets to me.) and Motor City (mine is due to ship from fulfillment ANY MOMENT NOW!) I also love that “Hickory Dickory” is Amy’s “Frau Blücher.”
I have backed Through Ice and Snow and am also very excited about it. Being a Canadian, the quest for a route through the Northwest Passage is historically relevant. I also like that they have been consulting wiith Inuit Peoples and the Government of Nunavut. With the discovery and the study of the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror from the Franklin Expedition under the ice, the topic of the game is very interesting to me.
Finally catching up on some videos 😊 love the list! Definitely looking forward to Earth and also VERY excited for Slay The Spire.. before that came out as a video game I never would have called myself a video game person and now I’ve played hundreds of hours of it.. it’s one of the best deck builders (board or video game) I’ve ever played and I can’t wait to see what it’s like in board game version!
Hi Amy and Maggie! The one's from your lists that I'm most looking for include: Last Light Darwin's Journey Sleeping Gods 2'ish Earth Arydia Earthborne Rangers FLOE I got to play Last Light twice on TTS with Roy. I had a great time even though I'm not really into games where you attack your opponents. But it was so quick and had other fun mechanisms, so the combat didn't bother too much. It may actually be my number one as well :D I definitely appreciate that Earthborne Rangers really tried make their game using sustainable methods. I wish Earth used natural rubber in their playmats like Earthborne Rangers (Stonemaier is doing this too), but they stuck with neoprene, so I decided to pass on those even though I love the look of them. Anyway, hope you both are doing well! See ya next time! :D
I was tempted by Last Light, but decided to go with the reprint of Sol: Last Days of a Star instead. Similar table presence and board, but it already has great reviews out there including one by Cole Wherle praising it on BGG. Only others I have coming is the expansion to the beautiful Tang Garden, and possibly Mythwind, which I've only backed for a $1 till I've read through the recently released rulebooks to see if it has enough crunch to be a 'never ending game'.
Wow earthborne rangers and last light as top pics! I only backed earthborne. A hopeful co op card game with beautiful art is just firmly in my wheelhouse!
Looking forward to at least 6 of these, missing Voidfall! Maggies top is so Monikers! Great to see a Splotter on as well although that table presence is well basic?
Thanks for sharing all this info. I don't keep up on board games enough to know what is on the horizon, so I appreciate the look into these upcoming games. Floe does look really cute and sounds neat. I'm going to check out all those campaign games too. I'll keep an eye of Last Light as well. I think when it comes to selecting games, I tend to be 60-75% on the themer side, and when it comes to playing games, that percentage gets flipped to the thinker side.
My #1 anticipated game is also Earthborne Rangers! I am unbelievably excited for it. It has a chance to become one of my top games of all time for sure. It just scratches like every itch for me
Apparently I'm aligned with Maggie. Looking forward to Mythwind, Sleeping Gods: DS, and Arydia. I am a bit worried regarding how a few of my group will react to the lack of an end goal in Mythwind, but I feel like the general interest in Stardew Valley does bode well.
Ha! My three top most anticipated games are exactly the same as Maggie! 😂 I’ve been enjoying Earthborne Rangers on TTS. Also, backers for Mythwind just got the rules books to read and I’m just… too excited 😄
You got me to pre-order earth bound rangers, which I had on my list, but somehow missed the campaign. Just in time too, they are about to close the pre-order store on the 31st.
Such a fun video--you guys have such great banter! (I miss Small Talk; maybe you guys can consider doing a one-off episode to catch up and answer some IAQs). Anyway, I'm curious if you were able to actually cull any of the games you set aside to and get them out of your house, or did you just create a new pile 😅 In any case, love your content and looking forward to the next video.
Hi there! I'm looking forward to Nightmare Cathedral, Septima, Unconscious Mind, and Fliptown (among others) in 2023. Do you think Arborea is going to be the "Wonderland's War of 2023" in terms of colorful design? Now you've got me interested in Last Light, dang it! Off to Gamefound to do some research...
I don't understand where the name "qawwali" comes from. The pile of pebbles found on trails are cairns. I hadn't heard of the word 'qawwali' before, but apparently is some type of singing/music. This has nothing to do with whether the game is good or not. Just curious why they chose that name.
Floe respresents a trend that I realy dislike. It was announced sometime last year, but not the actual release, no no no no. The KS campaign! Over half a year after the announcement. The KS starts march, and I reeeealy doubt that the game willbe out in 2023. It is getting ridiculous! I much Much prefer Stonemayer Games' model where they announce a release a month or two before...
Stonemaier have the experience, connections and resources to promote their releases with the model they have. You can't reasonably expect small first-time publishers to follow the model of a multimillion dollar international company.
best of luck paying for and waiting for to be the guinea pig for first editions. Because that's what you are - guinea pigs. Then one day second edition comes along and you're dumping your first edition to.. whom? I'm out. I have all the games I could ever play.
I’m blown away! Seeing Last Light on a top ten at all is amazing but Amy’s number one!??!? 😱 I’m shook! It’s so surreal… thank you so much!

"This is hardly survival, this is thrival".
Love that quote by Maggie.
Came to the comments to say this!

Great video! I have MotorCity coming soon, and backed Sleeping Gods Distant Skies. Happy to play Earth with you on BGA!
You guys are so cute together, and always so positive and enthusiastic. It's a feel-good-moment any time I watch your videos.
Thanks especially for this one with so many games I have not heard of yet.
That's really lovely to hear... thank you so much for watching ☺️
So stoked for Through Ice and Snow
You two are a delight to watch, your interactions with each other are what marriage is all about, thanks for sharing and your time x
Yes! Yes! Yes! Loving ALL the top 10s. I miss back chat and small talk, but you two look like you're having fun with these.
Thanks for the video! (Making my rounds in catching up.)
Intriguing lists by each! Also looking forward to Fliptown and Fit To Print. :)
Other games I'm looking forward to include Rolling Heights and Terraforming Mars: The Dice Game.
'This is not survival, it's thrival.' Hahaha, Maggie, excellent! :D
I love how laughy you both are in this one! So much fun. I just laugh with you and find myself 25 minutes in my cheeks hurt from smiling so hard!
❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much! And sorry for the delayed reply. Hope u are well friend !!! 💓
So many great choices here! My most anticipated also include My Island, Sleeping Gods Distant Skies, and Last Light! Thanks for this great countdown.

Earthborne Rangers!! Yeah! I am so psyched for this one. First game I backed for 2023...along with Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies. I must be a Themer.
Great lists! I also very excited for Fliptown and Sleeping Gods Distant Skies, both of which I backed. 2023 is going to be a great year for games!
I have backed Through Ice and Snow and am also very excited about it. Being a Canadian, the quest for a route through the Northwest Passage is historically relevant. Great to see a Splotter on as well although that table presence is well basic?
This was really cool, now I gotta find a way to get my hands on through ice and snow
I'm super interested in Floe. Looking forward to learning more about it.
Thanks for sharing all this info. I don't keep up on board games enough to know what is on the horizon, so I appreciate the look into these upcoming games. Floe does look really cute and sounds neat. I'm going to check out all those campaign games too. I'll keep an eye of Last Light as well.

Makes sense because I'm also a themer!
I think Tidal Blades 2 is my most anticipated, the art and the fresh mechanic in dungeon crawling drew me in
Thanks for this highly interesting video. Love your chemistry, plus I discovered quite a few games that I had never heard before. 😀👌

Super exciting list! Miss you two! Hope all is well
AMY: You can't say hickory, dickery….with out saying dock
MAGGIE: I do not know the nursery rhyme
AMY: WHAAAT!!??
ME: 🤣🤣🤣
I only have a couple of these coming. Just when I think I’m on top of new releases . . .
Such a fun video--you guys have such great banter! (I miss Small Talk; maybe you guys can consider doing a one-off episode to catch up and answer some IAQs). New Sleeping Gods, this is so great! Earthborn Rangers look interesting, too.

Do you think Arborea is going to be the "Wonderland's War of 2023" in terms of colorful design? Now you've got me interested in Last Light, dang it! Off to Gamefound to do some research...
I checked in hoping to see Artisans of Splendent Vale on your list, but you're already playing it! Do you like it? Will you be posting a review soon?
Excellent list! I’m going to add some of them to mine 😁❤
So many of these games are on my list that I'm becoming curious about the one's I didn't know. 😅
Just so you know, I blame you ladies for my late pledging Last Light. :)
Great list and I'll be watching for...most of them. 😂 Would you consider any of these games gateway games? Cheers!
I backed Darwin's Journey, too. Quite excited
I think Slay the Spire is already completed in crowdfunding. Maybe you are lucky in retail or can late pledge
had the chance and took it: 200th like! :)
So many good games listed here 😃 Now there are more I want to play 😂
ok nice we'll see
Surprised Maggie didn’t have “Lands of Galzyr” on her list
Amazing list!!!! Will y'all be at Dice Tower West this year??
I don't understand where the name "qawwali" comes from. The pile of pebbles found on trails are cairns. I hadn't heard of the word 'qawwali' before, but apparently is some type of singing/music. This has nothing to do with whether the game is good or not. Just curious why they chose that name.
Roguebook is so much better than Slay the Spire. Never understood the hype for the latter.
Floe respresents a trend that I realy dislike. It was announced sometime last year, but not the actual release, no no no no. The KS campaign! Over half a year after the announcement. @@sjcak Good point. 👍Didnt think about that. Its annoying non the less. There even was once an announcement for the announcement for a KS. 🤦
The timestamp for Maggie's #1 is wrong.
40:53 is correct I think if anyone was wondering
best of luck paying for and waiting for to be the guinea pig for first editions. Because that's what you are - guinea pigs. Then one day second edition comes along and you're dumping your first edition to.. whom?
I'm out. I have all the games I could ever play.
