I love this stuff I've been using it for years! I recently used it to fix a pin hole leek in my water tank in the loft. It fixed it great, I drained the tank first and sanded the sight of the leak. Even that pin hole leak cause a lot of water damage as it must have gone unnoticed for months. Thankfully it's all dried out now! It does the job until I get the time to replace the tank. Much better than other sealants. I also used it to reattach a headlight washer on a car. It's also good to use as an insulator for wires. I like to put a magnet inside sugru and and stick it to my desk that way it holds phone chargers etc.
I've fitted small spirit level vial's to the top and underside of my cordless drill, making sure it was parallel to the shaft axis. Comes in handy when having to drill holes in awkward places.
I bought some Sugru a couple of days ago for my laptop charger as the cable had worn down and left the inside wires exposed. It should arrive soon I will let you know how it gets on
This sure is great, I bought some to fix my apple leads that wear out typically and fray if they get tangled in the vac 😝 it's sort of like silicone and with wet fingers you get a smooth finish also goes a long way. Is pricey but so is Apple branded leads 😉
AmoebicMagician Not sure, sorry as I have never used the other products. The Sugru sets like an hard rubber, it's quite stiff in large parts but flexible if you apply it thinly.
I have done so much with this stuff. I have created a pressure button for a pill case since it is just elastic enough to require some good pressure to open, fixed a grip for a knife I own, molded a soft insert for a sliding door, a cushion for the same door so the door does not slam but lightly rebounds from the wall, fixed cords, and repaired many small things. Excellent stuff, I find it sticks to more things better, and is more useful in general, than multi purpose silicone caulk or two part silicone mixed with a talc or corn starch.
@@ultimatehandyman bought it from the nearest hardware store that I've promised myself repeatedly I would not go back to. Didn't think to check for a date stamp. Thanks. I love quarrelling with them. Here goes...
@@ultimatehandyman thanks for the prompt. Checked the date: 2018!!!! It'll be my last trip to this particular hardware store, to claim my money back. Hence forth I'd rather drive the extra 25 mins to get to their competitor.
If i wasnt subbed to you I would be stuck between a rock and a hard place your vids are so simple yet so helpful and are very much appreciated. Have you seen or heard polymorph plastic its sort of the same concept it might be an interest to you more towards home diy/repairs
UH, sorry I don't watch every single video of yours, but it highlights the fact that you have really lost weight and are looking very healthy. Congratulations and thanks for showing us the newest, coolest stuff. That Sugru looks a bit like the plumbers putty I bought. I think it was called that. You mix it up and then can shape it into whatever shape you want ... but I am not sure it sticks to anything.
justgivemethetruth Thanks, yes I have managed to get back to the gym and have been eating healthily. I have been to the gym for most of my life but was too busy about 4 years back and packed it in, but then I realised I was probably putting myself in an early grave so I returned. I'm now 97kg's but have been 115kg's at my heaviest. Thanks for noticing ;-)
justgivemethetruth I don't think that will happen but you never know LOL I used to be in good shape in my twenties and had a six pack for years, weight training 5-6 days a week and kickboxing a similar amount of times per week+continental shifts kept me at 69kg's for years! You have to watch out as you get older, I have dropped three trouser sizes in the last few months. I did know that I was fat and out of shape though, it's just that I was too busy to get back to the gym.Diet is the main contributor though. Thanks for the comment ;-)
Hendrik Hallo It is water resistant once cured, as they have used it to repair a dishwasher basket on their website. Not sure about the oil though! Thanks for the comment
That stuff looks amazing Chez. There must be a million uses for a product like that. Will definitely keep that in mind for when the need arises. PS. Who's the village idiot?
BeardyRebel Hi Kev,Yes it has plenty of uses! Village idiot is a mate who helps me on the larger jobs. Heis as mad as a hatter; you can see him in these videos- ruclips.net/video/KroAfHVx4zo/видео.html ruclips.net/video/3CJygvnajUA/видео.html And of course this one- ruclips.net/video/dRoCUl4sSDA/видео.html
BeardyRebel He doesn't mind being called the Village idiot ;-) I must make more videos with him in them as he will get millions of hits with the stupid things he does and says- he really is quite entertaining ;-)

I'll be looking for more things to use it on now ;-)

Great idea. You’ve inspired me.
It's great stuff. Used it to fix a hole in my washing machine rubber seal. Works perfectly.

"Hey hun, I found all these foil packets in your work pockets. Don't bother replying I've packet your case! "Doh!"
Burp Reynolds Also advises in the video to "clear up with a tissue after".
:-)
"You don't want the kids finding the wrappers so put them in the wheelie bin!"

Thanks for the comment.
I'll try smoothing it with wet fingers next time ;-)
Awesome material. I am surprised!
ESYEKEI
I was surprised at how well it worked ;-)
Thanks for the comment
how sturdy is this stuff in comparison to say shoe goo, or other evaporatively cured polymers?
AmoebicMagician
Not sure, sorry as I have never used the other products.
The Sugru sets like an hard rubber, it's quite stiff in large parts but flexible if you apply it thinly.

I think you have sold me on buying some to test out. Cheers!

Does it dry like rubber or is it solid?
leeroy8t5
It dries like hard rubber, although if you apply it thinly it is very flexible.
Thanks for the comment
I just bought the white glue - it is rigid and unmouldable, coming straight out of the packet and there are NO instructions as to how to soften it.
It sounds like it has gone off.
Is it in date?
I would ask for a replacement.

Can it be used to stick à mirror to à tile ?
No. But you can get some adhesives specifically for mirrors such as mirror mate

Thanks, I will use it on my electric scooter charger. I can't grip it very well and I actually pulled the wire out and I had to buy a new charger.
I,m sure that there must be applications for this for model railway enthusiasts.
