I love the fact that she incorporates the old with the new Reminds me of our grandmother's scrappy patchwork, made with love. The outdated stuff in our fabric hoard does not have to be ignored. You don't have to buy a dozen fabrics in a designer's line to insure that your quilt "matches." I got bored with traditional quilts a long time ago, and Kathy pushes sewists into a new world. I have all her books, and acquired quite a stash of Australian fabric since following her career. The brilliant colors are wonderful, like in the background quilt. Some of her quilt blocks are huge, which helps us jaded old quilters move past our own boundaries.
