This is one of the very few games that I could play over and over and get everytime exited! When you got a great story, a rich world, amazing characters.......and a lot and a lot more.......you got something like this masterpiece. Everyone should try this game and all the trilogy :)

I cant agree between 2 and 1. There are some irreplaceable moments in 1. Like becoming a spectre, the first one of your species. The eerie feel of coming across the thorian for the first time. Learning all about the different aliens for the first time, especially Liaras unique species with them living so long, and only being one gender. Then the more important ones such as the eerie and incredible moment of talking to Sovereign for the first time, finding out the ship itself is the reaper and that its alive. Learning the truth of the protheans, that it wasn't their technology our galaxy is built upon. The fact that the extinction is built upon a cycle that keeps occurring and nobody knows how to stop it. The battle of the citadel. And don't forget ilos with finding out that alot of protheans bunkers were powered down to save specific ones. The countless deaths of innocence. But then on number 2 you have amazing characters. All of them playable with intriguing backstories. The unforgettable dlc with David and the rogue AI. And for me, the best moment was the ending. The music, the fact that nobody has been to the collector homeworld and survived, and that crazy dormant human reaper at the end. It's hard to decide for me so I gave up trying. 😅
I'm probably in the minority here... but I think making every single game 'open world' in recent years has diminished their epicness and storytelling. What you get is an endless world with very little memorable things to do, you basically waste most of your time to get from A to B. Here's a game that didn't need that and was absolutely incredible.

Mass effect 2 is the odd one out in the series, and yet it stands as my favourite in the entire trilogy. It is packed with personality, and the way it fleshes out the squad members with loyalty missions is amazing. I love this game so much that I immediately noticed the shift in tone with mass effect 3. That felt more like a direct continuation to ME 1 rather than the sequel. There is something special about ME2. And that is the focus on these fascinating characters and their stories. I loved this effing game so much for it, and still do.
Such a great game. So little wasted space. There's very little filler dialogue in this game (series). Every conversation either builds character development or is plot driven. Great writing.
