Awesome video!!! I’m currently traveling through New Jersey and besides Princeton, I’m not impressed with the main cities, things to do. Then I noticed Morristown and it looks like a must visit!
My hometown my heart many great memories I miss the Jewish center where my family worked for years and years. I miss longfellows so many good memories🙏🏽📿🎚♥️☺️
I wonder why they couldn't hunt for their food, or at least fish? Especially in Northern New Jersey there are bountiful lakes and rivers. I know most froze over but you'd think they would of anticipated winter in general and maybe tried to stock up. I guess with meager supplies it was hard to do anything.
Hi -- thanks for the comment on the film. I asked one of the historical consultants on the team about your question, and he responded: Discharge of a weapon in or near camp would be an alarm of an attack of some sort. To hit was a waste of valuable military supplies and given that few animals were abundant like they are to given they were hunted by civilians and much of their habitat was cleared for farming and such would reduce their populations. Fishing, again they are military and with that have little or no idle time. It would not solve their food shortage but create more problems with in the morale of the men. They are provided with food as per their enlistment. Supply was an issue especially when winters were difficult.
that many people hunting in an already populated area would have severly depleted the animal population any deer population would have left the area. being an outdoorsman fish are not very cooperative during the winter time they do not readilt bite on a hook when ice fishing and since the lakes and rivers were frozen over netting them would be very difficult. we only have the wildlife we have now because of careful conservation.

Most of the smaller towns are much nicer to visit than the cities unfortunately. Political corruption stinks
Thank You for this!
Great portrait of this desperate winter.
Took my son last month to the soldier’s huts at the Pennsylvania Line and on cue, it started snowing….
Very well done! Lived in Morristown for many years.
Gives me chills just watching. Also, R.I.P to the legend Edward Hermann.
Thoroughly enjoyed this.
