- Christianity arose and spread in a Hellenistic culture, in which the Greek language served as a lingua franca over a large geographic area containing many ethnic groups, religions, and cultures. @PhiloofAlexandria
You are not alive ! You only exist. In order to gain true Life you need to connect with Life in Person , Jesus Christ.
Come, walk the path that was predestined for you, Son and Daughter of the Most High !
The Lord of Hosts awaits you ! Come !…
Thank you sir!!
Christianity is an extension of hellenised Yahwism
Is it just me or is Christianity not even mentioned here?
this guy must be some freemason or somwthing
What denomination is he to question the trinity and then also claim Christianity is reslly just neo platonism
@@driatrogenesis
The “Trinity” is not taught in the Bible but rather is a tradition to explain the “oneness” of the Godhead.
@@thekolobsociety Yes it is,
Every single legit Christian denonimation teaches the trinity
What denomination are you?.?
@@thekolobsociety Wrong
Its in the bible in several places...Go do your homework

Now Say! What IS it! 🌈🗡️⚖️🎶
More to come? As a student of the late Sir Roger Scruton, I am curious how this unfolds.
Definitely!
Sir Roger Scruton is one of my favorite philosophers!
Philosophical influence? Practical influence in the ruling class I can see happening. A uniform schooling. The architects and trades might have schools, but was that so? Did they have, instead, guilds. Guilds that guarded their knowledge like priests. How did the guilds and schools influence each other? Were they both funded by the ruling class or were they both self-funded?
What if nuclear physicists, computer coders, solar panelists all had guilds? Would there be much philosophizing? Or would everyone be forced into a specialized field to earn their keep? How many nuclear physicists would there be then? Philosophers?
There is an opposite claim that value IS the precondition for perception, from what i know, it's related to evolutionary theory, and the first lifeforms as is. Imagine yourself this first random self replicating thing at the bottom of the ocean. You only will start developing perception and information processing mechanisms along with it only because you already need to self replicate, which is already the value, so value was the precondition for perception at that stage. What do you think?
At this point middle platonism was also an important intellectual trend (including in the Jewish context with Philo)
You'll be hearing more about that soon!
@@PhiloofAlexandria hi. Is it possible by any chance to be on paid sponsored podcast ?
What a great lecture. Short, but full of well presented, objective information. I appreciate the history lesson. Thank you.
please turn this series into a podcast!
What’s the best site for hosting one?
@@PhiloofAlexandria I personally have turned many of your lectures into MP3 files so as to use them as "podcasts" of sort. There are many podcasting platforms out there, some of which are free to use.
@@PhiloofAlexandria This comment excites me.
I thought Neo platonism had more of an influence than what was described here.. I thought much of early church doctrine was based on Plotinus. Am I wrong?
Might be a surprise to you but it was based on Jesus Christ, and his disciples
@@driatrogenesis actually christianity is greek while jesus and his followers were Aramaic speaking jews. they may have provided the seeds of the story but it was transformed into a greek theology that would appeal to the greek masses.
@@beijingbro2 Andnyet others claim it was Roman invention
How about its neither
@@beijingbro2 Are you a Christian?
@@driatrogenesis I'm not here to defend anyone's opinion other than my own. Jesus was in fact an Aramaic speaking jew and so were his followers. the gospels were in fact written 40-70 years after Jesus died and they were written in greek. they were not translated from Aramaic. they were written in greek by native greek speakers. the apostle Paul wrote his letters in greek for a greek speaking audience. he was writing to convert non jewish gentiles. he is in fact known as the apostle to the gentiles. st Augustine developed his theology based on the greek philosophy of Neo-platonism. these are all indisputable facts.
argue the points..
