I love the lyrics in this but I also love the way his voice sounds it's gruff in its own way but the notes are clear. It makes me curious because the belting he does in this is phenomenal if he could metal scream or fry scream would it be just as phenomenal??
Also, can we talk about how good that pitch correction in the whisper vocal is? Like, in any other context it'd be so uninspired and unnecessary, but the line "everything's perfect here and the sun is shining" over a whisper vocal that's been pitched to "perfection" is so uncanny to me and I have no idea if that's the normal reaction to have. Like, "sure, everything's perfect, autotuned and everything, but a whisper vocal's not supposed to be perfect."
I'm not sure if he's doing this, but what I do when I want clarity and screech at the same time is I activate both my sets of vocal cords and then screech one pair.
I guess it’s to draw more attention to the fact that the kids he is talking about are spreading misinformation or just live in their own fantasy where everything is perfect despite it obviously being horrible in reality.
