I agree! To be honest, it was already great in Soul Harvest, but the addition of ranked, and a free to play edition makes an enormous difference. Can't complain about trolls either :D

@@NakamuraRTS Advertising seemed rough, I was a big fan of the base Spellforce 3 but I had no idea they'd made standalones and improved everything. I didn't even launch multiplayer in the base game. Immediately picked up Fallen Gods!

Just found out about this game. Am gonna check it out - the base game is currently on a great sale so I got it and I'll see if it's my sort of thing.
Do i need to play multiplayer via purchased game or through installed "Versus" mode of the game. In steam library there are two Spelllforces 3: Normal and Versus so which one I need to play multiplayer? Or maybe both?
Versus is the free version that unlocks one race for you. The base game just unlocks more content for you but would still launch the versus edition for you. It's all compatible with each other.
Its a shame that they obliterate the basic units of the firts version of spellforce III when soul harvest arrive, also i get more comfy with the 1st heroes interface
I agree it's a shame about the low tier units! The old hero UI though made standard RTS hotkeys impossible. I'm very happy they reworked that.

Upgrade outposts. Elves have an upgrade for their capital worker count too.
Is there a ranking pvp system for ps4
Yeah! There's ranked matchmaking that's Elo based. You can ban maps, and there are ladders that will display the top 200 global and per-race players. Also PS 4 and 5 have a shared player base.

Im starting to learn this game. So many mods.. I'm a bit puzzled. However, I wonder why can't I build air units in versus mode? I see them a lot on streams but I'm not seeing them when I play versus :D
What race do you play as?

why there is 3 versions of the game on steam ?
They all are the same game client, but you basically get to buy each campaign independently without needing to own the base game.

SpellForce 3: Reforced = base game (Humans, Orcs, Elves and main story)
SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest = expansion 1 (Humans, Orcs, Elves, Dark Elves, Dwarves and second campaign)
SpellForce 3: Fallen God = expansion 2
(Humans, Orcs, Elves, Trolls and third campaign).
All of the above will give you the new game modes.
You can also go with the Versus Edition where you can play multiplayer for free, but only with 1 race - either Humans, Orcs or Elves.

Wth is this game still 50 bucks? Charge 10 bucks for it and it would be hugely popular. Nobody wants to pay 50 bucks for a 3 year old rts.
It just received a new expansion - you must be looking at vanilla. There is a free to play edition here that gives you one of the vanilla races randomly: store.steampowered.com/app/1416260/SpellForce_3_Versus_Edition/

When there's a big fight going on, don't randomly pan out to other random places.
Just went through the whole thing to check. I did this during the opening skirmishes only - no one loses a hero in that phase. Potions are far too good to lose a hero to another even if there are maybe 2-3 additional units.
Trolls seem OP
They got hit by the nerf hammer really hard since this.
Trolls total stats on each unit seems to be a much higher total then any other faction. Is this a expansion race is always best game similar to other rts? Release new race make it broken people buy it then after a few weeks of op play turn them down since the sales incentive had passed?
Trolls have the worst economy and each troll unit cost more food and supply than other races. They are not the best, they are just different. Every race has different strengths and weaknesses.
Can someone actually play as the elves???
