Dutch people are very fond of fish and singing children's songs. That's why he combines them. In Holland this is quite common and you can often see this sort of fish-singing at weddings and funerals. When there are two fishsingers at the same party there's always the risk of a fishfight, where these big fish are used to slap each other in the face, while the crowd cheers and applauds. What's unusual here is that he uses a dead fish; normally they're still alive. Probably smells very fishy. Bah!
well, guys - this (and some other vids) of Team Antonsen "Nederlandsk komiker", shows inspired by Wim Sonneveld do with the cliche's the Scandinavians do have about the Dutch. Pretty sharp, yet not hostile. Greatly done.
To all my friends who doesnt understand Norwegian: The actor (Mr. Schau) is a well known norwegian politician. This act was made as a tribute to represent the dutch people. He got really inspired by the dutcchmen after a visit and is nicely how much they love fish, bread and classy music, just like us, but in other ways:) i've seen dutch people like this all the time in amsterdam, and i wasnt smoking weed at all!
Translation: I prefer singing in Dutch you know, after all, we live here, so it would make no sense talking French and English to people. In a restaurant, it's something else though. A good menu must be in French, as it tastes better that way. If you read "breast of veal" in dutch on a menu, you think, meh... But when it says Buste de Voeux, you take it. *Some silly song about walking past rivers and shit like that*
@ramram21 - this is bloody nonsense or should I say Fishy nonsense. I never heard of this and I have been living in the Netherlands all my life. Hopefully people think it is funny because I don't think it funny at all...
It is funny if you know the nature of that comedian. Most of the things he says and does are funny. However I can understand that the dutch doesn't find this childrens song any funny. When we learned what he was singing about it was not so funny anymore.

Yeah it does smell a little fishy but it is just such a beatiful ceremony.
I cry every time man.
@vrieskip - only the last chorus is familiar, I think the voice we hear is Wim Sonneveld.
Hahaha, i bet! I would love to take a trip to the Netherlands and laugh my ass off before going back home ^^
a well known norwegian comedian, not politician, for the guy under :)
I want a ponytail like that O_o

It's insanely funny, I laugh so tears roll down my cheeks! There is no mockery of the Netherlands, it is just completely absurd.
