We love ours! We bought it last Thursday from Lidle for £60 on impulse and didn't get a chance to unpack and try it until Monday. I thought it was faulty because the digital icons were not lit up and clear. We could just vaguely make them out. The temp and time numerals were very bright and clear but not the others. I rang Tower customer support who were very helpful and gave me a returns number to take it back to Lidle. We had lost the receipt so Lidle customer services were equally helpful saying they would send a letter for us to just bring it back for an exchange or refund as we had only had it less than 6 days. However, we have relocated it in the kitchen and the icons are as clear now as on your video so it appears to have fixed itself. I have used it every day. It's brilliant. We will only ever need our oven when we need high capacity cooking and baking. This is going to save us a lot of money. I think that buying the right sized silicone insert trays will help a lot to cook a few things at once.
That’s great. Lidl customer service is very good. We’ve had to exchange things in the past and they are always happy to help us. Yes, silicone inserts would probably be very useful. I’ve never tried them but I know people who have with great results. Thanks for stopping by.
When making chips do you place them on top of the trivet? If so, do you shake them every so often? If the trivet is under the chips does the trivet move about when you shake the chips? I have a Ninja airfryer and the trivet’s rubber bits at the side don’t keep it down any longer and the trivet comes up when you’re shaking the basket of chips.
Yes, on top of the trivet. The trivet allows the air to circulate properly to give good cooking results. That’s a nuisance if the trivet is loose. If yours is under warranty you should return it.
@@Mandyglen thanks for reply. Unfortunately I’ve had it for 3 years so no warranty now. I’ve put little silicone pieces cut from an old baking sheet and wedged them against the little round rubber things which are on the trivet but although it worked for a while the trivet is starting to move about again. I suspect the grease from the oil on the chips is making them slippery. For the moment I’ll try cooking the chips without any trivet, as at least I can then shake them, but not sure if lack of air circulation will affect them if I do that.
That’s very creative. It’s a shame, things don’t seem built to last any more. You might be able to buy replacement parts online. If you cook without the trivet I think chips will be ok as long as you shake regularly ☺️
@@Mandyglen I’ll give it a try anyway! If I later decide to get another airfryer then I’m going to look out for one which has a secure trivet, but maybe they don’t exist, or they all succumb in the end after being used a lot.
