Been working my way through all the videos you put up today (well, yesterday now, since it's after midnight) and this one is my absolute favorite. Just so stunning and detailed. Bill is a great teacher too, he makes glassblowing even more fascinating.
I love how full that furnace was. That would make controlling the gather so much easier than banging around the bottom of the crucible for glass the day before it gets filled 🤦🏻♂️

There is such a thing as a gathering ball, mostly use to drag up big blobs for cutting off into pressed glass molds. But for furnace work that's not really precise enough
