@@BigSkippy1263 They couldn't. First off, It's a pretty common mid-century newspaper name. Second off, The Daily Bugle was first seen in Fantastic Four #2, published January, 1962, THREE YEARS AFTER this pilot was filmed.
I love how the A&E voice-over sounds like he's thinking "god, what the hell were they smoking". Now I actually want to see this, because it just looks SO out there.
Faster the Speediest Jet, More Powerful then the Mightiest Rocket, Look Up in the Sky, oh who am I kidding this sucks. It's a bird it's a plane, it's some guy in a very big dog mask and wearing Superman Tights
I actually saw the entire pilot. It's color about halfway through and then suddenly switches to black and white. The program advertises that "Your Product" might sponsor the series, which is probably why no product owner in their right mind stepped forward. This show is so bad it's gooood; MST3K commentary good.
They actually made two episodes, the pilot and one other. In the 2nd episode, Lois Lane went into heat and was mounted by SuperPup, then Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, Lex Luthor, and BizarroPup. The actress that played Lois Lane got upset and quit, effectively ending the series. It's a shame. The show had real potential.
DId anyone else notice that the paper he works for is called "The Daily Bugle"?
Ya I did.
Yes and I'm a little surprised that Marvel didn't sue.

How did they not call it The Daily Beagle?
@@victormunroe2418 That's why the show was never picked up to series. They missed low-hanging fruit like that. "Daily Beagle" would have been perfect.
Dang. This makes Japanese live-action Spider Man look good.

You can see it if you buy the blu ray version of the complete superman anthology collection
Unironically love this
This is something that could only be dreamed up in 1950s-1960s.
no es TAN lejano mucho de lo visto en "Dog City"...
What a mindfuck of a show. This is like the visual equivalent of the album Charles Manson made.

Still, Spacey does sound like he's shaking his head in disgust at this.
11 years later and we're all shaking our heads in disgust at him.

A strange attempt to keep the George Reeves series going. No a very promising show to say the least.
Colored by hand?
Done animated, sure. Done live, OMG!
Was that Phil Hartman talking?
Yeah. Which was prior to 1980
