I first saw this movie on tv about thirty years ago and I was really surprised how much I ended up liking it! I found it quite entertaining. Not a classic but well done. I liked Heaven's Gate also. I think those two great films came out at the wrong time-nobody was seeing westerns anymore.
Hated and massively bombed on release it went on to win a Razzie & a Stinker award for it's lead actor Klinton Spilsbury. He never acted agin. I remember it being shown one Saturday morning at a time when UK kids tv was still showing repeats of the original show (along with original Superman, Flash Gordon and Champion the Wonder Horse episodes too - anything to save a buck) and being utterly bored with it. Things pick up towards the end but if anything more enticing had been on the other 3 channels, I wouldn't have stuck around.
I liked this version of the Lone Ranger better than the Johnny Depp version.
Totally agree with the both of you guys one hundred percent on this version of the Lone Ranger ( 1981 ) 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The horse that played “Silver” was a beautiful horse.
