What is her knowledge and experience? As someone who has been devoted to the game's story for 10 years, I can say that Lissandra is a more powerful sorceress than many of the names on this list. 🙂💚
"yet in defeat serves a greater design" I would disagree. For someone known as the deceiver and the mastermind behind the scene LeBlanc had taken way too much unnecessary L's on her forehead. Annie, Rell, and Riven slipped away from her grasp while also taken away the weapon she needed (Tybaulk, Metal Lance, and Runic Blade respectively), and she even refused to listen to Vladimir's advice to seek out Mel instead of searching for Darkin's weapon, and ended up losing Atakhan for no reason and went back to Vladimir's original suggestion. That right there literally proved Vlad is the smarter of the two Black Rose leaders, and Vlad literally have dementia. Also not to mention LeBlanc cannot control her clones as they have gone rogue, most of her clones think they are the true LeBlanc, and some of them ended up killed by Vladimir for spying on him. LeBlanc also acknowledge that she underestimated Vlad and can't repeat the same mistake as her clones did. She simply had to tolerate Vlad despite their nuances. On the other hand, Vlad's Crimson Circle is well accepted by Trifarian millitary, and despite Vlad is a vocal opponent to Trifarix Council. Vlad also even able to entrust Katarina, who is Swain's personal assassin, to sabotage LeBlanc's plans and kill her darkin host, in which LeBlanc never saw this coming.
That’s a fair point, and honestly, LeBlanc’s recent failures do make her look far less untouchable than her title suggests. But I think that’s exactly what makes her character interesting: she operates on extremely long timelines, so short-term losses don’t always equal strategic defeat. Yes, Annie, Rell, and Riven escaped her control, and yes, Atakhan was a costly mistake. But LeBlanc’s pattern has always been gambling on many overlapping schemes at once, some fail, some survive, and some only reveal their value much later. As for Vladimir, I agree he’s often underestimated. He looks passive, but he consistently proves he understands power structures better than people expect. The difference is that Vladimir usually plays conservatively, while LeBlanc constantly pushes unstable pieces into motion. So I wouldn’t say one is simply smarter than the other, more like Vladimir avoids losing, while LeBlanc accepts losses if there’s still a larger board she hasn’t revealed yet.
