My opinion as a student is they treat you like you're 2 when you're in highschool.. They are supposed to say when something is off but when I didn't do school work for months, my parents weren't told about it. They don't explain anything enough so you're left googling all the answers when you should know how to find them -this happens in math a lot, English isn't so bad about it but math, science and history are definitely the worst about it. This is just my opinion after using it for one school year, use it if you would like to but I thought someone might want to know about it.
We didn't use it for high school, but I can see how it can be a little immature for older kids, especially if they didn't adapt their teaching technique for the older students. They should keep track of what you do and do not do in the reports section but they wouldn't come after your parents to let them know. Your parents would have to be checking in. Homeschooling is a lot different than school at home. I can see Time4Learning not being for everyone. We used it for a quarter of our homeschool and found it helpful when I (the parent) was too overwhelmed. I hope you find something that works for you and your education. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience with us. I find it really helpful.
Yo exactly, my parents literally FORCED me to use this last yr and this yr too. I’m so glad I only have one year left after this year and I’m DONE. (Might go back to normal school next yr FINALLY) :,)
YES thank you for giving the pov of a high schooler. I got pulled outta school and was forced to do this for the last 4 months of school and omg they legit treat you like a kid. Like you said you're basically left googling answers because there's no explanation. Not to mention from my current experience they also have you take 2+ years of a foreign language when in high school I'm pretty sure it's just 2 the MAX. I guess if you want to do online learning for summer it's cool but for school school i wouldn't recommend
I have used this program 2 years and love it kids work faster than regular school while learning at their speed. It grades and let's you set their minimum scores so you can set custom goals. It takes care of just about everything while being affordable. I have 4 kids, 2 are home schooled the others are under 2 and it makes juggling my routine efficient. I pay 35 a month for BOTH kids. Its amazing!
So would you need to purchase a curriculum set other than this online option? I get that I will do print outs and gather books that are recommended for reading but do other sets need purchased or is this a set base curriculum?
@@mandyjones770 No, so far I haven't needed to purchase anything else. Sometimes their is science experiments that ask for supplies.. Dollar stores often have what I need. They are very thorough. If the kid is advanced in one subject they can go to the next grade in that subject while keeping the others in their current grade.
My son is in 4th and has ADHD... We were considering this since he struggles in language arts. He is academically behind because schools were closed from March to September... He has only been to public school so this our first time. Thanks for making this video. O really appreciate it. In my state, we have no requirements, just that we teach the core subjects.
I like it for the most part. It’s not perfect, but it is decent. I can’t find another site that has as much to offer for us as secular homeschoolers. I do supplement .
One time I put distributive property as an answer for my math one and they marked it wrong. They said the answer was DISTRIBUTIVE and took off points for that. like, C’MON
I'm in Brooklyn too. We just submitted our first quarterly report. I swear it feels like we're the only ones homeschooling. Glad to know there's another Brooklyn resident homeschooling.
Hello Dawn, I’m also from Brooklyn and about to pull my daughter to start homeschooling. I just wanted to make sure I’m making the right choice. I have a 10 yr old whose struggling in charter school.
@@renaebispham4764 My son had struggles in charter school too. He couldn't separate social aspect from educational aspect and his grades were failing. When schools went remote he did so well. I didn't want the low grades and distractions to come back. Plus I want my kids to have an education that will prepare them for life. You only know how it is until you do it.
Queens resident here! I also homeschool my children and we use T4L. This yearI I am planning on supplementing ELA with The Good and The Beautiful Curriculum, and Math with the Horizon Curriculum!
I've been using north Carolina cyber academy its so stressful my daughter is developing nervous habits. Also the videos are super boring. We love the videos from time for learning. We love everything about it too. Great video. Thanks.
I really enjoyed your video thank you for posting. This is very encouraging for me. I have been homeschooling my kids since about mid April 2019. We did the same thing, we bought a lot of curriculum but I also work full-time from home so finding T4L was a Godsend for my family and we currently use it. I do incorporate other things where I am more hands-on on the weekends with them and sometimes during the week after work as well. so everything you said is definitely true. I sit down with them if they are struggling with something so it’s just all-around perfect. Printing out the worksheets and everything is beautiful. I love the reports option at the end and it’s a very interactive program and they are not just sitting there clicking just like you said but actually learning.
Hi! Not sure if you’ll see this but i just started this Monday and now looking for curriculum for my 2nd grader. Please if you have any input on how to use it etc thank you
Miss Barnes I just purchased the subscription yesterday actually, therefore my kids have not used it. I really like it so far though. As a parent I like the functionality of the website.
I saw your topic and since I love using T4L, I wanted to hear your review. I help homeschool my 12 year old grandson and our first year I went to a convention and way over purchased. Just like most beginners, we didn't know what would work best. The tip about sitting with your child (or being within sight) is spot on! Now that I'm more familiar with using the lesson planning and reports, it is working out for all of us. The lessons are interactive and fun. I plan to continue and include Art or Spanish next year.
I use time4learning for both of my kids, although the math part is great, they have a hard time being engaged with the math so we use teaching textbooks for math which is another great program... but otherwise T4L is brilliant!
I’m a new homeschooler and I’ve purchased a few different programs that aren’t really meeting expectations! My question is can t4l be used solely alone or are other programs, books, or resources required or necessary for effective learning for a kindergartner?
Hello. I’m using it now. I currently just purchased extra books to go with my daughter classes. I didn’t have to. I feel like it it has what is needed if you use the resources on the website.
@@KayeeeC thank you so much for your reply! I actually started my daughter on it today and so far so good but like u said, i will be purchasing extra resources as needed aswell!
I am from NYC (but currently desire in the D.C. area). I remember NYC being strict with Homeschooling. How do you pull it off? My wife and I have homeschool for 2 years and love it.
Can you use this to just supplement with art and music or some extra elective’s? I love to homeschool so far but, need time in the day to get other things done.
hi!! i’m in high school rn and homeschooled with t4l, i’m from texas. i am going to graduate next year but i have one question, how will i be able to get a diploma????
I am not sure of the laws and regulations for homeschooling in Texas. But, you would need to have created a transcript to get a diploma, this is just a curriculum, not a school.
Can it be used as ur only homeschool source in NYC?.... I wud like to use this to report easily and add in workbooks/ sheets /activities of my choice...
Thanks for doing this video. Now that schools are closed due to COVID-19 I wasn't sure which curriculum to go with. Time4learning is 1 of 3 choices. I'm band spanking new to homeschool. Are you still using Time4learning ?
If your children were in public school the teachers are suppose to do remote learning which is teaching through the computers. They send the work out to the kids to do. Unless you decided to remove them from public school and decided to Homeschool them yourself. Not sure if all the states are doing the same thing. In N.Y. that's what they doing. I use Time4Learning and it's great. Not expensive and it will save you from trying to figure out everything in such short time. This is a lifesaver. Highly recommend. And if you need help with anything you can email them or call them with your needs. God Bless you stay safe.
As of right now they do have online learning but nothing counts for grades. Even though it's not being graded I want him to continue to learn. Every day it is very stressful trying to get my 6 year old to do anything related to school work. I live in Louisiana. So far the kids are supposed to return to school April 13th but I really don't see that happening. Honestly, part of me feels like what is the point of dealing with all the stress of doing the online work when it's not counting. But I'm not giving up. He still needs to learn. So we both just keep swimming. Lol
@@dionatreitler5924 wow, they shouldn't do that. It should be counted. If that's the case it seems like what's the point then for teachers to remotely hand out work. It makes no sense to me. But it do agree on still learning. Maybe try and reach out to your DOE and or governor from you way and ask for a change and have this be counted for grades. Maybe have others join in on what you are doing. I also don't think the kids are going back to school either. In NY it's April 20. Even if the schools open up in May I still wouldn't feel safe sending my son back. They need a vaccine that works and is safe. No vaccine, it's going to just start all over again. Keep on swimming.
My sons teacher is not teaching anything online. They are sending busy work, so now I am looking for an alternative learning program to prepare my son for the next grade level while i work. It’s sad that some of these teachers are not teaching but sending busy work...
My daughter did the Vikings assignment where she made the viking. It was fun. She's still in the viking unit because she didn't pass a quiz so we're redoing the unit to ensure you has understanding of what's being taught
I remember the Viking unit, it was so fun. You can also use RUclips to look up videos together and books from the library to bring the lessons to life.
Thank you so much for this video I just found this searching for curriculum for my son with autism I am going to try it through this summer and see how it goes. We diched all our curriculum this fall and did all funschooling and we will still be able to do that as a supplement and do it more thorough too ! I am struggling hitting hours with busy days bad days etc . Therapy dr appointments etc. This would be so helpful just to have for the core hours then I can add in extras for fun when I have the time or mental ability to do it .lol .
Just new on the homeschooling and haven't started yet, but doing research. I came across Time4Learning and it looks really decent. Do you know within "Language Arts" does it include things like literature, reading, spelling and grammar, etc. and does "Social Studies" include history? Where I live we have to have a curriculum that covers certain subjects and there are more than those 4, but I wasn't sure if certain ones were included in their categories. We have to have reading, spelling, mathematics, science, history, civics, literature, writing, and English grammar. I would just need to know if this was everything I needed for the requirements and basics and could just supplement my own stuff for like art, physical education, etc.
You can find samples on their website and look up your state there to see. It aligns with most states. They do also have a trial period you can then really drill into the scope and sequence on the parent side and see the actual work. There is a parent forum too.
Yes! There is definitely subjects within subjects, reading is taught with language arts. However, you can find samples on their website and even see on their site if it aligns with your states recommendations.
So do you have to have a computer or can they use there iPads I’m thinking of purchasing the program but I wanted to be sure about it working with iPads cause I can’t afford computers right now
I am new to home school it was a little frustrating at first but I watch your video you made feel more comfortable I want thank you so much 💓 Our kids are in middle school and high school we also using time4 learning it is awesome so far. Do know what to do if your child was in special Ed 🤔
You are so welcome! You got this! If your child was in Special Ed would be to find where they are and meet them there, work at their level. release pressure, and seek support, possibly tutors or consultants.
Can the kids be placed in a grade level based on their individual needs? Like if my 6th grader is in an 8th grade level in Math but 4th or 3rd grade in Reading, can this be accommodated?
Hello. Great video. My son should have been in grade 1 this year. Due to the pandemic and my dislike of public school here in California I was glad to homeschool him. However, I am not a teacher and I feel I am lacking some kind of structure and a guide to what he should be learning. I feel he is already ahead of his grade in maths. He’s already doing simple division and fraction but other stuff I’m sure he is still first grade. Do I only get to enroll in one grade and I’m stuck in it? Or can I choose second grade maths and 1st grade English and science Thanks
From my experience with Time4Learning you get a year before the year you register as and a year after so if your child is advanced in math they can do the year ahead and then go back to their current year or the year before for whatever they may need. You can not choose the grade levels individually though in Time4learning. Hope this helps.
You can choose a different grade for each subject I just set it up for my son and he is in different grades math he does 2nd language arts is 1st science and social studies we have him in 3rd but can change if it is to hard
Did you end up staying with Time4learning all year, and did you end up changing your ihip( or did you alreadyhave a plan of instruction). I'm also in NY.
I only used Time4Learning for a quarter in our homeschool to try it out. It wasn't originally in our plan, I needed some support during a busy season and it worked for us. I added it in on the quarterly report.
You mention you sent over your kids report and sent it to the department of education can you go more into that like what’s the steps I would have to take to homeschool my kids
Is Time4Learning your only homeschooling? I want to use it as my child's only homeschooling program, but I don't know how to get started with choosing an association to approve it. What does all that mean?
Than you for the information! I am from NYC as well, and I am considering home schooling my kids, I do have a question, so when I submit all the paper work to DOE, do I just mention that I will be using T4L for ELA, Math, science and social study?
@@Justbisop Yes it can be used in place of school but every state has different homeschooling laws. You'll need to research the laws for your state to determine how to start legally homeschooling. You can use Time4Learning for your curriculum.
I am thinking of homeschooling my third grader and kindergartner. Does time4learning do reading curriculum for learning to read? I am looking into a reading curriculum but don't want to add extra if it is not necessary.
I’ve been using time 4 learning but I feel like It’s not real and it’s a waste of time… And I get Unmotivated sometimes… Will I get a highschool diploma after I finish highschool and be able to go to college?
Only if your parent creates your transcripts and high school diploma. You'll also need to take college entrance exam, ACT, or SAT test. Look up the homeschool requirements for your state for graduation. In Texas, homeschools are recognized as private schools and honor the report cards and transcripts parents keep. But other states have a LOT of requirements that may need to be done quarterly. Time4Learning is NOT a school. It is just a homeschool curriculum (think textbooks and worksheets) for parents to use while they homeschool their kids. The custom parent report is a great report to use when making report cards and transcripts. Also RUclips videos about hownto create homeschool high school records.
That is a great question. If you are feeling unmotivated or a curriculum (which is what time4learning is) doesn't work for you, you should research other options. Time4Learning is a curriculum and NOT a school. Your parent has to write a transcript and follow all the steps for your state to get into college. This may include getting a GED or working with a community college or high school for credits and transcript depending on your location and the rules there.
Each state is different, but yes as a parent you get to decide which grade to enroll your students. I would also look at your local colleges to see what their entry requirements are, which is usually just an acceptable ACT/SAT score. It is only high schools that have requirements like 4 years/math/science/language arts ect.. It is not necessary to have an accredited homeschool program for high school to get into college.
We just started and I am already having issues with the website I sit with my son and he will complete a lesson then next day it shows that he didn't complete I talked to other parents that are having the same issue this is so frustrating and I contacted the customer service and they seemed like they didn't know how to help me with this problem. I am so worried about this.
That's strange, I would keep bothering the company and just keep track of what your kids are doing and keep moving forward until they fix it. But I would keep reaching out to them, write them emails,.contact them via social, all the ways you can. That really surprises me that they aren't going above and beyond to fix the issue.
Homeschool can work for one child and with you working full time from home. I work a full-time job, and I homeschool my two kids. I do our schedule/routine that works best for all of us.
I am new to homeschooling and my question is when filling the ihip form can you include time4learning as an option instead of text books? And if yes can you give me an example of how to describe it.,Thanks
@@BloomingBrilliantHomeschoolers thank you for you respond. I really appreciate it.. I though we would have to use books at all time,, but been able to use time 4learning is great..! Where do you recommend buying the text books?
I'm wanting to homeschool both of my children and I came across your video do you have any good pointers on how to get stated? HELP. thanks....any ideas.?
Of course! The best thing to do is just get started. I highly recommend a period of deschooling which is a break where you get to know your child and what they enjoy and where they are academically, it is a time where you try to get away from the way typical school is because homeschool is not like traditional school, you have a lot more freedom. Anyway, if you have specific questions please let me know and I will discuss them on video.
Hello, I live in Puerto Rico and I am looking for an English accredited homeschool non religious curriculum. Is T4L accredited? My son is 12 yr old in the 6th grade (special education) but is deeply behind.I NEED a kind soul to help🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
T4L is not accredited as it is a curriculum and not an online school. I don't work for T4L you can contact them for help in those regards. Otherwise, I can try to help in any other way when it comes to homeschooling. I am not sure of the rules and regulations for homeschooling in Puerto Rico. New York has it's own rules, you can check it out HSLDA.org
I don't think there are placement tests but I do believe there are demos so you can see what the lesson has. I would reach out the them through their website.
Amazing video, I really appreciate the information here. I have a question, I am about to live overseas and looking to find a credited online homeschooling platform, the only issue I have is I am not sure how to get the credit for the classes that my kids are going to take. So, is time4learning offers accepted credits by the USA?
This is an option I'm looking to try for my 7th grader and 1st grader this year alongside with the usual textbook material we usually do but I am wondering how can you tie in both. Is time for learning something to be used everyday or just however long you want to use it during the day? I have many questions even using the time 4 learning site makes it seem like there's a lot on the parent portal that may get confusing. Can I contact you if I need help?
I don't work for Time4Learning, just sharing my experience with it. You can use it alongside other curriculum. You can use it as much as you like, whatever works for your family and homeschool.
is time4learning like regular school? can kids actually graduate from this? like if later on I decide to switch to regular school, would the school accept the credits/grades?
Time4Learning is a homeschool resource. It is NOT a virtual school. It is like any other curriculum. Therefore it does not provide credits or diploma. If you choose to homeschool your child will most likely have to take a placement test when they return to traditional school.
Hi ! I have a question. I was supposed to move to a new school last year but due to COVID i couldn’t. I had to take online schooling (t4L) I still haven’t finished my online school. What will happen if I don’t finish it on time? Will I have to repeat a school year ? I am moving to a new school this coming august and they’ll ask if I did online schooling.
How much does all of this cost? As a break down. Extra for curriculums? Other fees aside from monthly purchase? Also, was the quarterly report through T4L easy?
@@just1missp Only found out it’s extra but offered if your child needs to take a foreign language. Music and Art are not available, so you still have to find a different program to cover those. Received no response on if doing quarterly was easy. Was also told, I would be responsible for obtaining state assessment tests at the end of the year. Idk if it’s different for every state, but that’s mine per NY.
I have not tried Power Homeschooling. You can use time4learning however you like, we still did a few other things while we were using time4learning. Whatever works for you, that is one of the best things about homeschooling.
Do you mean high school art history elective? You can add the course by going to your parent dashboard, and then the manage student tab. Use the orange button to update the courses for your student.
The regular art class for elementary grades are for certain grades, it wasn't available for my 1st grader but was for my 5th and they both did it through hers.
Will this work for a child with learning disabilities? My daughter is going to 3rd and she can't read yet but I want to keep her home this year because of covid...I currently use hooked on phonics with her. Would time4learning be good for her?
I love time4learning. I use it with my 3rd grader and 9th grader in addition to other resources but Time4learning is the main curriculum. We also use kahn academy, IXL, education.com, homeschool pop and others. I want to have a diverse collectin of resources so the routine is not mundane.
If you are using Time4Learning you can probably complete your homeschool in about an hour or two, depending on the age. Some classes like science have offline work, which is great. It really depends how you set up your schedule.
My daughter in 8th spent about 3 hours per day 4 days per week. You can also go in to the scope and sequence and customize how many assignments. My daughter learns fast so I was able to remove some of the repetitive stuff. I set thresholds on quizzes so she has to redo at my expectations.
Hi, is T4L a real school, I mean can i just study in T4L and then I can graduate and go straight to college? like is it acreditate by the US government (like a normal high school but just when we talk about accreditation, I'm soo sorry if I'm not being clear)? also thank you so much for your help
You can start wherever you like. I would probably start at the beginning and assess where my child's skills are and see if I can skip some things from there.
Hey Christine my daughter that's now in kindergarten I chose power homeschool by acellus she likes it I was doing research on time4learning how would this compare ?
I am not sure as I have never used Power Homeschool by Acellus and I don't work for Time4Learning. I was just sharing our thoughts on it while we used it.
It's really difficult to answer this without knowing the child, their interests, the way they learn and what their special needs are. I would say to try a free trial and see if it works for your child. There are many great resources out there Time4Learning is just one of them.
You mentioned that you have to send some paperwork to school department... is that for Time4learning? Because I thought that this is unaccredited? Confused 😕
Letters into the NY DOE Homeschooling department. If you are in NY, they want certain forms filled out for homeschooling. Those are the papers I am talking about.
If we decide to send our little one back to regular school next year or two will these transfer over and will she be in the same grade that she competed.
Usually, any school will admit a student if they take and pass specific tests. In NYC, if a child continues to stay registered at the appropriate grade levels for his/her age, that child should be able to reenter school at any time at their grade level. Once high school starts, however, the NYC public schools require Regents exams to make yearly promotions. To reenter high school, you might be required to take all of the Regents exams for your previous high school years. Any exam that you didn't pass would be a course you would have to take again.
You can use reports from the parent side to show the school like a transcript of what was covered and child’s grade. It isn’t always automatic anyway. Even if you were in a public school in another state they may want to placement test.
Right now, with COVID socialization is difficult for everyone. The best thing when everything returns to normal or semi-normal is to have your children join extracurricular activities that interest them, where they will meet follow children. Let them be active in the community. Join a Homeschool Co-op where you get together once a week and learn together. Socialization is a valid concern, it something we all worry about especially in the beginning but how often are we all with people of the same age? We socialize with a variety of people so having your children be active in the community can solve this problem. I hope this helps.
Socialization is misconceived by people. First off, when a child goes to a physical school, they can only interact with each other during lunch or in the hallway between classes. Children, otherwise, are supposed to sit in their seats and be quiet. Also, there are almost always local homeschooling activity groups to join. As for socialization, this actually means that a child or person can properly interact with others. It doesn't necessarily mean they have to be around others all the time or a lot. Homeschoolers also outperform others in that area.
We have our daughter in gymnastics, dance, jiu jitsu (here soon) and we have a 4H about 10 miles up the road here in rural WV, just to name a few. Also, your local homeschool community does field trips and gatherings as well. (It's not 1989 any more) You got this.
T4l also has a kids chat area where they can make cyber friends. Getting out of public school expanded by daughters social life. Not being locked in a building everyday she now has many homeschooled friends that can do whatever whenever. Her schooled friends are so jealous. The socialization issue is anti-homeschool propaganda. Not an issue really.
I believe they have changed the science section since we have used Time4Learning. We really enjoyed the science, it was a lot of print out and hands on work so you needed to gather a few materials and such. Again, I believe they changed this.
You have to use and pay for an accredited homeschool program in order to receive a diploma. Otherwise, your child has to take the GED when they finish high school. We use the accredited program from Abeka.com which costs us about $1,100 per year for the books, DVD classroom, and accreditation for our daughter. We use their program, because it's far more progressed, and she will get a diploma from them.
LIDARKSIDE not true...go to freetranscripts.com and create your own transcript. You can order your child a diploma off the Internet when they meet all the criteria for graduation in your state. Your child will need to take ACT or SAT or placement test to get into most colleges. They do not need to do a GED. I have two in universities in TN and N.C. one took ACT and the other took placement test. Both graduated from community college then transferred into university. Please do your research in your state. Homeschools are real private schools. Parent is the administrator and teacher. You hand out the diploma.
@@bravelizard494 Yes, but just like a GED, it's not up to the standard of a school-issued diploma and transcript. Most all homeschoolers I know had to have their children take the GED; and, not only are homeschoolers usually put ahead of the list for acceptance into universities and college over public school students, homeschoolers with school-issued diplomas and transcripts get even further preference. I've been homeschooling for 11 years and have done my research very well (thank you) which is why we go with an accredited program whereas our daughter will receive a diploma and transcript from the school itself. ...and for those who prefer to make up their own diploma, they can also go here, www.homeschooldiploma.com/.
T4l is not an online or virtual public school so it doesn’t give its own diploma. It uses the same material public schools use so kids will align with what they learn in public schools. It’s for true homeschool were parents manage everything. There are cyber or online public schools also but they are not the same as homeschool since parents take a back seat and the online school sets the rules.
You should look for accredited homeschool programs. Programs such as these, offer diploma. Abeka is a great option (They have both accredited and non-accredited options). However, it is mostly book based with video lessons. Time4learning is only a curriculum. Think along the lines of materials you child uses to learn (i.e. worksheet, instruction, books. etc.). In the homeschool scenario, You are the teacher, your home is the school, your child is the student. You decide the material you would use to teach your child (i.e Time4learning, Abeka, Miacademy, etc.) . Hope this helps.
Yes! We loved T4L when we used it but we also enjoy using other curriculum. It is perfect if you are just starting out or need to add some variety to your lessons.
Thank you for this video. In a comment you said is not accreditated program? What does this means ? Could you explain this ? I’m new to this I’m trying to learn as much as a can 🙏🏼
I was very confused at first too last year. So there is a difference between homeschool and cyber/virtual/online school aka schooling at home. A kid can go to a state public school while at home and that is where a kid gets credits or diplomas. A parent takes a back seat to the virtual school even though the kids are at home. Homeschool is outside of the institutional system and parents call all the shots in what they learn and time spent. A curriculum is the work kids do...the assignments and learning goals based on the standards guide. T4l is just the curriculum or the teaching martial already put together so it matches the learning goals of the public school institution. The parent uses T4l as the materials or “books” and guide their kids themself. True homeschool kids usually take a generalized test at 18 through their local school system to graduate and so do not need to earn credits.
Hello! New to homeschooling 😅 I’m new to this so I’m so lost ☹️ which program for a 2nd grade that we wouldn't have any issues transferring her back to public ?
I'm looking into home schooling. And having a hard time finding curriculum that doesn't break the bank. Shes been doing virtual through local school and it's going so bad.
There are affordable curriculum options you just have to look around there are even free options like Easy Peasy (I haven't used them, allinonehomeschool.com/ )
Thanks for sharing , is there available printable materials on the website to more practice or we have to buy some books for kids? It's my first time as homeschoole mom 😍
There is printable materials available. You can also search the internet for supplemental printables. Libraries even if it is ebooks and audiobooks are great for homeschoolers as well.
Hi! I just found your channel, and I like it a lot! 🤗 I am considering to use Time4learning again, we used it maybe 2 years ago and we liked it, so this video has been very helpful, thank you very much! 🙋♀️
Lol is it not expensive? i thought it was $20 per kid. then I saw videos that it's also about $90 per curriculum -and that's per semester. Cool study guides are additional $20. Is there one for just the premium and is that a good idea without having to pay for all those "per premiums?" :)
When we used it, it was mostly animation and we did use our printer, especially for science at the time. I am not sure about an app as we used it directly on desktop.
my sister’s going to start time4learning and she’s only going to do it for middle school. Since time4learning isn’t accredited, i was wondering, ¿would community college still accept unacredited middle school? she’s going to do an accredited highschool program, so would the middle school accreditation even matter at all to community college? if you don’t know the answer to this, it’s perfectly fine :D
As it has been stated in the other comments, your child should be fine when it comes to using Time4Learning in middle school. Colleges don't typically look at middle school records, usually high school with a focus on the last few years.
So for 8th grade ..can you get a diploma for that since its not high school. Just wondering if I could at least use this program for 8th grade and then switch to an accredited program in high school next year.
@@BloomingBrilliantHomeschoolers I seen on my dash and option to request a diploma for 8th grade . I understand about high school but their is a link to fill out for a diploma.
@@larocco83 Just a side note in the state of New York, Students in Homeschool do not receive credits, transcripts, or high school diplomas. New York State does not recognize virtual or online schools. You are welcome to use an online school to meet the requirements of home schooling, including the IHIP and quarterly reports but in order to get them in college they would eventually need to take the GED/TASC.
@@aaron32608 Time4Learning is not a school. It is a curriculum that you use for your school (your homeschool). The cool thing about time4learning is that record keeping is done for you each time the child logs on, the time spent doing lessons is recorded as well as the grade for tests, quizzes, etc.
Time4Learning is a curriculum so not accredited. I am not sure what you are asking. Homeschooling in New York we have to fill out forms and submit them to the Department of Education. Time4Learning is just a resource used to teach.
Not sure if you will see this! But I want to use T4L for my son. I want to homeschool now. Can I use this as the main resource. I dont want to have to do extra. What all do I need to be able to do this the right way?
Thank you for giving a high school student POV.
@@yuhhchrissy How do they treat you like you're a kid? Just curious because I'm thinking of enrolling my high schooler.
I am not sure of the laws and regulations for homeschooling in Texas. But, you would need to have created a transcript to get a diploma, this is just a curriculum, not a school.
Are the lessons stand alone? Like could you bounce around to your other curriculum for variety and come back to TFL when mom needs a break?

Can time4learning be my main curriculum for the year?
Yes! Time4Learning can be your main curriculum for the year.
Yes and it is so easy and organized

Or can I choose second grade maths and 1st grade English and science
Thanks
From my experience with Time4Learning you get a year before the year you register as and a year after so if your child is advanced in math they can do the year ahead and then go back to their current year or the year before for whatever they may need. You can not choose the grade levels individually though in Time4learning. Hope this helps.
You can choose a different grade for each subject I just set it up for my son and he is in different grades math he does 2nd language arts is 1st science and social studies we have him in 3rd but can change if it is to hard

Did you have to file a PSA with your state for your children to enroll or complete this homeschooling program
I didn't have to file a PSA with my state for my children. Time4Learning is not an online school, we just used it for instruction.
But it can be used for homeschooling your child in place of school correct
@@Justbisop Yes it can be used in place of school but every state has different homeschooling laws. You'll need to research the laws for your state to determine how to start legally homeschooling. You can use Time4Learning for your curriculum.
I am thinking of homeschooling my third grader and kindergartner. Does time4learning do reading curriculum for learning to read? I am looking into a reading curriculum but don't want to add extra if it is not necessary.
They teach phonics and reading, yes.
After completing a year with t4l, will my middle schooler be able to re enroll in public school and go to her next grade?
Of course! However, it is up to the school, they may make your child take a placement test or they may just let them go back like normal.
Will homeschool work with one child when I'm working a full time job from home?

I love time4learning. I use it with my 3rd grader and 9th grader in addition to other resources but Time4learning is the main curriculum. We also use kahn academy, IXL, education.com, homeschool pop and others. I want to have a diverse collectin of resources so the routine is not mundane.
Hello, how much time are you using screen time for this schooling a day? Hours wise. Thanks
Time4Learning is just a curriculum. It is not an online school.
If a child has begun the year at a school would you start at the beginning of the curriculum or the weeks in that they have already had school?
You can start wherever you like. I would probably start at the beginning and assess where my child's skills are and see if I can skip some things from there.
Hey Christine my daughter that's now in kindergarten I chose power homeschool by acellus she likes it I was doing research on time4learning how would this compare ?
I am not sure as I have never used Power Homeschool by Acellus and I don't work for Time4Learning. I was just sharing our thoughts on it while we used it.
Would you say time4learning is good for young kids with special needs?
It's really difficult to answer this without knowing the child, their interests, the way they learn and what their special needs are. I would say to try a free trial and see if it works for your child. There are many great resources out there Time4Learning is just one of them.
I love time4learning
Do you get worksheets to print out?
Yes, they do have worksheets that you can print out.
@@BloomingBrilliantHomeschoolers oh I see! Yeah. We are not in NY. But thank you for answering my question!
The program looks good but what about socialization? I live in rural Vermont and this is hard enough in public school.
@@NorthlandSLC really i didn’t see that before on T4L I'm gonna have to check that out
Hows the science bits? I only need a science curriculum.
I believe they have changed the science section since we have used Time4Learning. We really enjoyed the science, it was a lot of print out and hands on work so you needed to gather a few materials and such. Again, I believe they changed this.
Do you get a high school diploma with time for learning? Will my child be able to get into college with this program?
You have to use and pay for an accredited homeschool program in order to receive a diploma. Otherwise, your child has to take the GED when they finish high school. We use the accredited program from Abeka.com which costs us about $1,100 per year for the books, DVD classroom, and accreditation for our daughter. We use their program, because it's far more progressed, and she will get a diploma from them.
This is Time4Learning's FAQ page, www.time4learning.com/curriculum/faq.html#diploma.
Time4Learning is not an online school. It is a homeschool curriculum. They do not provide a diploma.
I want my kids to use it in summer for their next grade math , do you believe it's Texas curriculum?
I don't work for the company but all of their information is on their website.
Can your child graduate from this program with a diploma? Does the parent need anything state specific to do this?
T4l is not an online or virtual public school so it doesn’t give its own diploma. It uses the same material public schools use so kids will align with what they learn in public schools. It’s for true homeschool were parents manage everything. There are cyber or online public schools also but they are not the same as homeschool since parents take a back seat and the online school sets the rules.
As stated, Time4Learning is NOT an online school. It is a curriculum. Like a Pearson (or any other big name) text book.
What homeschooling are you using?
I am not sure I understand this question. We tried out Time4Learning it is a curriculum and not an online school.
I like T4L with my homeschooled grands but I also use other things
Yes! We loved T4L when we used it but we also enjoy using other curriculum. It is perfect if you are just starting out or need to add some variety to your lessons.
Thank you for this video. In a comment you said is not accreditated program? What does this means ? Could you explain this ? I’m new to this I’m trying to learn as much as a can 🙏🏼
I mean you do not get a diploma, and that this is not an online school.
I am not sure it really depends on the public school you can homeschool with any curriculum. I think Time4Learning is a great option.
Yes there are printed materials
There is printable materials available. You can also search the internet for supplemental printables. Libraries even if it is ebooks and audiobooks are great for homeschoolers as well.
What about miaacedemy? have you heard about that one?
I haven't.
How many days of the week do you homeschool?
We typically do school 5 days a week, but this year we have been trying out 4 days a week instead and it has been good. :)
Hi! I just found your channel, and I like it a lot! 🤗 I am considering to use Time4learning again, we used it maybe 2 years ago and we liked it, so this video has been very helpful, thank you very much! 🙋♀️
Thank you so much for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Lol is it not expensive? i thought it was $20 per kid. then I saw videos that it's also about $90 per curriculum -and that's per semester. Cool study guides are additional $20. Is there one for just the premium and is that a good idea without having to pay for all those "per premiums?" :)
When I filmed this video that was the price. Not sure how it is now.
@Denise Formato where's the website?
@Denise Formato
Does Time 4 Learning have Teachers? Do you need a printer? Or can use a app called Kami?
When we used it, it was mostly animation and we did use our printer, especially for science at the time. I am not sure about an app as we used it directly on desktop.
suppose a student starts well after the semester or trimester starts? Is that possible?
It is possible.
my sister’s going to start time4learning and she’s only going to do it for middle school. Since time4learning isn’t accredited, i was wondering, ¿would community college still accept unacredited middle school? she’s going to do an accredited highschool program, so would the middle school accreditation even matter at all to community college? if you don’t know the answer to this, it’s perfectly fine :D
Time4Learning is a curriculum so not accredited. Colleges don't generally ask for info about middle school. I
I used T4L from grade 1 till 8. Then I switched to Penn Foster to get an accredited high school diploma. Now my son is in community college doing IT.
Time4Learning does not provide any kind of diploma. This is for regular homeschooling not for remote, virtual or distance schooling.
New subscriber! Thx for the video was thinking about getting for my kids.
Thank you!!!
Hi! I'm considering homeschooling my two kids. Do you know if they complete high-school through this program, do they get a high-school diploma?
This program does not offer a high-school diploma.
You can print your own highschool diploma online. You don't need one for college anyway. Google that.
So they won’t get an 8th grade diploma? How come thank you new to this...
@Rashad Hill 🍔
@@aaron32608 Time4Learning is not a school. It is a curriculum that you use for your school (your homeschool). The cool thing about time4learning is that record keeping is done for you each time the child logs on, the time spent doing lessons is recorded as well as the grade for tests, quizzes, etc.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. 🌞😊
Thank you
Thanks for the review! Great info!
Glad it was helpful!
i looked if time4learning is accredited and it says its not, i am not sure so are you homeschool accredited?
Time4Learning is a curriculum so not accredited. I am not sure what you are asking. Homeschooling in New York we have to fill out forms and submit them to the Department of Education. Time4Learning is just a resource used to teach.
@@BloomingBrilliantHomeschoolers i see i think i need to learn more about homeschooling..thank you!
Not sure if you will see this! But I want to use T4L for my son. I want to homeschool now. Can I use this as the main resource. I dont want to have to do extra. What all do I need to be able to do this the right way?
Yes, you should be able to start this right away and you don't really NEED anything else.
Yes. I used T4L from grade 1-8 to teach my sons. My eldest son is in CC. Did his high school diploma from Penn Foster
