I work at UPS and see these packages almost every day. Always wondered how they look inside! Just so you know, it seems to be universal that these packages (as well as live fish) are handled with a TON of care in my experience. We get so excited because they’re one of the only boxes that have that label of what’s inside, and my coworkers and I love googling to see what the snakes, lizards, frogs, etc. inside the box look like! I once shipped a tortoise where someone wrote on the box that their name was “Pinky” ❤️😭
I wish this was true cause Ups killed my Betta import from Thailand, y'all smashed tf outta the box 😭 poor baby was DOA... His name was going to be Yue (moon)
@@AnneDalton82 I’m so sorry that happened : ( Usually when that’s the case, there was an error with the machinery (boxes getting snagged in the conveyors and squished), in transit (truck stopping suddenly, plane turbulence, etc.), or other hazards. In my opinion, shipping animals is too dangerous, but I know that the trade will not realistically stop. Maybe try to buy locally when possible, or file a refund and try again. I know it’s heartbreaking and wish the options were better. Best of wishes.

A lot of people say certain reptiles make terrible pets because you can’t handle them regularly because of stress or whatever. But no one says fish make terrible pets because you can’t hold them and pet them. Some reptiles prefer to be seen and not touched, and that’s ok.
As a driver and animal person. Thank you for picking up your pet rather than waiting to have it delivered to your door. Those trucks aren't designed to give an animal a cozy ride. Good on ya

Ive had some bad experiences with underground reptiles. So have other people. I bought a Florida snapping turtle with a deformed beak, and a pointed up tail. It doesn't hurt or prove any harm to the turtle. They just didnt care.

Underground Reptiles is a nightmare of wild caught animals. Also, they sell exotic mammals like sloths and sand cats, some of them wild caught. Honestly really abhorrent.

I have ordered a speckled racer from underground reptiles, they very hard to find in the trade. End up coming to my house dead. Blood was inside the box. Snake had a fractured skull. 😭 just be careful and know the risks of shipping reptiles to your home
@biviygranew4605 Its not hurting the snake at all. Its part of snake biology to have a mouth like that. All snakes can basically unhinge their lower jaws. Thats why snakes can open their mouths so wide. Also, a snakes lower jawbone isnt a solid piece like most animals. They are 2 pieces and it isnt connected in the middle at all, theres just stretchy tendons around the "chin" part. So the two halves of their lower jaw can basically move in different direction and its jaw can stretch out to be wider than its head. Its this way so the snake can eat its prey, which is often times as big or bigger than its head. If you watch a snake eat, after it swallows its prey it often "yawns" a couple times. Its not yawning. Its rehinging and resetting its jawbones.
My favorite snake are sand snakes maybe vipers? I'm not sure what the name is called I'm new to the whole snake thing but I've been learning and I will surely learn a bunch more.
