I think they’re both right, I use the internet to find local friends who get me, hand it’s lead to a really awesome IRL friend group that I regularly interact with in person. If it weren’t for me using the internet I wouldn’t have my friends

It's a dilemma-- the internet is good for the reasons Ben said, but it seems like that sense of camaraderie used to be found more in real life. Personally I think that the internet exacerbates people's loneliness, but the underlying source of this alienation is hard to find and fix.
